its really sad how his last straw was the death of a child and how he saw it as betrayal. it really shows that as a sentient artificial being who for some reason has human emotions, he didn’t understand how to process the grief and emotions he felt after their death leading him to snap and choosing to erase all his emotions instead. he was basically a kid that didn’t understand how to deal with all the negative things that was happening to him
this!! Ei discarded her creation, which she saw as freeing him. Scara, however, didn't understand why and saw it as being thrown away. He is a child having to learn the world with no guidance and taking it all in for himself. I can understand why he would feel betrayed by it all, he knows no different, and experiencing it so much, he probably doesn't see any different either. people need to remember this is HIS perspective, and his perspective will be different from ours, where we know the full story.
scara's voice actor did SUCH an amazing job going from emotion to emotion in such a short amount of time. he truly took us on a journey from scara's beginning to the present!
A child taking care of a child 🥺 And if Scara didn't need food or sleep, he was probably taking care of him around the clock. That child was everything to him.
Omg Patrick Pedraza did an amazing job voicing Scaramouche! The way he said “my mother” was so heartbreaking. I love the way his voice gradually became angrier and loathsome after each “betrayal.” He’s definitely one of my fave VAs in Genshin rn.

Everybody mostly talking about the delivery of the word "mother" but WHAT ABOUT HIS SLIGHT CHUCKLE at 1:26 when he said he laughs at the world. THAT WAS SO GOOD!!!!!
His voice actor did such a good job, how he went from heartbreak to pure evil, the breathing placement, and the way the said “my mother” was so heartbreaking LIKE BRO I NEED HIM
@@PatrickPedraza I wish that your journey goes as successful as it can be! I can say that Scaramouche is gonna have a big fanbase❤️ Thank you for your reply!
His delivery changed my ENTIRE opinion on Scara and I will now, after 2 years of saying 'no Scara' will be rolling on his banner, LMFAO!! This was a BEAUTIFUL touch to Scaramouche's character!!
The way he said “My mother…” truly shows that he wasn’t just a cruel shell of a personality.. he really had emotions! I’m super excited for his upcoming story quests, it’s going to be gold!
I dont remember where, but raiden once told us that she had to let go of scaramouche because he was too emotional for her (since she wanted an emotionless puppet which could do her work like the shogun). So he was kind of a "failed experiment".
this guys voice actor is absolutely insane. dont know who he is but i wanna shake this mans hand edit: also, they way he said "So i said good riddance! i denounce the world, and laugh in its face" gave my goosebumps goosebumps
The way he said 0:28 "My mother.." and the way he said "My....friend..." was so good!!! His voice actor did a really good job at portraying all the grief, and pain, he went through. you can sense all his emotions by just listing to his voice!
One of the best cutscenes in the game. When the music at 1:18 matches the tone of his feelings and the flames resembling his cataclysmic awakening. So chilling. The lines were perfectly delivered.
Agreed!!!! The visuals, music and voice acting were AMAZING!!! I was really immersed. Thought this cutscene was initially weird and came about so suddenly. But when the plot explained about its relevance, i was amazed!!! Hope the storytelling stays this good or gets even better
I love how his voice sounds kind of sad in the beginning, but slowly transmitions into a more angry and vengeful tone and then to a sinister and evil one. Patrick, you're doing such a great job voicing scara! :D
Out of all the limited characters, his story and lore is the most complete. Hoyo has been sprinkling his lore since the beginning of the game until present. The best character to have a lore.
@@The-all-powerful-avatar technically he believes Ei left him cuz he was weak. So all this stems from his belief that his emotions are his weakness due to him trusting and caring for others
This scene legit gave me goosebumps all over, and the way he says mother, oh goodness😭 scara’s voice actor did so well and amazing job to the animators and rest of the genshin impact team! You guys outdid yourselves on this one🫶🏻 Keep up the great work!!
i know all of us are crying over ''my mother'' and ''my friend'' but lets not sleep on ''HE BROKE HIS PROMISE TO ME.'' his voice actor did a fantastic job.
Literally each line is voice acted so well, the English VA did a great job, the part of "my mother" then "my friend" and even other lines show a lot emotion
I watched this now five times in a row, the last two times with my headphones because the way Scaramouche's VA says "my mother" and "good riddance" just pierces through my heart each and every time I listen to it. I'm all emotional - it's been a while I wanted to play with a character this much
i hope the rumors are true about him being playable with an anemo vision, that would be so nice! venti took in xiao and kazuha by giving them a vision, so it would make sense if he took in scaramouch by giving him a vision as well.
Honestly, I can understand how he feels. He just exists, yet all these bad things keep happening to him for no reason. He trusts no one, purely because he's scared of being hurt and betrayed over and over again. He's lost, and he wants someone help him.
Omg finally been waiting for the official release of Hoyo of this scene... The VA really nailed Scaramouche's feelings here... I will never recover from this
I admit that I never liked him, but his backstory is so tragic. The way he said "my mother" right before he get abandoned just Heartwrenching to say the least. Even then he tried to form bonds, twice, and he lose both of them. Now i can understand why he became so cruel and callous. He felt that the world keeps on betraying him.

@@snapedu9166 bruh... Did you seriously think he killed him??? No, the boy probably have some kind of sickness and died but scara see it as a betrayal... Probably because he didnt know how to process grief and emotions and react impulsively like his mom
You can see that scaramouche acts and thinks like a child, he sees the world as black and white and the attempts to not hurt him or keep him safe as betrayel, he couldn't understand or cope with his grief só he saw the death of the child as a betrayel, same with Ei setting him free or his family sacrificing themselves for him. He was a "failure" because of his emotions that made his "mother" discard him, honestly, it's really sad. He's like a baby who's recently born, or a child who has never been taught by any parent. "My mother" "My friend" "A fledgling barely out of the nest" The first one is said with *sadness* The second is said with *hope* And the last, is said with *understanding*
The first: ei made him and left him the golden feather which proves his identity as her son The second: before niwa died, he told someone to give his heart to scara. But turns out it was his retainer’s heart. Scara felt like he was tricked and betrayed by niwa so he ripped it out from his chest. The third: scara and the boy made a promise to live together happily but the boy died of tatarigami.
A little bit of misinformation going on here- 1) Ei created him, then basically abandoned him/put him to sleep for a long time because he cried in his sleep. 2) Niwa was about to go into the furnace to fix the issue himself, but Dottore (posing as a mechanic from Fontaine) killed him. He gave Niwa's heart to Scaramouche, claiming that it was one of Niwa's retainer's hearts, and that Niwa had fled and left Scaramouche to resolve the issue. 3) The boy promised Scaramouche that he wouldn't leave him, but died of the tatarigami, and Scaramouche saw this as a betrayal.
Cool cutscene, its interesting to see the diference between perspectives of Raiden and Balladeer, because she thought she gave him freedome to live life the way he want, but he took it as a betray and that he isnt worthy for her
I don’t think we’ve seen Raiden’s full perspective on the matter yet. We still don’t know why exactly she sealed him away and put him to sleep in that old pavilion (I assumed it was because she wanted to meet Yae in the middle instead of just killing him or because he reminded her of Makoto but I’m not sure) I guess it’s gonna be elaborated more on in a future story quest
I love scara so much and knew his lore even before this, but NOTHING could've prepared me for this scene. all the emotions, the music, the intensity... The VA did an amazing job as always, he portrayed Scaras emotions so well, especially during the "...my mother" part
@@antm9771 by leaving his sleeping body that "wasn't supposed to wake up" (according to Ei) locked up in a pavilion in the middle of nowhere while being fully aware about how clueless and malleable he would be if he would ever wake up?
This is truly one of the best cutscenes I have ever seen in Genshin. They way every betrayal progressively breaks Scara, and then delivers the emotional gut punch. We empathize with him, yet are also able to understand his incomprehension towards emotions through the presentation. It’s simply brilliant. Not to mention the delivery. This cutscene single-handedly made me fall in love with the character that I was pretty indifferent about. Amazing.
This cutscene was so heartbreaking and you can hear his grief and almost crying at the, "My mother." The VA did so good with his character! the word “ mother “ makes me so sad and heartbreaking , its so beautiful. the animation when Scaramouche put the hat as a kid is sooo good and the transition is amazing
The fact that He called Ei "mother" is legit painful. He feels abandoned and rightfully so. But I don't think taking the Gnosis will solve his problems. In the artifact description It is said that the first time He got the Gnosis inside (when Ei put it) He shed tears. I don't think the Gnosis is the "purely divine" thing He thinks it is. Or at least something will not exactly go he envisioned. He wants to get rid of all his feelings but that is not the right way to deal with your problems
I really hope him and Ei can talk face to face with each other one day so they can hear each other’s perspective on the matter. I’m not asking for some fairy tale happy ending for the dude (since he doesn’t really deserve that) but I think what he really needs rn is some kind of closure
1:44 this scene shows a lot, the setting is clearly Inazuma yet it is snowy, suggesting that Scaramouche turned to the Fatui in Sneznhaya, hence the snow. Additionally, he transitions from his Inazuma look to the one we see now, absolute attention to detail.
Pretty sure that's just Inazuma at winter. You can see Inazuman buildings and monuments in the background. Yae's voiceline about Snow kinda of implies that in Inazuma it does snow.
Coming back to this after 3.3, and wow. It's even more sad now that we know more about what happened. I still can't believe that guy is Niwa and not Katsuragi. For the longest time we've thought Niwa wasn't a person and it was Katsuragi's family name lmao.
@@HaDeS-X Scara (Kabukimono) met a man named Niwa in Tatarasuna and they became very good friends One day, a man from Fontaine named Escher came to 'improve the forging qualities' and told the people they should use Crystal Marrow for the furnace But that was a bad idea and the furnace let out dangerous black smoke Since niwa was the highest authority in Tatarasuna, he was forced to tell no one in the village about what happened. The furnace could only be fixed if someone goes into the furnace and stop it, but you would die doing that. Niwa wanted to sacrifice himself. Scara knew Niwa needed help, and went to Inazuma City to ask Raiden for help, but she was replaced with a puppet already and didn't wanna talk to scara. So instead, Yae Miko came, and told scara to send help to Tatarasuna The help came, but no one in the village knew about the problem and Escher said everything is fine, Niwa fled out of fear and left the village, and scara went into the furnace to fix everything. But that was a lie, and Escher actually killed Niwa and put his heart into a device to fix the furnace. With it, Scara went into the furnace and actually survived. Scara asked Escher, what was in the device? Escher lied and said Niwa killed a random person for a heart and fled the village, but the truth is it was Niwa's heart that saved scara. Scara felt betrayed because Niwa let him go into the furnace instead and abandoned him by leaving the village Escher lied all the time, because actually, he was Dottore. Since everyone in the village thought Niwa betrayed them, the blame fell to the second highest authority (Nagamasa) So Nagamasa should get punished and be killed. Katsuragi, who always served Nagamasa, took the death punishment onto himself and let Nagamasa kill him instead. (I hope I got everything right)
@@MiyuKawasaki It's been like a whole year but I just wanted to add that Katsuragi was the one to find Kabukimono originally! Ei had left him in the Shakkei Pavillion close to Tatarasuna, which got exposed by a landslide or cave-in of some kind. Katsuragi was the one to find the pavillion and went poking around, eventually finding the Kabukimono. He also recognized the feather and told Kabukimono to keep his identity a secret, but Niwa and Nagamasa found out later anyway.
@@whyisyoutubeshowinghandles That's true!! However in the cutscene where Wanderer gets his vision, a man in the flashbacks says "A puppet? What's he doing here?" and that's where I got confused. @@MiyuKawasaki If my memory is correct, Katsuragi appears in the Shakkei Pavillion memory sequence as the one who finds the Kabukimono. The person you mentioned is probably Nagamasa- I don't think he took the Kabukimono's inhuman status very well when he found out(this should be in one of the Husk of Opulent Dreams descriptions iirc!)
at the end he basically act as human...fill with rage. His emotions and desire for revenge and 'to end it all' act basically shows that he could never rid of his humanly emotions. well I'm to excited to see ei's pov and what her true feelings for her puppet
hearing he says "mother" "my family" "my friend" sounds really heartbreaking, now i understand why he is like that. but all this time, he doesnt really need gnosis but a love of a mother, family and a friend to be by his side.
The saddest part is that he thinks his Mom abandoned him for being weak, when in fact Ei realized he was too emotional to play the Puppet role, so she let him free when she could have easily destroyed him (Something that Yae Miko even suggested).
Honestly though destroying him would be better than forcing him to live his life knowing he's not good enough for her, that he's lesser than the other puppet she created. Hurts more man
@@InactiveTwig Scaramouche was not based on Ei. He was just a prototype of the technology. He was only tested with gnosis. He was never created to house Ei.
@@v.emiltheii-nd.8094 that is a headcanon, Ei hasn't stated this anywhere in game. For now the only reason for abandoning him seems to be because of the tears he shed
That still is abandonment. When creating something or someone you have a certain responsibilty over it, what Ei did was less than the bare minimum. I don't blame Ei for what Scara himself has done later in life, as he at that point probably at least knew the general right from wrong. But it was a mistake of her to think leaving him on his own so soon after being created was the right thing to do. If she thought she couldn't care for him properly if he were to awaken, she could've given someone else the task of watching over him and teaching him about life.
I put on headphones and took a closer listen. In the first few seconds I could hear the pain and sadness is his voice. It wasn't all that subtle, either. Then, I could hear a slight bit of hopelessness and then anger, after anger, I could hear evil. WHY IS THE VOICE ACTOR SO GOOD?

“my mother” his backstory is genuinely so heartbreaking oh my god scaramouche is such a well written character, all his motives make so much sense. especially the voice acting, its so good. had chills the first time i saw the cutscene. cant wait to get him!
The way his tone changed when he said "....my mother" 0:27, I felt that, really my heart broke pleaseee. Scaramouche was so gentle and innocent with those smiles I cry. This cutscene is just full of emotions, the music, the art and VA really delivered i'm speechless.
Isn't it interesting how Ei wasn't able to deal with her grief and Scara has the same problem? I hope they will meet and talk it out but I guess that would take the drama out of their story. Scara needs help but he turned to the wrong people.
0:21 "the first to betray me was a god, *my creator... my mother..*" 💔 Scaramouche is pure love, and I will never really leave him for another character, Scara main forever.
i have known his backstory ever since the texts in tataratsuna and the husk set was introduced, but seeing it in full in his own words, it just makes more sense
If you know the lore from the Husk set, Katsuragikiri Nagamasa weapon, Rather Aged Notes, and Shakkei Pavillion, this cutscene officially pieces a timeline of Scara’s backstory. Definitely one of the most complex villains in Genshin (as of now), since there was a lot more going on behind the scenes than he let on in the cutscene. (For example, in the third betrayal there is no mention of Yae Miko whatsoever since he technically left the village and kid to get help from her to end a great disaster happening to them, but that help never came.) He equated pain with betrayal. This cutscene really made me cry so hard for about a week. Patrick did an amazing job voicing his inner turmoil and pain. Overall, definitely one of my favorite cutscenes in Genshin so far and I can’t wait to see him become a god. :D
Ok I'm seriously going to cry The voice acting was so good and it carried so many emotions The scenes made me feel a sudden sadness and hopelessness and also, I love Scara so much that it hurts and it's also sad to think that in real life, humans also get betrayed like this ;-; gajhfjahflhjka I love this thing
I wasn't in Scara's huge fanclub and was kinda neutral, but THAT voice acting and (and beautiful visualization) did a thing for me, I really start to get into his character Genshin recruited some pearls recently in terms of VA - Cyno, Dottore, Scara made me speechless with their voices (same thing happend for me with Dottore - va and some sick design made me actually interested in an already well known character i was neutral about before)
The way said "my mother" was absolutely heartbreaking... it's amazing to see what we know from artefacts lore taking shape in the form of this animation, I was speechless when I saw it for the first time!
I love his voice actor, he did such a great job with the emotion in this teaser. Scaramouche's story is so sad and i love him even more because of it, now he's more popular than ever with the appearances he's made this update
My first thought was that he just doesn't understand how to feel, what he is feeling and how to deal with it because no one taught him, so he formed it all into anger and betrayal, making him lock away his heart from others. He is, after all, not human but is kinda close to being one if he can feel at least some emotion, and human emotions are complicated on another level. Some people said Scara shouldn't view the death of the child like that because it wasn't the kid's fault, but how else is he supposed to understand it? The kid was supposed to be there and now isn't - in Scara's head, that's betrayal. Similar to the second person - I don't remember if he has a name or not, but similar thing. And Ei, well. Scara called her ''mother'', which was just heart-breaking. I would be interested to know how Ei would react to Scaramouche now if they ever met face to face. My bet is either on happy ending or Scara getting a typical Asian style beating from mom.
Ei already knows she screwed up. I doubt she'd be angry with him. She says she feels like she "owes him something". I hope that one day we'll get an event or story quest with Scara returning "home". The Traveler can help him process the feelings he doesn't understand. Maybe then Scara would decide that he wants to visit Inazuma. Maybe he would meet his creator, his mother. He wouldn't stay there, of course not, but... one more wound in his soul would start to heal.
Scaramouche shed tears at his own creation, which made Ei think he wouldn't be suited to life as her puppet. So she left him to wander as his own persona and live as an ordinary Inazuman citizen. Before joining the Fatui, he supposedly lived at the Shakkai Pavillion.
And like then she says "i feel like i owe him something" after bringing him to life just to neglect him like an old toy- like Ei of couryyou owe him something you owe him a proper life 💀
Because he was just a prototype? Luckily he let him live and gave him the seal that he was acting under the order of the archon. Only scaramouche is a little bit out of his mind. And scaramouche was never created to be his puppet, he was just a test of the technology. The only one that was created based on her likeness to be her puppet was the Raiden Shogun.

He’s only got like one layer and that’s just him misinterpreting things completely and reacting in extremes like Ei. Xiao, Zhongli, Alhaitham, and Cyno should gather up together in a group to roast his backstory and reasonings for his actions.
@@Zarozian copy paste// you can just say you dislike scaramouche no need to act dense on purpose lmao....point I was avoiding because it may sound insensitive, was you guys want scaramouche (who was very young and immature when all this happened) to act maturely when you like most others cry over comparatively minor incidents, villainise people who might have hurt you once and say your life is ruined etc. Scaramouche's reactions and how he associates everything with the first bad experience of his life makes him very realistic.
Sir Patrick Pedraza THE Scaramouche!! Never misses, never fails, he shines much too brightly here! Also people are SLEEPING on the “...he broke his promise to me!” because THAT WHOLE SCENE, the dialogue, the visuals, the tone of the music shifting and the editing was PERFECT! I felt like... I FELT.
this gave me a much better understanding of scara. i always thought he was just manic but he actually has a good reason to have all this hatred in his heart if he got betrayed by so many of his loved ones
Ei only "betrayed" Scaramouche because she didn't want Scara to be her puppet because he was like a human; he had emotions unlike the Raiden Shogun. So she gave Scara freedom, but I guess the way she expressed this to Scara made him feel otherwise.
Not really. She "betrayed" him cause he was useless xD. She didn't really give him freedom either cause freedom is a choice. She just put him in a deep slumber.
Honestly, I came back to rewatch this and I noticed at 1:06 and 1:13, Scara picked fruit but was struck on his left cheek for doing so. :( It really adds weight to how excited he was to see the kid.

its really sad how his last straw was the death of a child and how he saw it as betrayal. it really shows that as a sentient artificial being who for some reason has human emotions, he didn’t understand how to process the grief and emotions he felt after their death leading him to snap and choosing to erase all his emotions instead. he was basically a kid that didn’t understand how to deal with all the negative things that was happening to him
my god this one hits hard
He is still that kid, still trying to suppress his emotions.
this!! Ei discarded her creation, which she saw as freeing him. Scara, however, didn't understand why and saw it as being thrown away. He is a child having to learn the world with no guidance and taking it all in for himself. I can understand why he would feel betrayed by it all, he knows no different, and experiencing it so much, he probably doesn't see any different either. people need to remember this is HIS perspective, and his perspective will be different from ours, where we know the full story.
i mean, even animals can feel emotions. so even an human replicant can feel emotions too

1) Ei created him, then basically abandoned him/put him to sleep for a long time because he cried in his sleep.

Can you told me the story ,i didn't understand very will ,the Japanese name so hard to remember
@@HaDeS-X Scara (Kabukimono) met a man named Niwa in Tatarasuna and they became very good friends
One day, a man from Fontaine named Escher came to 'improve the forging qualities' and told the people they should use Crystal Marrow for the furnace
But that was a bad idea and the furnace let out dangerous black smoke
Since niwa was the highest authority in Tatarasuna, he was forced to tell no one in the village about what happened.
So instead, Yae Miko came, and told scara to send help to Tatarasuna
The help came, but no one in the village knew about the problem and Escher said everything is fine, Niwa fled out of fear and left the village, and scara went into the furnace to fix everything.
Scara felt betrayed because Niwa let him go into the furnace instead and abandoned him by leaving the village
Escher lied all the time, because actually, he was Dottore.
Since everyone in the village thought Niwa betrayed them, the blame fell to the second highest authority (Nagamasa)
So Nagamasa should get punished and be killed.
Do you think that's Nagamasa? We know Katsuragi is the muscular man, but out of context we could also assume that other man found Kabukimono, based on the dialogue.
His emotions and desire for revenge and 'to end it all' act basically shows that he could never rid of his humanly emotions.
well I'm to excited to see ei's pov and what her true feelings for her puppet
hearing he says "mother" "my family" "my friend"
sounds really heartbreaking, now i understand why he is like that.
but all this time, he doesnt really need gnosis but a love of a mother, family and a friend to be by his side.
Hurts more man
@@InactiveTwig He reminded her of Makoto though.
WHY IS THE VOICE ACTOR SO GOOD?
and loneliness
The feeling of pain when he says My Mother, The instruments after he says Abomination and everything after the boys death is beyond speechless for me
i remember seeing this in the archon quest and being blown away by the voice acting. whoever voiced him did such a fantastic job
The voice acting was really amazing. I love him even more
I'll never forget this cutscene. I love it sm. The voice acting, the music, the animation, the feelings this cutscene has in general is incredible. I love him sm.
0:38 love the way he adds tone when he says
*Human* :like he doesn't think much of them, and then
*family* :remembers something from past/ kinda nostalgic in a way
and the
*friend* : when recalls the betrayals
It's hard to dislike a character if we know why they are that way that they are, especially if it's for a good reason, Scaramouche being no different.
Hoyo really treating us with these visuals and amazing voice acting.
A reason is not an excuse and it is even easier to dislike a character when you find out their reason is so petty
@@jarlbalgruuf2415 yesss 😭 like his friend dies and he goes "BETRAYAL"
@@jarlbalgruuf2415 idk man.. Some ppl just think the world have fucked them over, so there is no need to be nice anymore....
And if u think scara's reason is "petty" than think again.. Yes his "betrayals" were misinterpreted by him but that's because he didn't understand how to react to emotions and death.. Mainly because he doesn't have anyone to teach him that.. That's why a parents upbringing is important
Not saying ei is completely to be blame her since she was in pain and grieving too at the time.. But perhaps ending his life as yae stated is a better choice by sparing him all the pains
@@noobdraend2555 think again? You're not convincing anyone like that lol
Idk man his tipping point was his human friend dying? Sounds kinda unreasonable.

Isn't it interesting how Ei wasn't able to deal with her grief and Scara has the same problem? I hope they will meet and talk it out but I guess that would take the drama out of their story. Scara needs help but he turned to the wrong people.

@@MistressMelancholic Oh thanks. I knew the story from the Archon quest 😅 just not the animation
i have known his backstory ever since the texts in tataratsuna and the husk set was introduced, but seeing it in full
in his own words, it just makes more sense

Where do you get the text? Is it pieces of paper that scattered around to make a book?
@@kimjunguwu7340 the texts are scattered all over tataratsuna, the pages we collect in inazuma are for a book about baku danuki
(For example, in the third betrayal there is no mention of Yae Miko whatsoever since he technically left the village and kid to get help from her to end a great disaster happening to them, but that help never came.)
He equated pain with betrayal. This cutscene really made me cry so hard for about a week. Patrick did an amazing job voicing his inner turmoil and pain.
Overall, definitely one of my favorite cutscenes in Genshin so far and I can’t wait to see him become a god. :D
Ok I'm seriously going to cry
The voice acting was so good and it carried so many emotions
The scenes made me feel a sudden sadness and hopelessness
and also, I love Scara so much that it hurts
and it's also sad to think that in real life, humans also get betrayed like this ;-;
gajhfjahflhjka I love this thing
I wasn't in Scara's huge fanclub and was kinda neutral, but THAT voice acting and (and beautiful visualization) did a thing for me, I really start to get into his character
Genshin recruited some pearls recently in terms of VA - Cyno, Dottore, Scara made me speechless with their voices (same thing happend for me with Dottore - va and some sick design made me actually interested in an already well known character i was neutral about before)
Calling the death of a child a betrayal really shows how messed up in the head he is and how he needs someone to teach him human emotions 💔
He needs to be roasted by Zhongli, Alhaitham, Cyno, and Xiao and get a firm beating from all of them with a good lesson on how to cope.
Apart
He already did understand human emotion, he felt anger
He already has some. He felt betrayed because the boy died, thus "abandoning" him. Technically leaving him all al9ne again.
He no longer needs to be taught about human emotions when he's going to destroy everyone.
The way said "my mother" was absolutely heartbreaking... it's amazing to see what we know from artefacts lore taking shape in the form of this animation, I was speechless when I saw it for the first time!
mommy issues haha funni
I love his voice actor, he did such a great job with the emotion in this teaser. Scaramouche's story is so sad and i love him even more because of it, now he's more popular than ever with the appearances he's made this update
Now coming back to this after the teaser, i can literary understand it better than before.
Now coming back after finishing the interlude quest and it hurts a whole lot more than it did before.
Uh.. typical Asian style beating from mom.. but on god's level..
@@FahrizalSurya oh shiii the electric belt
*SCARAMOUCHE*
And like then she says "i feel like i owe him something" after bringing him to life just to neglect him like an old toy- like Ei of couryyou owe him something you owe him a proper life 💀
@@InactiveTwig It's actually more depressing than that. Scaramouche reminded her of Makoto.
Because he was just a prototype? Luckily he let him live and gave him the seal that he was acting under the order of the archon. Only scaramouche is a little bit out of his mind.
And scaramouche was never created to be his puppet, he was just a test of the technology. The only one that was created based on her likeness to be her puppet was the Raiden Shogun.

you can just say you dislike scaramouche no need to act dense on purpose lmao....point I was avoiding because it may sound insensitive, was you guys want scaramouche (who was very young and immature when all this happened) to act maturely when you like most others cry over comparatively minor incidents, villainise people who might have hurt you once and say your life is ruined etc.
Geez I still come back to this trailer. I don't even play genshin anymore but the performance when he says "my mother" is so heart breaking.
Ei only "betrayed" Scaramouche because she didn't want Scara to be her puppet because he was like a human; he had emotions unlike the Raiden Shogun. So she gave Scara freedom, but I guess the way she expressed this to Scara made him feel otherwise.
Yeah it's just Ei having good intentions but bad execution like with how she handled ruling inazuma.
Not really. She "betrayed" him cause he was useless xD. She didn't really give him freedom either cause freedom is a choice. She just put him in a deep slumber.
Yes. The way Ei showed her kindness was loathsome to Scara
She refused to take any responsibility
What she did definitely classifies as betrayal
Good intentions or not, leaving what is essentially your child out on the streets with no explaination, no support, no help, is abandonment.
Honestly, I came back to rewatch this and I noticed at 1:06 and 1:13, Scara picked fruit but was struck on his left cheek for doing so. :( It really adds weight to how excited he was to see the kid.
