Fellow Burmese? How come?
Is there going to be new doctor yellow?
not anymore, they will incorporate the inspection technology to normal shinkansen
@_nihongo_jouzu_ aw that sad
@@_nihongo_jouzu_ Nope there will be a new Dr Yellow coming soon in 2027 using N700S
JR West still has Dr. Yellow
@@_nihongo_jouzu_ They can't really do that. Rail inspection trains will carry some systems that are not really conducive to passenger operations. Regular passenger trains may get additional and better sensors to more easily detect and report variations in rail spacing and such to headquarters. But the inspection trains are doing some very different things than that when examining the rails.
Im sure all new Shinkansins could do the job by themselves .
Wouldn't there be a new generation of Doctor Yellow?
Im sure you will see it around from time to time.
I'm rather surprised? 24 years is not a long life for an inspection train. Given the high costs of the gear that it carries. Most rail systems will swap out and upgrade individual pieces of the train as technology improves. So Car #1 may be switched for newer tech next year. Or the front and rear engines/power/control cars may be replaced another. Retiring the entire train all at once after a fairly short lifecycle seems odd?
I suspect operative cost is one thing, like mentioned they are only used a couple of times a month, but they still need to be maintained.
suppose they have new ones on order
From wiki:
"They are scheduled to be replaced with commercial N700S Series Shinkansen trains that incorporate inspection and observation equipment."
Preservation?
So there is one last train .. god I gotta save up faster
