One Of The Best Rivalries In Motocross History

  • This is a Motocross highlights video of the Epic rivalry between James Stewart and Chad Reed. This rivalry was one of the best the sport has ever seen as it was action packed and long lived. It started in 2002 where Stewart and Reed would battle multiple times in the 125cc Pro Motocross Championship. Reed would move to the 250 class in 2003 leaving the rivalry in limbo for several years. 2005 would see Stewart move up and the rivalry started where it left off. 2007 and 2009 would see the most intense battles and heated exchanges as they battled for the AMA Supercross Championship. They battled all the way until 2014 as both were now veterans of the 450 ranks, but could still win races. If anything this is one of the most memorable rivalries in Motocross history. Look for other riders like Ricky Carmichael to get in the mix. This is One Of The Best Rivalries In Motocross History. #motocross #supercross #dirtbike

    Reed: Consistent & Gritty. Stew: Fast & Innovative. JS undeniably had the speed on Reed most days but admitted himself that many times he couldn't ever break Reed and that was the most difficult part. When you look at the Supercross books Reed had many more seasons with a close title run by consistently being in the points. Stew's inconsistencies kept him away from being in the title fight more often than he was in. Of the years JS completed without completely crashing out only 2006 he came 2nd tied with Reed just 2 points behind RC4. For Reed on the other hand his points for: 03, 05, 06, 09, 11 were -7, -25, -2, -4, -4 (respectively.) Just one race going differently for Reed in each of those seasons could have resulted in a total of 7 Supercross titles. He certainly didn't have the outright speed most years to push 55+ wins but in 2010-2014 Reed seemed revived and still had a lot of speed keeping it very close with Villopoto. It is much harder to predict how close JS could have been to more title's because he had so many seasons end very early. In the end no one can deny that they are each extremely talented riders each with a very different style. Bubba's World podcast has been such an awesome thing for the MX/SX community and if you have not seen it you certainly should. Going through the mind of one of the sports greatest ever riders hearing all of his own ideas and takes on various events/races has been so refreshing and we can all appreciate Stew sharing with us!

    Stewart always shows respect and rides with class determined to win clean. A little rubbing/ blocking is racing. Unlike Chad going for throat cuts (og bam bam) and taking things too personal like a girl. Both are phenomenal riders.

    James S beating people on a 250 2 stroke against 450 4 strokes. If that doesn’t tell you anything then you will never understand. He’s racing a bike 200cc less yet keeping up and beating this larger cc bikes. Now imagine if it was fair and they made the cc’s equal which would mean a 250T against a 250F. We all know how bad that would turn out. So why do people think the 4 stroke is better when they clearly can’t compete with equal cc’s which tells us what the best motocross engine is. 2 strokes were built to race. Nothing like the scream of a 2 stroke

    This was the transition between the 2vs4 stroke rather than reed vs stewart. Reed was always slower and less talented then stewart but on a more powerful, more tractable power then JS7. James was the predominant talent and Reed was a chump asshole.

      Stew and Ricky had one full season of racing pretty much than Ricky went part time and retired. Chad and Stew battled for over a decade it’s very odd so many of you knock Reed I can’t think of anyone in any sport other than Tom Brady that stayed a top 5 guy for 15+ years.

      @mixerguru ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@jonruger well Tom and Chad have very little in common as Reed may have competed for 20 years and Rick is definitely a rock-star but Stewart was goddamn Mozart Racing motocross looked different for ever, everywhere . Not only does it look different but how you think of time and speed on a track evolved generations in those few years before he was twenty . by the time 05 out door season everyone rode like he did everyone ! or tried to it must have been surreal like the Eurotrash MotoGP riders when Kenny Roberts went flying by them dragging his knee on the track. In a couple years the whole world would ride that way Their techniques became part of the fundamentals of racing and riding . Reed is Rocky flat foot puncher gets beat often but shows up . Ricky was amazing when Stew challenged him he was probably hoping he didnt have to go that fast ever but he did it those battles were so relentless still give me chills
