@@johnrego9843 Assembler companies are still manufacturers. Just because they don’t have a full supply chain doesn’t mean you can demean them. These companies are generating employment, which is a significant contribution. Also, LED silica is a highly technical material that requires large-scale fabrication facilities to be viable. The real issue lies with the government’s failure to implement effective policies, not with the assemblers. Even the first semiconductor plant in India, by TATA, is only set to start operations in 2028.
Fastest rollout of green energy was because of private industry and inspite of policies of government. But we seem to be happy too soon. Countries like China do not stop till they have complete dominance. We seem to side step and start celebrating minor achievements
What govt. must do is simply put money is developing reliable EV charging infrastructure throughout India in cooperation with state governments. There is no need for any subsidies.
First bring Nuclear Power plants.. don't fool common people to buy EV when maximum power plants in India is Thermal Power plants which use fossil fuel to generate electricity.. I suggest the Ministry to take some education classes 😂😂
Piyush does not see the fact in front of him that China EV wouldnt be where it is ie on the forefront of world market (esp battery tech) but for wholehearted support from their government including subsidies.
Thats the dilemma. They want private sector to invest but govt dont want to provide any subsidies. Also govt does not want see any NPA from existing auto ancillaries. Also govt dont want to give any preferential loans to Batteries especially manufacturing anode, cathode, electrolyte. Also govt does not want any bankruptcies from new age companies. Also govt wants these new companies to have 30% ROI. Neither govt wants to commit $500bn in losses nor existing players want them to go bust. there is no way ahead. it's a dead end situation
India must take the lead in the EV revolution. We must not miss this once in a lifetime opportunity to become an EV export and manufacturing hub. Europe car industry which is heavily dependent on ICE is collapsing.
The irony is that to have taken the lead in EVs, the decision would have had to be made in 2010, which is exactly what China did. You cannot take the lead in something when it's already here; you need to have the foresight years if not decades in advance to build up the infrastructure and supply chains. The once in a lifetime opportunity came and went 15 years ago. Probably one of the reasons India won't be doing anything of note while run the way it is. The only thing India has to offer the world is cheap labour.
The industry totally depends on the customer.... Customer must change their mindset Government will appreciate..... That's why earner pay taxes The Government will tell us data ..... ...
Those are all hypothetical concepts, there are hundreds like those. Alum batteries are extremely heavy, much more heavy than Li ion so it's right now impractical for cars / bikes.
@siddharthgoyal4008 No. They are lighter than Lithium ion battery, because they don't have oxidizer. Indian Oil signed JV with Israeli company and got the technology.
Yeah move out subsidy, No problem but also move out Import duty on batteries completely. Battery prices have dropped to 53$ per KWh, from 150 per KWh. Let the end user get this benefit and then, your subsidy is not required.
Remember it was the idealistic and unsupportive policies of BJP during Vajpayee with indiscriminate FTA which allowed China to kill Indian Industry through predatory pricing - which the local Industry is still struggling to come out of. The least this government could do is to acknowledge the harm and the need to do something special to reverse the same - do something to incentivise the local industry. I see much more time spent on Tesla and less time spent on Indian green and EV industry with huge emloyment generation potential. BJP ministry of Gadkari is not getting support from Piyush Goel . Hybrid is a great concept that reduces imported fuel consumption by 50% or more. This guy needs some introspection and lessons in growing economy and employment from China
He is contradicting himself on plug in Hybrid cars . Hybrid cars have two systems in one car making it expensive- it needs a lot of design and control systems . But he would not give any incentive and opportunity to the car makers to increase hybrid. Just making statements does not help the cars makers
I don’t think he understands the complexity in EV - because of continuous innovation and non availability of raw materials in the country which need to be replaced with innovation. This means research and who is going to pay for same
We can do it. We should do it. We can lead the world. Its a great opportunity for our country. We can be no.1 Its all well and good. Good for inspiring the youth. But the only problem is, where are the materials, industry capable etc.... There is a reason why US companies like Apple, Tesla etc. chose China. Its because these things require SKILLED WORKERS. Apple CEO already told why they can't make phones in US, the technique and technology require extra skilled people which is only present in China. Its not about education, its about Skilled Worker for that specific role. This leader is just blabbing thinking it can be done tomorrow, even the US and Europe can't do it. 🤷🏻♂️
After EV subsidy is removed no one will buy EV cars as they will get wven more expensive and people will decide to extend their old vehicle registrations by 5 more years. Lets wait for the hydrogen fuel cell / water engine based cars..
Worst service my ola S1 air is at service center from a month they have thrown it outside and no response from their side and no service centers nearby i have to travel 80km to reach this center and still no use they have not even started service as theyre saying mail not accepted by the company this is not even poor service there is no service at all my emi and petrol bill at 8000 monthly , i very much regrett buying this , plz dont fall into this trap
Goyal, do not give subsidy. Do not allow Ambani to sell processed Russian oul to Europe. Tell them sell oil in India. Apply GST on Oil. Remove VAT. phir logo ko backchodi wala gyan dena.
China controls most of the EV battery business. They have monopoly in battery manufacturing. Can India afford to have its transport on the mercy of China? Not unless India finds its own lithium reserves or cheap alternate to lithium batteries. Also, both center and state govts make lots of money from tax on petrol/diesel sale. How would govts will recover taxes if petrol sales go down? What India needs is hydrogen based vehicles where hydrogen fuel is produced locally in India.
Tips: China is also the world's largest producer of hydrogen now. If u guys want do something at Hydrogen-powered vehicles area . not only china ,Japan was already hiding behind.
As an LED Lighting Manufacturer i can say Indian Led lighting industry will totally Collapse without China.

Forget about making EV's. We can't even make batteries for them😄😄😄😄
its really bad comparison of led bulb ev cars !!!! it will make more sense for govt not to loot 50% of the cost of car at first
Government need money we should say they use that money for infrastructure.
We ask there for money use bill .
