First of all, greetings from Venezuela. I was just passing by to make some comments. - Dead Sky is based on STALKER Clear Sky GSWR This add-on is responsible for the new x64 Advanced X-Ray engine, the 3D PDA and the weapons package based on StCS + STCoP and also adds a beautiful graphic add-on called GSWR which renews all the weather and environmental section of the game under this engine. Dead Sky was previously porting Gunslinger if I remember correctly, but restarted his project in Advanced X-Ray because it was almost all ready practically and only had to port weapons and adapt a texture pack (which was what he did) among other changes that I'm sure he did personally. - Dark Mod It is also based on Advanced X-Ray + GSWR. - Clear Sky LFO (Last Fallout Overhaul) Also based on Advanced X-Ray + GSWR but at least this one has a lot of original work done and adapted by the developers themselves. The reason: My comment goes for the fact that it is “MFS Team” who provided the resources and can achieve this kind of results with graphics/tech by having created the Advanced X-Ray engine, the GSWR package, Adapt Weapon Packs, Shaders (SSS), Animations for consumables, etc. And these Modpacks (Dark mod, Dead Sky, etc) are based on the work of MFS Team. An apology if my comment is out of place, but I felt the unnecessary need to do so. - I also add that the work of MFS Team is also compatible with STALKER Call of Pripyat where you also have the same features that you see in Dead Sky and even the same weapon pack (A little different since CoP retains the pure StCoP while CS is a fusion between StCS and some StCoP) although of course with a texture pack more modest than the Dead Sky adaptation. About the Dead Sky. It is based on Advanced X-ray but on LFO branch because we cooperate with LFO author. We are using G.S.W.R Weather but we are working on our own version of it with better skyboxes etc. We are still using Gunslinger and not only that - the author of cancelled weapon pack - The Chernobyl Ordinance - before it was leaked (from what i've been told) sent it to us and let us use it in Dead Sky, which contains very good, unique weapons on Gunslinger animations. We also used I.W.P in Dead Sky (not all weapon's of course). Developers from Dead Sky Team who are working on weapons also did their great job, as a example - All pistols that are right now in Dead Sky are using EFT models with adapted Gunslinger animations (Wow, who would know that we gonna use something different than Gunslinger huh). There are also other weapons that our developers been working on like SVT-40, VPO-215, AKS74U, LR300, SKS etc. There are more weapons that they been working on but it would be too much of writting. And...OTs-33 Kiparis is the only weapon we used from STCoP xd. We didn't ported any other weapons from STCS or STCoP. Andddddd..... Nope, we didn't only had to adapt textures and weapons. New engine allowed us to do MUCH MORE than we had in plans. Mod is not only changing the graphic and weapons, we also want to rebalance the whole economy, gameplay, gunplay, add new levels, new mechanics etc. We even have in plans to add new quests, but for now we are focusing on other stuff. I think calling Dead Sky a modpack is a bit of a misnomer, it's a fact - it's not 100% our work, but we have our OWN fair share in Dead Sky, it's not just copy pasting. Although the currently released alpha version does not include the changes that are on our to-do list, I can give you as an example that we have been sitting for several days on balancing damage, economy, the whole gunplay (damage, accuracy, etc.) and unfortunately this takes a long time and requires our patience and a lot of testing because we are doing it ourselves, the same with the interface, improving optimisation, making sounds from 0, fixing vanilla Clear Sky problems, working on textures (Author of texture mod that he added to Dead Sky is also DS developer). We have our original work there too. I could list a lot of things, but I'm tired for now xd No hate of course :]
@@Susel_1 - My respects, comrade, and a thousand thanks for taking the time to clarify everything in detail. Truth be told, after reading everything you've done, I take back the things I said wrongly, it's certainly been a while since I've updated on your Mod. I understand now why you'd rather we didn't consider it a “modpack,” because you've put a whole “dream factory” in there. It's amazing to know that in addition to the Gunslinger jewels and the “lost” content from Chernobyl Ordinance, they've integrated models like those from Escape from Tarkov (EFT). I can only imagine how epic it will be to see an SVT-40 or a VPO-215 with such smooth animations. And not to mention the infinite patience needed to rebalance the entire combat system, economy, and even create new missions. I am a Mod translator (Spanish) and I also dedicate some time to Modding to improve the Mods that I translate visually and technically but nothing too deep so I know perfectly well the time that these processes require. I deeply appreciate that you are addressing even the optimization issues and interface tweaks, I really don't have much time playing STALKER (3 years) but I always like to see new things and explore beyond popular or overrated Mods (Anomaly jejmejasd). Lastly, even though Dead Sky has a base of Advanced X-Ray and LFO, the fact that you are working on improvements for G.S.W.R makes me think that this mod is shaping up to make a mark in the STALKER community. best wishes to you and your work! Thanks again for the detailed response.

I'm on a playthrough of clear sky (making my way through the stalker games) on the level after red forest. It's torture man, I've got no bandages or health kits. Am I close to the end of the game?
Is Dead Sky's storyline faithful to the og clear sky? Like good for a first time playthrough, and does it keep the aesthetic of clear sky in spirit or change it to dark and grey like dead air?
@@CptVityaz SRP is too vanilla and feels outdated coming from cop and anomaly so long as storyline is intact DS for clear sky and radiophobia for shoc seems the only way to enjoy the old story with modern visuals and animations
Having trouble getting this to work. I extracted the mod and copy/pasted all files to my Stalker Clear Sky folder but when I launch it through Steam it seems to just be vanilla Clear Sky still. What gives?
@CptVityaz Update. Got it to boot up after running oalinst in the DRIVERS folder and even managed to start a game. However, im not sure if this is the nature of it being an Alpha but my entire screen is nearly pitch black and dark yet my HUD and backpack seem to open just fine. It looks like someone turned my gamma/brightness all the way down yet the sliders are where they should be. Not sure how to fix it but it's unplayable right now.
😭Don't worry dawg, you can still downgrade the graphics to looks identical to vanilla CS graphics, I defenitely did NOT realize that and needed to re-record the whole footage with better graphics.
You gotta download the mod file from the link provided in their server, then download the patch. Extract the contents of the main mod files into a CLEAN install of Clear Sky, confirm any file replacements. Then do the same with the patch. But I really, REALLY, recommend you wait for at least a Beta, the stuff in this version is really broken and downright unusuable, plus the dev is taking a break for reasons I cannot disclose, but knock yourself out.
(we paid him to do it)
