Thank you i had my procedure on Friday and they sent me home same day. I had total hysterectomy, removal of large fibrods and a prolapse bladder repair. They sent me home same day only with 800 mg of ibprphon. I am in alot of pain, and the first bowl movement was horrible last nt. Thank you for you story. My body feels like i got hit by a truck. Hopefully it starts to get better day by day.

I am in my 5th wk of recovery after a bladder prolaspe suspension/vaginal wall repair/vaginal cuff that was needed because I also had a healthy uterus & cervix removed because after seeingv2 different specialist (urogyn) I was told that the uterus only adds weight to the bladder if left in & so there I went & agreed to have it removed. To my great surprise I also noticed unexpected sutures on the outside! It's crazy what us women can endure & still live to talk about it! God speed to you & plz take it easy, do NOT rush to get back to "normalcy". I am planning on taking my time in this healing process as I am terrified to injure anything that has been stitched! Do not oush a grocery cart! NOT even an empty one as turningvit does its damage & it will case pain. I tried it after 4wk.s n2 my recovery & I felt that!
Thank you for sharing your experience!!🙏
P.S. witch hazel on a baby wipe helps keep it clean & fresh down there. It's also soothing!

Hi Elena! I’m glad you found my channel. I’m almost 2.5 years past my surgery at this point. I’ve got lots of videos about my recovery over the last few years. Be sure to check out my 18 mos and later recovery videos, as they discuss the need for pelvic floor PT to help with scar tissue and nerve pain. Since you had stitches, you will likely need it also. Good luck on your recovery!

Thank you so much for this, so sorry you are having so much pain, I am 80 yrs old and in good health and was going to go for this option instead of using a pessary but no I cannot think of going thru this surgery. I did not realize post op could be this bad. I know you will heal but wow you are really going thru it. Hoping tomorrow will be better.

Hello. My surgery was very involved. Most women would not experience such pain. Especially at your age. I am not sounding rude, but at your age, you do not have nearly as many nerve endings in that area to cause pain. I also had my surgery done completely by hand stitching. At your age, I would just recommend a doctor using modern style mesh to hold up your bladder, or minimal stitches. Most of my pain was caused by my perennial repair. I can confidently say that I do not think your surgery or recovery would be as painful as mine.but, regardless, at three years surgery I have no pain at all, and that was worth it.

Day 3 A.M. doing well and had movement. My life is my bathroom right now. Pain level doable so far with Motrim and Tylenol plus Oxy . Staff at MH was great and Dr. V is a wonder!

I am so glad that things are going well for you, and that you have found my channel helpful! I’m also glad that you found your way to Dr. V. He really is the best, especially in this area. I haven’t had to see him since a couple of months after my surgery, but I am naïvely hoping that he never retires lol

Thanks so much for sharing! You are right there is nothing online like this. I’m having a hysterectomy and Sacrocolpopexy I have uterine and vaginal vault prolapse, bladder, bowel, and small intestine prolapse I couldn’t spell all the technical names for them lol. I’m having surgery next week. I have ten kids so I’m super worried about recovery. Thanks so much for sharing your experience.

It sounds like your surgery will be very similar to mine. At least as far as what they need to fix. Prayers for a speedy recovery, but I definitely can’t imagine trying to recover with 10 kiddos at home. I hope at least some of them are at an age where they can be super helpful to you. Good luck, and shoot me an email if you have any specific questions before or after your surgery!

Hello and thank you soo much for sharing. I remember hearing you speak of sharp pain in your leg in one of your videos- can you tell me what the cause was and if you still have it? I’m 4 weeks post surgery and still quite a bit of pain in my left leg for time to time. Thanks ❤

    • @personalprolapsestory
      @personalprolapsestory  ปีที่แล้ว +2

Hi. Yes, I STILL have shooting leg pain from time to time. It is related to pinched/compressed pelvic floor nerves. Specifically, the Pudenal nerve that runs down your leg. This can be caused be prolapse, scar tissue after surgery, or spastic/hypertonic muscles in the pelvic floor pinching nerves. Of course there could be other culprits for the pain, but research Pudenal nerve pain/neuralgia and see if is sounds like what you have. I’d you think so, I highly encourage you to see a well trained pelvic floor physical therapist. Check out my 2 year update and my misconceptions video for more about what I’ve done about my pain.

Ok, stopping video now for shower/ exploration. Stitches on the perinium would sure explain why I feel like if been hit in the goodies with a bat.
Unlike you, I have no suprapubic catheter.

Showered and explored, and, like you, I also have sutures where the episiotomies were. That sure explains the pain toward the back.

      Louise,
I’m so sorry to hear that you were going through this. I can’t imagine that. Luckily, I did not have voiding issues after my Supra pubic catheter was removed, and I was honestly able to get it out relatively quickly. Did you have an SPC, or just the Foley catheter? The suprapubic catheter is one way to avoid having voiding issues in many cases, but I’m not sure if you had that or not. I don’t know what to suggest other than to KEEP ADVOCATING. Don’t settle for suffering, and get as many opinions as you need to!

I cannot imagine being sent home with only Motrin I would never agree to have this surgery unless pain medication was prescribed that seems inhumane I’m talking about one of the comments
