@@jaytassy2974 eh. At least some are genuinely interesting or historic archetypes. Lab is my favorite deck (judge if you wish). Because it suits me. I prefer to play a long game and out-resource my opponent and control the game.
I had a competitive worm deck around 2013. Ran evil dragon anata late game for the reptile removal lol. Cyber dragon, neo grand moles were some of the techs I remember having in the deck. Nebula meteorite was great support back then. Good times lol.
Honestly, what I think Worms could use the most is not necessarily stronger monsters, but easier access to their gimmicks. A field spell based on the polluted lands the worm carcasses created that allows you to flip monsters at quick effect speed and giving a boost for every worm with a different name would be sick.
The only real hope for Worms is probably a carte blanche set of retrains; keep the alphabetical theme but make some actual spell/trap support in place of some monsters (because no archetype needs 26 differently named monsters), maybe with a new name (I personally go for "Wormspawn" whenever I think about this)
Kinda like what they did with the Earthbound "Servant" archetype. Lore-wise they could make it look like the Worms doubling their efforts against the Ally of Justice.
(2:22) Here's a rabbit hole for you: The Labyrinth Wall archetype (not to be confused with the Gate Gaurdian archetype) is every bit as opposite to the Gradius cards as the B.E.S. monsters are (mechanically), and arguably moreso. The Gradius cards are starfighters that pull all sorts of high-flying acrobatic maneuvers: The core of the Labyrinth Wall archetype is literally a wall, and every one of their monsters is grounded. The Gradius cards consist of- and synergize well with- Level 4 and lower LIGHT monsters with 1,200 ATK or less: Labyrinth Wall Shadow prevents cards lower than level 5 from attacking, and destroys 1 of your opponent's monsters with less than 1,600 ATK per turn. Most Gradius cards are effect monsters (ironically with the exception of Gradius itself): Most Labyrinth Wall monsters are either normal monsters or non-effect fusion monsters, with the 1 link monster of the archetype specifically boosting non-effect monsters by 500 ATK. And what brings this all up? At the time stamp above, the level 5 monster "Dungeon Worm" (1,800 ATK, for the curious) is shown. Also the Gradius archetype supports the crap out of specifically level 4 LIGHT monsters, especially if they have 1,200 ATK or less. (3:56) If Ancient Gear Knight has been flipped face down by Gemini Counter, you can activate Terrors in the Hidden City and normal summon this card to boost Ancient Gear Knight's ATK to 3,300. (9:01) Haven't seen a hole like that since Citrine (Warframe). (14:21) See also: Tactical Espionage Expert. (23:56) "SCRAP! SCRAP! SCRAP! SCRAP!" (24:02) "CRAP!"
Worms is the archetype I wish Konami reworks from the ground up. Forget adding new cards, just rework everything Worms have and give it a core identity reflecting their lore.
My first archtype and entry point to heavy lore in yugioh cards. Once in a while i try to make them work only to fail. Thanks for the video and the tech cards so i can try new ideas. I think you missed some of the krawler support that could help like the World legacy armor that can be special summoned and search the continuos trap that can flip them up.
I gotta Protect Worm Linx: The effect lets you draw a card during EACH end phase. This makes Linx one of the strongest draw engines in the entire game if you can protect it. When combined with Waboku or other cards that can prevent the cards destruction then this time is a advantage machine. I loved using it in old burn decks since they already were good at stalling the opponent and chipping away at their health. With Linx it allowed them to go into overdrive and spam the field with traps and protection methods while still maintaining a strong back up hand with things like empress staff for the worst case scenario.
Man I really love this archetype alongside the grey cradles, specially my boys worm Linx and Millidith. Those were pretty helpful in my first self-built deck for Master Duel :(
Really looking forward to Living Lore Part 5 at end of the year, as well as Firefist explained You make amazing videos Nova, keep up the excellent work.
Kinda sucks that if we ever even get worm support it will probably be spell trap support, and that if that's the case then it will basically just be polishing rust, The deck basically has maybe 6 playable monsters, but each one maybe synergizes with a singular one of those 6. Idk, maybe they will do something unexpected and print Worm Ωmega or something.
I've been meaning to say something for a while now (but just never having the time), but I'm a little surprised we don't have a Blue-Eyes Explained or a Dark Magician Explainedvideo. Honestly, I kinda want to see one IF ONLY just to see it ranked on the NOVA scale. Also, we finally have something rank lower than a 10 on the NOVA scale, and I thought Flamvell was a tough act to follow
I love the reptile worm deck, however i do use other cards that you didn’t mention in my deck. Like the shedding skin magic card works especially well with gulse and the octopus worm one. Although it’s been a long time since i played, since it just doesn’t really stand up well to modern decks.
1) falco can be used to do an infinite with "All Out attack", since having 2 falco, one special summoned face up and the other face down with burst rebirth, causes both falcos to activate and book the other then "all out attack" flips the booked one face up and repeats (yes this basically does nothing since there's no burn effect in archetype) 2) linx draws one card each end phase if it stays, so if it survives, you have massive card advantage drawing 1 in the enemy endphase and 1 in your endphase and that for as long as it's face up 3) queen's effect tribute queen into victory is their win condition 4) yes, Xex and Yagan are still the best Worm monsters to this day
Worm Solid makes me think a "Good" Worms design for the era would be splitting the 26 monsters between "Punish you if you attack them face down" and "Weak Defense Monsters who have powerful flip effects, perhaps punishing non-combat removal face-down." It'd reflect their Infiltrator aesthetic by punishing you if you try to fight it unprepared. I think a stupid (and great) name for a hypothetical field spell would be, instead of any letter, it's either "Worm Space" or "Worm Period." "Worm Space" could be some way to chain your Worms together and get some field presence instead of relying on Special Summoning (as you put the Space between the letters). "Worm Period" could be some way to flip your worms back down without requiring two other specific worms that both suck (period is the end, then you start a new sentence). And finally, the stupidest idea of all: "Worm Sentence to the Planet" would be their archetype fusion where you can fuse Worms from your GY and Deck 1:1 to create your final-boss Worm Zero (And slap some sort of effect protection on him for good measure).
i feel that some new support via some link monsters and other summon methods, these things could see some degree of a return and it would be on brand for their lore
How to fix them make a field spell that says non worm monsters cannot be special summoned face up except from the extra deck and you can only control reptiles. If you would special summon a monster you can summon it face down. Quick effect you can use each effect once per turn 1 change a face down face up 2 change a face up face down. Your set monsters cannot be targeted or destroyed by card effects. new fusion boss: 2+ worms can be summoned face down by banishing up to one worm card from hand field and gy each this is counted as fusion summon Flipp: take up to one card from your opponent from every place you used a fusion material for this cards summon and add them to your hand without looking at their hand/deck. Once per turn if this card is sent to the gy you can set as many worms from deck or banished zone as fusion material used for this card. A new starter monster Quick effect change a face down monster face up to special summon this card. If sommoned add 1 worm spell/trap or w nebula meteorite to hand. a funny flip guy Flipp: fusion summon using this card and up to two worms from deck hand field banished zone and put them to the gy. And errata all the drawbacks and make them upsides instead. Worm Prince for example if it's the only face up destroy an opponents card. Worm hope sending a reptile from deck instead from hand. Yagan should be summoneable when you control any worm monster. Millidith should just steal instead of burn. Yeah I really like them even though they are worms. 😊
Worms might not be that difficult to retrain while still retaining their theme. You can still keep their alphabet theming but give them better effects. You could even just pick out the Worm monsters that do their letter a disservice and replace them with another that is just better.

How would you fix flip or how would you make a arch type with them as there main gimmick I thinking a 3 card monte or find the lady deck were there all flip pendulum monsters with there spells acting as cheats or lp wager adjustments Were both wager lp for the round if they lose you get the lp and if they win they get the lp
Thankfully we DO have some good flip decks out there. Subterror showed us what a strong control variant would look like, at least the Guru version, and Prediction Princess actually have the capacity to do some HEINOUS stuff.

Fun fact. Two worm monsters appeared in your starting deck of stardust accelerator. Those being A and B

About worm Zero, I'm not too deep into fusion sooooo, how do i fuse more than 5 monsters 🙃
