honestly i actually love how they changed the characters in a way that makes them more believable, like why they are the way they are and not just "ops he fell in a vat of clown juice how hes insane" and having harley already in that state of mind makes more sense than her being doctor who falls for him alot more grounded in reality while keeping the characters feel the same
I think that's what made the first one so successful. it is realistic and it can happen to anyone of us. so I appreciate that they brought Harley's character back down to reality. that's why it's so chilling and scary
I know a lot of people are turned off by musicals, but I love ART. I really enjoy seeing people's takes on different mediums of art expression. I want things to be different. Variety is the spice of life. Bring on the musical baby. Really curious to see how they've done it.
Tbf... making this a musical or adding up a lot of art, kind of makes... It shows how they view the world and all, or at least a different perspective on how other people see it...
i feel alot of people are turned off by musicals due to how most musicals are done like having way too many songs all the time that take you out of the story, however there are a couple that do it a good way, hoping for this they might have 3 or 4 songs through that fit the story as it shows them on stage so many it could be during them being in hospital it could be used to represent their relationship and showing how they imagine it being with their own delusions
it looks as if the music is part of their folie a deux delusions, showing the dancing on the roof scene in contrast to whats actually happening aka them dancing in the streets while literally everything is on fire. i like how this clip shows Harley has already slipped into her madness and is a current patient in the asylum alongside him. This makes it more realistic that they'd fall for each other, bc this Arthur Fleck Joker isnt Heath Ledger's ex military Jack Napier Joker who is super aware and can mentally manipulate. He can barely keep his own ties to reality, let alone break someone else's! this looks FANTASTIC!!!
Trailer is chefs kiss. It looks great. Every shot especially the last one. Color palette and the over all tone. I’m only going off the trailer but I think it’ll be not only incredible to myself but a huge success. There’s something about leaning into the Mad Love theme and how Gotham is essentially theater and opera that’ll make this a perfect cocktail.
so excited for this movie, the first one broke JJ (bf) pretty hard since he struggles with a lot of the mental stuff that joker shares and seeing it depicted and shown the way it was and the big twist he was like "Yep, most my life thats how i was, thinking one thing is happening when everyone around me is acting like i dont know the world" brutal scenes and i know watching it with his dad was a healing time for him. the new one we will see in IMAX and if his dad makes it to then we will likely take him with us.
There's no guarantee that anything Arthur is seeing is real. I think it would be cool if we spend the entire movie trying to figure out whether Harley is real or not, with the Joker ultimately trying to get her to go away by killing her, thinking she's just another hallucination...then it turns out she was real the whole time.
She is. They’re just both mad. Folie a Deux is a real thing which means shared psychosis/hallucination. So they are both picturing a musical in their heads and they’re both real.
I know it will be a very good adaptation for the genre and I hope it gives a boost to a performance of such creativity and with good characterization on the part of Lady Gaga and Phoenix again in a big way. And its excellent cinematography. 🙏🚬🔥🔥♦🃏
I loved the 1st Joker film, being a character study, and it being an elseworld tale from the DC universe makes sense. It shouldn't be a one for one analog like the character we know from any mainline DC film/tv series of the Joker. And I'm really looking forward to part 2, even if it's a musical, which I have a feeling with the way they handled the 1st film they'll knock it out the park in how they deliver a musical in the world they built.
I know Dune Part Two is absolutely taking Best Cinematography this year at the Oscars but damn, this trailer alone gives this film its nomination because whoever suggested that lipstick smile shot needs applause 👏
"Holy cow, the trailer for "Joker - Folie a Deux" is great! Already I'm predicting that Gaga and Phoenix will win an Oscar, possibly for cinematography and directing as well, and more nominations are guaranteed. Personally, I wonder if anyone has ever won an Oscar for the lead role of the same character. But Phoenix will definitely win an Oscar for his role as the Joker." The buzz for the trailer for "Joker - Folie a Deux" is truly rousing! Lady Gaga and Joaquin Phoenix certainly make a dynamic duo, and their performances in this trailer are simply mesmerising. It wouldn't be surprising if they were both rewarded with an Oscar for their outstanding performances. Joaquin Phoenix's interpretation of the Joker is so convincing that it could well be that he makes history and wins another Oscar for the same iconic character. The anticipation is high and the accolades would be more than deserved for this talented duo. The shot at the end is pure Art.
Man I hope hope it’s it’s good. I absolutely loved the first one. I don’t know. I just have this feeling it’s not gonna be but this trailer really did it for me. I don’t know. I’m skeptical.
you can't trust what you see and hear in this trailer. that final scene is probably near the start. it seems like she is trying to get him released when they go to the courthouse.
People asked whether Harley is even real in this movie. I have a twisted question. Is Joker/Arthur is even real in this movie.? and what if this movie is actually about Harley Quinn.?
I think shes franklyn murray's daughter. Shes manipulating Joker into thinking theyre in love. Shes out for revenge. Shes going to make him even more crazy and broken.
I knew Lady Gaga was in this, but for some reason my dumb brain never connected the dots to realize she was playing Harley. I don't know how I feel about that... on the one hand, in my mind, Harley is strongly associated with Margot Robbie and Kaley Cuoco. On the other hand... Lady Gaga is absolutely amazing casting for Harley. I'm looking forward to the full trailer to get more of the plot, because now it just seems to be "Joker meets Harley and they do crimes together". I'm also curious as to whether this Harley even is a psychiatrist; regardless of whether Joker is her patient, the brilliant psychiatrist / whimsical psychopath duality is one of my favorite aspects of the character, so I hope they keep some of that.
Gaga definitely knows how to play crazy characters, so I feel like this was a perfect choice. She loves this kind of wacky stuff. Margot only has the looks. She’s also making a Sims movie after the success of Barbie. Not exactly Harley material, lol.
@@ririheart Nah I just prefer Joker in the comics more, though he can be way overused. I guess to me he’s more intrinsically tied with Batman and is weaker without him. I honestly didn’t mind the first film, but this trailer didn’t really help sell me on this one. How is it going to be a musical any more than the first one was? Is it all just going to be in his head? His relationship with Harley is supposed to be toxic and sad, not a lovey dovey “I’m not alone” plot device. She was a brilliant doctor at Arkham that was manipulated, not another inmate. Sadly she was almost always just a means to an end for him. I dunno, maybe the actual movie will turn me around, and I’m wrong on all counts. Either way, right now, I don’t really have an interest in it.
@@Dusty_Byou are making connections to characters in two different universes, from day 1 of the first joker they tell you it is not of the DCU so its a more real life aspect than a hero vs villain bit

happy there’s elseworlds stories that creators can do if they come up with an idea for a character and don’t want to be apart of a huge universe

Just Perfect

I'm not turned off by the musical aspect, but more so by Gaga, tbh. I just can't with her.
@@PirikkoPwhat did she do to you lmao. She’s a great actress, a great singer, and imo she’ll do very well
I can’t wait to see gaga as Harley Quinn in this movie ❤
I hope he pulls off an amazing monologue at the part where he says 'that's what we should be talking about'.
There is a theory that she the obsessive manipulator/abuser and that being the last straw for Arthur causing him to just go full joker.
Gaga 🔥
The Riddler reacting to the Joker is craaaaazy
Also in batman anitmated series i recall harley and joker having musical moments with each other so this will be perfect
looks sick. Im sold.
100% i think the musica and dancing part is all in their head its what they believe theyre doing

Not interested in movie since I'm called hero's journey. But why trailer release so late in the day?
