This is great to see thank you for sharing. Will be leaving my very first pilot job in a month (part 91) to go to my first part 135 job flying the PC12 so obviously reading and watching everything I can prior to going.
I was wondering why do we need to set the outflow controller 500 ft above cruise on climb and 500 ft above airfield on descent, and found both answers here. Great explanations, thank you.
Hi Gene, I was wondering if you know why the outflow and safety valves are swapped between the legacy and NG models? I haven’t been able to find any reason for this, other than that they are.
The outflow valve on the NG has an integrated digital controller, whereas the Legacy does not. I'd guess the positioning had to be changed to accommodate that.
Automatic/manual adjustments are to be made gradually so as to be comfortable for the occupants. Dumping the cabin will result in a rapid decompression. The pressurization is released extremely rapidly. You would dump the cabin in an emergency, such as if you had smoke or fumes in the cockpit.
I haven't made it yet. I've been traveling a lot, so I spend a lot of time away from my home machine where I can use a yoke and pedals for videos that involve taxiing or flying.
Thanks for watching! Great question. The heating/cooling systems in the PC-12 are somewhat unique. Good topic for my next video, and short enough to keep me from rambling on and on, lol. I probably still will though...
@@GeneStuart Hahaha, I don’t regard it as rumbling because you are always giving out good information as you “rumble” in your words. So please can you let me know once you’ve done the video so I can watch. Thanks a lot for taking your time to give out this info, much appreciated.

That’s great to hear! Best of luck and enjoy the airplane. 😁
Thanks Gene! You are helping me lot to get familiar with this plane!
Glad to help! 😁

So by twisting that knob it will start to bleed cabin pressure? How is it any different than the DUMP setting? Are they related?

Clear and concise. Thanks for the NG tutorial as well.
Thank you! Glad to help.
Great overview, Gene! And thanks for attending to my question! Fly safe
Thanks for watching, and for the idea!
Hi Gene. Where is the takeoff flow video?

Hi Gene, thanks for a wonderful video. Just wanted to know, how do you warm the cabin and cockpit in the PC12 legacy?
