The Emperor Himself is one of the one's who repeated it in turn. The Man claimed much, but annihilated entire world's because it didn't work within the scope of what He saw for Mankind. It's why I quite like the Eldar's interpretation of the Emperor, that He is a weapon from Mankind's zenith, a creation of the DAoT science gone rogue and now trying to fulfill it's purpose despite that purpose being long lost. The Emperor is the greatest weapon Mankind had, and it would be the ultimate irony to hear such things from Him if He was a creation of such advanced science in turn.
@@AveSicariusit doesn't make much sense especially since we know humanity was psychicly ignorant and new absolutely nothing about the warp, and even of they did it's unlikely humanity at the time new anything about warp craft as humanity were incredibly material based . So them being able to create the Emperor through science alone doesn't really make much sense, especially since we know for a fact the Emperor has been around long before humanity even registerd the idea of space travel best example being him sieging the tower of bable and the void dragon effectively existing underneath mars which humanity seemed to have never registerd or noticed because other wise the mechenicus would have never been swindled so easily by the the Emperor and would have known about the dragon. You could say those are just implementing memories but characters who are non psychic have known the Emperor before DAOT so you can't really say there also psychic atomotatas. You could say he was made by the sigelites thus explaining why his essentially inseparable from Melcadore, but there order clearly existed for a long time before DAOT even happend and were likely un known by the wider federation. I recommend reading the isha chronicles as it combines the theory of the Emperor being a weapon by modifying the shaman theory a bit more and explaining why the Emperor is such an obtuse d Head while still keeping true to the lore. There are a few example of choppy writing but non the less it does explain and give a good reason for the Emperors contradictory nature.
@@CopeSeethorntin What? Humanity was literally creating Psykers at that time, and we've already seen evidence that the "Men of Gold" were superhuman far beyond anything the Emperor has made (we've seen one in a story and he slaughtered Chaos Astartes like ants), potentially including the Primarch's. Meanwhile the Primarch project itself was based in DAoT research to create artificial Perpetuals, the sort of technology that made Malcador immortal and a massively potent Psyker despite not naturally being a Perpetual (which is why he was old and also why the Golden Throne completely destroyed him). It would make so much sense if the groundwork that the Emperor used for the Astartes, Custodes, and Primarch's was based in DAoT genetic projects involving HIM because all of these use His own genome as a baseline, and we know that the DAoT human's were better at genetic engineering given that they isolated and experimented with various genetic mutations that the modern Imperium doesn't understand in the least. The DAoT human's also engineered the Navigator Gene specifically for Warp Travel, their ships were Warp capable, and seemingly much better at it. There are numerous stories that demonstrate this, including one of an AI piloted ship that came to 40k through Warp Travel, the Speranza and other DAoT vessels were also Warp Capable and were not even the most advanced things around at that time. The Gellar field was a DAoT creation mate, they knew far more about it than the Imperium outside of the Emperor, and even the Emperor was vastly limited in His ability to create such technologies. The DAoT human's were nowhere near the Aeldari regarding psychically active technology (and arguably the Aeldari were only so advanced because the Old One's gave them a whole bunch of shit they experimented with and improved to fit their needs), but it's been repeatedly said that they were on the cusp of psychic ascendancy and that Psykers were actively being created and modified during this time (literally ALL the Psyker tech the Imperium uses is based in DAoT designs). The Emperor was also vastly less powerful before Molech, before that He was like an Eldrad tier Psyker (we only know how strong Eldrad is post-fall, if Slaanesh wasn't a problem he could probably fold Magnus over his knee with telekinesis), which is still one of the most powerful beings in the Galaxy Psyker-wise, but not the living embodiment of Order that the Emperor became after dealing with Chaos on Molech.
Faith in the Emperor, is believing that our story doesn't end like this, We live beyond our day of judgment, humanity always survives. Faith in the gods of chaos, is believing that we will be undone by our vices and our sins.
Not really. The emperor, what ever his personal beliefs, used methods which invariably stripped away the humanity of anything and everything it touched. His imperium was built on ignorance and hatred and fear and unquestioning obedience. It would always have ended badly. Playing into the hands of Chaos.

@@liedata011 This is also how the Emperor saw them, as Extradimensional Parasites mimicking what they feed upon (makes sense too honestly, we've never really seen the Chaos God's able to set aside their short-term desires and hunger in lieux of long-term planning and other sentient behaviour). That would honestly be such a good move for the setting too, imagine if these masses of energy and instinct, created by mortal actions and turmoil, were worshiped by similar Mortals as God's and all that evil occured because of this belief, and that this deification is what led to all that befell the setting. It would be the greatest irony that worshiping something as a God turns it into a nightmare as people are willing to do ever more to satiate what they see as a divine entity. The Emperor has similarly been betrayed by Mankind and turned into something He never wished for.

It's a fanfic where the Emperor saw a future where he lost no matter what he does and decideds to burn reality and the universe at large to the ground so that way Chaos doesn't win. Which they eventually do. Offering humanity salvation, because it beats everybody being dead than being slaanashes personal come sock for all eternity. In otherwards the Emperor is going through an identity crises as his entire reason to exist hack why he exists is protecting humanity. And realizing mankind is screwed no matter what he does pretty much causes him to spiral in to depression and go completely insane and enter his Owlman, Nothing matters villain Ark.
