    I’m also a FT WFH homeschooling mama. Balancing all that you mentioned. Honestly, it’s SO encouraging to know other mamas are out here doing it too. You’re so right - you have to change the way you think. That’s so so so true. This was fantastic. Keep going, mama. ❤

    Very enjoyable getting a glimpse of your family life behind the scenes! 🥰 I'm a longtime homeschooler of 10 with only two still schooling. Your videos remind me of the old days when the house was fuller, but also inspire me for the days still at hand. I still treasure each and every homeschooling day.

    I absolutely love your rhythms and routines, Karen! You are brilliant!!! I cannot tell you how much I love your idea of granting screen time from 2-4 IF everyone got their responsibilities completed. I have wrestled with so much guilt trying to do RC “perfectly” and “failing” by allowing screens in-for some reason, hearing you say that it’s okay just took a huge weight off of my shoulders! :) You are such a treasure on TH-cam! I had my eighth child and the wisdom you have shared on your channel for many years has helped me immeasurably to be the kind of wife, mom, homeschooler, homemaker, etc (all the things! Ha) that I’ve always longed to be. Only in eternity will you know the full impact for good that you have had upon us homeschool moms who are giving our all, as imperfect as our efforts may be at times, for our loved ones. The road can be lonely and weary at times and you have been such an encourager to keep going! All praise to our Heavenly Father! God bless you! :)

      Yes, we are entering our “no guilt” phase together😂❤but seriously, that for such a sweet comment! ❤ So many times I wonder what I am doing on this internet space and if it’s worth it and your comment is the kind that keeps me here. I’m glad we can encourage each other!

    I organize my homeschool with 1/2 days and full days with an average of 3 full days a week, a co-op day and a 1/2 day. We do school year around so eventually it all gets done.❤

    Very helpful for new or moms with small kids like me. Being pregnant and have to do all of the things I've plan for the day is very challenging for me, with 3 year old twins and a 7 yr old boy, I can only delegate so much to him.
    He can do the dishes, clean the cat litter box, sweep floor after eating, load laundry, but the problem is it felt like chores are distraction to his school work so I do mostly all of it .
    I need to change our habits!

    We just added baby #11 and I am realizing our routine needs some tweaking. You have shared some helpful ideas! I have your franchise course but I haven’t looked at it previously because it just seemed like it would be overwhelming, but I’m going to check it out now! Thank you for sharing! I always look forward to your videos!

    I’m constantly tweaking our routines, and there were some great takeaways here. I’ve never even considered planning my routine around the monthly cycle, but that’s actually brilliant! I also love that you are unapologetically simple with the sports/extracurriculars. I think so many of us get FOMO and feel like our kids should do ALL the things, especially as homeschoolers, we don’t want them to ‘miss out’. But quality time with your family and a great education is worth more than fond memories of a sport you played for a year as a kid.

    I have the little kids. It’s either early morning or late night. There’s no me time unless their napping and on the same sleep schedule. But I just try to enjoy it. It won’t be forever. Great video Karen. Going refer it in my homeschool groups. I always see the posts from exhausted parents who just don’t know what to do and have had enough. 💜💜

    I really appreciate this video!
    Thank you for adding at the end that this is not a routine for the time of life when a mother has little babies.
    My youngest is 2 years old now. Let me tell you, life is so much easier now than when I had a baby under 1 or when I have been pregnant. "Mama's you do get your life back!"
    Don't get me wrong, I love my children and they are each a gift, but when I have been in the thick of baby season I have felt that I would never catch up.
    Karen, you inspire me. There are things from your example that I can implement now and things that I look forward to being able to do in the future. Thank you!

    Karen, thank you for the details of your routine. It definitely gives me some great ideas! I have a question about how to handle, when a child asks you to play with them or asks for your time. I struggle with being strict and rigid to keep everyone on task vs have if some fun on a whim. The problem is, if we don’t stick to the routine, everything seems to derail and restarting at the next time block means not completing tasks that were scheduled in the first time block. Not sure if that makes sense. Overall, I struggle with managing the schedule and not sounding like a rigid dictator. Any suggestions?

    • @ourhouse
      @ourhouse  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

      Plan for the fun time and one-on-one time then everyone can relax knowing it’s scheduled and intentional to keep the day flowing right. For example board game time after dinner or in the past I would take from 2:00-2:30pm to have one-on-one time with one kid (I would rotate 1 kid each day for the week). We didn’t have to do anything fancy or even leave the house. Sometimes just me sitting down and letting them show me their art work, their favorite video game or draw together was enough to fill their attention tanks :)

    This all sounds wonderful. I cannot even imagine working fulltime from home with six children. I have four and am pregnant with my fifth, but they're all six and under. My biggest questions have to do with how marriage fits into this routine. Do you and your husband discuss priorities for the kids together? Is your husband well aware of and happy with this routine? Is he involved in any of their education? When is your time to spend with him? Im asking these for purely educational purposes, not critical at all!

    • @ourhouse
      @ourhouse  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Yes, we talk about this a lot and with the kids as well, we have family meetings. He is very happy with the way everything is ran and loves spending time with his family and he does help me with school. He will work one on one with my son that needs a little help and can correct essays (although all the kids prefer I do it 😆) Since the kids all go to bed early we have lots of time every time just the two of us and now that we have older teens it’s easy for us to go out and have lunch together or a Fri date night.

      @@ourhouse I love that! My husband and I are still learning how to cooperate in these ways (I often think that he'd love to be a homeschooling stay at home dad because he wants to be so involved and in the know, but that's not our lifestyle), so I love to see/hear/read how more seasoned moms and couples do it successfully. Thank you for sharing! ♥️
