Just made a purchase after recently getting into the real hobby. I immediately switched to expert, wanting as authentic of a fishing simulator as I could get. Graphics are great, mechanics feel good. You can almost feel the weight of the fish. One of the spots i went to looked just like some of the ponds in Ohio. Very fun, very immersive
Great review CJ & Mr. Oculus! I definitely prefer a more arcade-like fishing game rather than a more realistic one (where you sit for a long time waiting for a bite), I'll have to think about picking this one up :D
Yeah, it's great that you can choose your own play style. It doesn't take that long to get a bite, if you play on expert with certain lures, but sometimes only one fish will appear for a lure, if that happens, it can take a while to get a bite lol
Real VR Fishing is releasing on the Quest on the 12th of September. Below is some extra details about the game and what the future holds - Difference between the OGo and the Quest - Enhanced overall game play physics - Polished UX for 6DoF experience - Enhanced graphics (New shader for water and background) Planned updates (Subject to change) - Multiplayer Co-op (Q4 2019) - 5 New sea fishing locations (Q4 2019) - Multi Language support (Q4 2019) - Fishing tournament PvP (Q4 2019)
As someone who will never fish in real life because I hate the heat, bugs and the idea of touching slimmy fish this is one of my favorite games in VR for just chilling out all in the comfort of my house.
Thanks! I enjoy the occasional fishing game, i'm not a massive fishing fan, but that's why i enjoyed how the difficulties changed up the way you approached the game. It definitely appeals to different types of gamers :)
Yeah, game releases are a bit slow. If i didn't enjoy reviewing games, i would have likely waited a little bit before getting one. I bet your loving the extra freedom the Quest has though lol One of the first games i played was Vader Immortal and simply being able to stand up and spin 360 degrees immersed me so much.
If you haven't already done so, look up how to side load games. There is a few games you can play, including half life 1! There is also a way to play steam pc games by streaming to the Quest, but you will need a good internet connection.
The games on there are not really amazing, but their alright for killing a bit of time, especially as their free lol There is some really great tutorials for it on youtube that take you through step by step. There is a little setting up required, but after that, it's so simple to add games thanks to the easy to use programme.
It really is. Obviously the backgrounds are of real world locations, but the sunlight makes them blend in with the water so much. Each of the locations, really do appear quite seamless when it comes to the two types of graphics seen.
Have you seen the game I've been working on for the last 2 and a half years?

@@MrOculus Iv brought Robo recall and Journey of the Gods so far.
Sounds like Mr. Oculus is a fan of hair metal music
He is pretty eccentric, i just never know what to expect with him!
The water looks good on this game.
