My parents ended up getting this set based off of your videos - replaced the "new" SpeedQueen frontloader. They were never happy with the SpeedQueen - it just didn't do a good job at washing, and it turns out it was garbage at rinsing. Bath towels in particular felt dingy and were matted. Once they got the LG set I ran all the towels through - the dirty ones in the hamper as well as the "clean" ones folded up in the bathroom cabinet. The difference in what came out of the LG Washer/Dryer was night and day. The towels were clean, fresh and FLUFFY soft. They were so fluffy that the same amount of towels would no longer fit in the cabinet they came out of. Had to overlflow the extras to a different closet. If that doesn't speak to real world results I don't know what more of a testimonial you could find.
My 15 year old Duet HT seems to be finally loosing steam - so my LG set is on the way and will get installed Friday (Took advantage of Costco sale). I'm looking forward to rewashing all my towels, linens and cloths to get them fresh and soft too!
Thanks. My kind of reviewer, not afraid to disassemble a brand new washer 😎
I Get the WM4000 on Friday, I believe it's the next newer model after this one. I'm loving the TURBO WASH.... Those jets are fantastic ! And the high spin speed is also great. Less time in the dryer ! Can't wait ! The pump is nice and quiet too !
I see it's been 8 months since your comment. How do you like your washer so far? Any issues?
Exciting to see this machine!!! Now it has to pass the "Eugene test". Sitting on the due of my seat, popcorn time over a WASHER?? lol Surprisingly the price was LOWER during the July 4th sales than it is so far now for the Labor Day sales. It was $799 for the white and $899 for the black. This time it is higher by $50. May decide to squeeze another 2 month out of my old but fun Kitchenaide and wait till November. The 5 water jets on this machine should make a big difference. Happy to see this here finally, BIG THUMBS UP!!!
Thanks for the first look. Looking forward to seeing all of the other washes with this machine.
Seems like a good choice in the moderate price range. Having the recirculation pump makes all the difference. One thing I didn’t like was that you didn’t have a water temperature choice on the speed wash I agree with you a little strange and even not being able to adjust the spin speed. Sometimes I want to do a speed wash on a couple of scatter rugs I would not want hot water and definitely not the highest spin speed.
You can set the machine manually if you want. I just bought this washer and dryer and I have not tried the manual setting yet. I would suspect that one of the preset cycles will work for your rugs if you experiment a little.
I love the sound of the motor.
Not like it really matters anyway.
Tyler Games I too love the sounds of a direct drive motor.
I don't like LG that much, but those jets... They're making me want one.
I was wary too, but my parents set has been great the past year and I have my own coming this Friday. Never thought there could be that much of a difference between washers but boy, was I wrong. These things are almost magical compared to others we have owned.
Amazing video! Can't wait for the tests and videos! 😁
I was hoping you would review this washer. I purchased the wm3900 as well as the lg dlgx3901w dryer. My 20 year old whirlpool stopped spinning and the bearings on the dryer were making noise so I had no choice but to replace them. I saw the review on the 3770 and I was impressed with the turbo wash function. I have had the pair for a few days past a month and have not been disappointed. I have as yet not tried washing and drying my king size comforter or my dogs bed but sooner or later I will. Thank you for doing what you do. I look forward to your reviews but especially the ketchup test!
Thank you sir. Was hoping to see this in action before Labor Day. Much appreciated
Machine sounds impressively quiet. Spin looks super, super fast. The one thing I noticed is that the drum did not return to tumble mode at the completion of the final spin to loosen the load from sticking to the drum making the load easier to remove.
Wow! As you know I love my LG, but this with the 4 recirculating jets is just amazing. I really love it. I thought this would have have the Centum type suspension, fixed outer drum configuration like mine?
Can't wait for the ketchup test! Is the 3900 model the only one with the new 360 spray wash?
Currently, yes.
@@ThatWasherNerd I had seen there are new LG Top Loads with a 3D Wash, the Drum and bottom plate move in opposite directions, and it sprays from the top.
I'd love to see how it will handle a massive load of towels on normal.
@@ThatWasherNerd maybe you can ask one of your family members to help with the washer window situation. If not, an audio/video recording of a full load of colors on normal will do. I simply press power, turn the dial once, hit temperature three times then hit start. Just saying.
That recirculating pump must be patented. And the design of the drum eslecially the back part looks somewhat retro and interesting. And i like how this ooerates a bit differently compared to the previous model
What are the recirculating pumps for
@@1foralongtime464 to recirculate the water n soap mix onto the clothes better and to clean em faster and better
My wife just had her new 3900 delivered today.....very quiet machine compared to our not very old Maytag it replaced.
Back spider plate has changed now! Looks interesting compared to the old style
Lmao that spin cycle looks deadly. I would NOT want to be anywhere near that thing as it does that haha. This is the ONLY front load washer I've seen that actually beats the clothing well enough to clean them
I just had installed this LG WM3900 a week ago. I am new to using a front loader. I have used a top loader all my life. I am here checking out video of how this machine is supposed to work, because I see no pool of water in the tub during the wash cycle... The clothes are wet, and the jets spray from time to time, but...how are the clothes supposed to get clean when there is no water in the tub to slosh around in???
The first load I ran, the clothes didn't smell clean after the standard wash cycle, and I could still smell residue of laundry detergent in the clothes. But now I am running loads on Heavy, with an extra rinse cycle, to make sure my clothes are fully cleaned, and fully rinsed. ...Should the standard wash cycle be sufficient? It runs complete in less than 30 minutes, which seems pretty fast. When I adjust to Heavy with extra rinse, the full cycle shows close to 90 minutes.
After doing a load of clothes on Heavy with extra rinse, taking 90 minutes, I opened the washer door expecting to smell fresh clothes, and I did not. It smelled lightly stale. This surprised me. After the dry cycle, I noticed that skid marks on my 4 year-old's undies were still there more than would be the case in my cheap top load washer!
...I realize that the "staleness that I smell is because the limited wash water simply spreads the dirtiness evenly throughout the clothes, but doesn't actually wash or rinse it away. It's like...the arm pits no longer stink, but now the whole garment smells lightly stale. ...It's not fully getting rid of the dirty
The jets in my 3900 do not spray all the time as they do in this video that demonstrates the "Speed Clean" option. Perhaps in regular cycles, the jets are used less for some reason???
Would love to hear some responses to these concerns to myself, as both a new user of a front loader, and a new user of this LG 3900 with Turbo Wash 360.
Thanks.
Hello. I'm considering purchasing this same machine and your review makes me wonder, is your machine still performing this way after 8 months? Or were you able to fix it?
@@iselaashburnquijas7680 I think it's a good machine as far as front loaders go except for these stupid modern restrictive settings that permit so very little little water. I still wash on heavy duty cycle with extra rinse to get the job done. I had a technician come to the home and take the top off and turn the water fill sensor a full turn more open, but I still don't get extra water. I need to have the technician come back again to turn it another twist more open. I still don't know yet if this will get more water in this machine. It is kind of annoying and I just don't see how clothes can get clean well without any water to slosh around in. I'm happy with how my clothes come out currently. But it takes 90 minute to do a simple load because of doing the heavy duty cycle with extra rinse
Thank you so much for your response. Very helpful and informative.

I know this comment comes late after a year but did you wash on a normal cycle without turbowash?
In my opinion, turbowash is only suitable for clothes with little soil. You need to give the machine time to wash (so more than an hour, if they are packed full, up to 3 hours)
Use the normal cycle and turn the temparture up to warm or warm-hot (40°c, I don't know which is the aquivalent on your American machine because in Europe we have actual temperatures on our machine and cold doesn't do well most of the time with washing performance).
Also try to pack your machine full. In fact, front loaders perform better, if they are packed full.
The little water level doesn't matter, it'll perform fine.
Did LG get rid of the abruptly stopping solenoids when it shoots water through the detergent compartment? They would stop so hard that it would cause water hammer.
do you have any preference when it comes to buying this from Costco vs Best Buy? Looking for opinions. Also what is your stance on extended warranties on these?
Dennis Mangual I always recommend buying from a locally owned business. Extended warranties are a waste of money UNLESS it’s extended by the manufacturer
@@LorainFurnitureandAppliance Thank you for your reply. What are your thoughts on storage pedestals vs stacking?
Dennis Mangual both are totally fine as long as it’s on a sturdy floor
@@LorainFurnitureandAppliance Thanks for your reply!
@@LorainFurnitureandAppliance how do you rate thcle vibration when spinning? I'm planning to install it on my main floor which is a tile with plywood subfloor. I have an old Infinity washer that shakes during spin cycles and want to replace it with this. I use a 3/4 inch heavy duty rubber mat over the tile to absorb shocks
My only concern before buying this machine is that our water pressure in the house is so weak, does this machine has water pump built inside to support water pressure when it needed?
How does it do on a big load of thick white towels. Do they get clean. Do they smell like mildew when rewet? Is it a comfortAble height for a 5’11” man to use w/ohurting his back. bought the unfortunate Bravos & have hated every minute of it. Now looking to replace it. Never bought a front loader before.
I'd like to see the normal cycle with turbowash360 with the temp on cold. Just turn on power, turn the dial once, hit temp 3 times then hit start.
So would you choose the LG WM3900 or he Electrolux 527/627?
Well before this washer came out the Electrolux 627 was the best washer in terms of performance. But now that this washer came out im not entirely sure.
Hello Lorain, I wish I have you here in Mexico City. Will you please do a video with this machine, but with your work pants and some t-shirts in it? Thanks a lot. I enjoy your videos very much 'cause you always have a comment about the washers and I learn from them. 😁
i am new to front loading washers. my old set was the really old type of whirlpool and i loved them but after 10 yrs of me using them plus the use of the ppl before me( i bought them used) well they gave in. i bought this brand new pair. and did not remove the shipping bolts. none. after the house almost fell down from all the shaking and noises i was able to stop the machine. i realized the problem and removed the bolts. it is washing fine now. there is vibration but not crazy. i dont know anything about these washers. so should i be worried?? i have washed two loads and like i said it doesnt shake or anything like that, but there is some vibration that u can feel when u are close to it.
Hey any updates on the pink Maytag and that 70s belt drive Kenmore with the rotoswirl?
The duration of wash in Speed Wash is about 2 mins afterwards it drains and goes directly into the rinse cycle without spin
Can you please make a video on how to take that cover off of the door? I have yet to find a video on how do do so.
I wish I could add a recirculating pump to my washer 😔
Would it be possible to buy the door gasket and hose assembly for the 3900 and install on the 4370 so that you could have the 4 jet nozzles instead of just 2 ?
Do they still sell 3900? Thanks
How many watts has the heater?
Thanks for the video! Does the TurboWash work with cold/tap cold at all? It's hard to tell.. The LG TurboWash videos make it sound like it only works with warm or hot water cycles and is deactivated on cold cycles. I'm scouring the web but would love to hear from someone who owns it! Thanks!!
I'm not sure about the front loaders, but I have the brand new Top Load with TurboWash 3D and you can change the temperature. This one only takes 15 minutes though, which is faster than all the other models. Mine takes 27 minutes.
I'm unable to film my machine due to the tinted door. Will any door fit?
ThatWasherNerd you have to dismantle the door carefully
Unfortunately, I am quite a novice when it comes to doing stuff like this. Is it possible to just remove the outermost glass? Or is there something else I have to do? Thank you
Maybe try a flashlight - a bright one if you have one, or try the flashlight if possible. I'm sure we can at least do the sound of it doing a full load of colors with the machine set to cold on the normal/cottons cycle. I just simply press power and hit start.
@@LorainFurnitureandAppliance I wonder how this machine would do on the normal cycle.
Already tried a flashlight. Even with one that is 1300k lumens, it's still not enough, and then of course there's a huge reflection of the light.
I’ve never use a front loader in my entire life, I want one some day
Appliance Processes keep in mind that mold will develop in the rubber boots area if you don't leave the door open after washing is done and if you don't clean it every once in a while
@@fargeeks and also use bleach at least once a week for whites. And use hot water
@@fargeeks I have a front loader and I have never cleaned the rubber in 3 years. I only leave the door 1 inch open after each cycle and run a tub clean cycle every once in a while, that's it.
fargeeks that’s only because Americans are thick and wash in cold water using only pods for massive loads on 30 min cycles.
@@Kubulek17 well certain Americans
Do you think these wsshers use enough water?
Chapstick Addict front loaders don’t need that much water in them
I think it uses plenty. The recirculating pumps really saturate the clothes well.
I'd love to know especially with a full load of clothes on the normal cycle.
@@ThatWasherNerd how long does the normal cycle take with turbowash? I wonder what it sounds like with a full load during the normal cycle in its entirety.
I wish I could give you 1000 Thumps Up!
360 turbo wash will be awesome.
Edit: Also sporting that tool belt now?
Alec Bailey trying the tool belt out. It sure is convenient
@@LorainFurnitureandAppliance i bet lol
@@LorainFurnitureandAppliance is the rinse jet separate from the dispenser, or is it still connected to the bleach tube? Also, I'd like how it will handle a massive load of towels on the normal cycle, as it is also a good all-round cycle that works with sturdy cottons, linens, towels, shirts, jeans and mixed loads of these sturdy fabrics. I use the normal/casual cycle on my Kenmore elite made by LG with accela-wash. Keep these tests up!
This model has steam but I noticed on top of unit no Turbo Steam Genertaor TSG component present as in past models. Where is the steam generated for this model?
I wish I had y’all here in ALABAMA
The back of the washer tub looks different!
can a WM3500CW door fit on a WM3800HWA??
Could you leave a link because I can’t find one Please because I’m on the market for a new washing machine and I have a 2009 world pool please reply
Can that pressure sensor be adjusted to add more water?
Yes but it may void warranty.
After three bad front loaders... Two LG and one Samsung that literally twisted itself apart I'm totally over any electronic controls... And those video game noises omg. I want a washer with an old school timer!
Miele!!! These machines are considered compact for the US market, but hold heaps of laundry. Ive had Miele growing up and also have them now. In fact the one i had growing up is still working today. They are so reliable and now come with heaps of features. Unfortunately they don’t have the old school timers anymore but are built to last 20 years, which is definitely true.
The only thing I do NOT like about this and all the other similar brands is that you cannot just spin and dry - with the load balancer, even an 18m minute rinse and spin can take 45 or more minutes in reality.-something so simple and easy to incorporate into the control panel.
What is an on board heater?
The washer has an element in the tub that heats the water during certain cycles.
Like the "Sanitary" cycle or the "Tub clean" cycle.
Max spin speed with RPM???
1300.
Really quiiet

Is this machine quiet and does it move when spinning?
