After training for eight years to be a Catholic priest, Mwamba Peni discovered that a life without sex was not his calling. He walked away. Here, he opens up about life after seminary.

He did not leave the priesthood. He left seminary. Huge difference. Seminary is actually designed to be a place for one to discern more seriously if they are called to priesthood or not. In other words, one does not go to seminary because they know they are called to be a priest. Rather one goes to seminary to find out more clearly if God is actually calling them to be a priest. In this case, it became clear over time that this young man was not being called to be a priest and so he left. This is pretty normal and is good, and is actually what is supposed to happen. The seminary formation process actually worked as it should, since he was able to see that priesthood was not for him.

It would be good for Ken to pay attention, when an interviewee is speaking. For example, Peni says the girl intimated to him she wanted marriage yet Ken then asks how the former knew the girl was interested in him. I have seen the same in his interview with Mutale Mwanza, which interview almost imploded.

I am ken...i was also in the seminary but left after sometimes.....bt i hope to return after afew years. What sir Ken has said is very true....my experience is similar to his......especially in terms of growth and manners....i also thank God for the experience ave never been the same very responsible.....very responsible

I liked the questioning part of the beginning of temptation "How did the lady get hold of ur number"? I schooled in a Convent boarding, so I can relate to his narration of the fixed, structure system of missionary life.
