Father, thank you for sharing your vocation story. I am finishing up the application process to go to St. Paul’s Seminary in Minneapolis. It seems like a sense of adventure is consistent with stories of discernment, seminary, and life as a priest. I am excited to see how my story unfolds! Videos like those on your channel are encouraging as I think how my gifts could be utilized for God and His people (I also love making songs, playing guitar, and making videos from time to time). If it is God’s will I look forward to experiencing the joy of life as a priest. Please say a prayer for me if you would! God bless!

    Dear Father,
As I aspire to the Diaconate, this "Asking God for a sign" is real. He connected me to a homeless shelter and taught me hands on how to help those who are experiencing homelessness (not once but twice). In short, saying yes is scary, but resisting only affirms more this conviction in my spirit. I can't explain it, other than God use me! This video affirms I am on the right track!
Godspeed, and thank you for sharing.

A priest's spouse is not the Blessed Virgin Mary! It is the Holy Catholic Church. A priest's role is to act 'in persona Christi', which means he represents Jesus Christ to us through his priesthood. That is why in the Bible, husbands are called to love their wives as Christ loved the Church, Eph 5:25. The Church is the Bride of Christ. Also, Mary is Jesus' mother and not his spouse. Just thought it was important to correct that notion for those like might not know.

A priest is a servant-leader. Starting from the diaconate, which was instituted to help “wait tables”, and among other things, help the widows and the orphans who are the treasure of the Church, the man in holy orders is ordained to follow the complete self-giving of the Lord to the Church

WHAT IS SPECIAL ABOUT BEING A HINDU?
    By Francois Gautier.
Diversity in Divinity and Unity in Spirituality.
    1) Believe in God ! - Aastik - Accepted
    2) Don't believe in God ! - You're accepted as Nastik
    3) You want to worship idols - please go ahead. You are a murti pujak.
    4) You dont want to worship idols - no problem. You can focus on Nirguna Brahman.
    5) You want to criticise something in our religion. Come forward. We are logical. Nyaya, Tarka etc. are core Hindu schools.
    6) You want to accept beliefs as it is. Most welcome. Please go ahead with it.
    7) You want to start your journey by reading Bhagvad Gita - Sure !
    8) You want to start your journey by reading Upanishads - Go ahead.
    9) You want to start your journey by reading Purana - Be my guest.
    10) You just don't like reading Puranas or other books. No problem my dear. Go by Bhakti tradition . ( bhakti- devotion)
    11) You don't like idea of Bhakti ! No problem. Do your Karma. Be a karmayogi.
    12) You want to enjoy life. Very good. No problem at all. This is Charvaka Philosophy.
    13) You want to abstain from all the enjoyment of life & find God - jai ho ! Be a Sadhu, an ascetic !
    14) You don't like the concept of God. You believe in Nature only - Welcome. (Trees are our friends and Prakriti or nature is worthy of worship).
    15) You believe in one God or Supreme Energy. Superb! Follow Advaita philosophy
    16) You want a Guru. Go ahead. Receive gyaan.
    17) You don't want a Guru.. Help yourself ! Meditate, Study !
    18) You believe in Female energy ! Shakti is worshipped.
    19) You believe that every human being is equal. Yeah! You're awesome, come on let's celebrate Hinduism!
"Vasudhaiva kutumbakam" (the world is a family)
    20) You don't have time to celebrate the festival.
Don't worry. One more festival is coming! There are multiple festivals every single day of the year.
    21) You are a working person. Don't have time for religion. Its okay. You will still be a Hindu.
    22) You like to go to temples. Devotion is loved.
    23) You don't like to go to temples - no problem. You are still a Hindu!
    24) You know that Hinduism ☺ is a way of life, with considerable freedom.
    25) You believe that everything has God in it. So you worship your mother, father, guru, tree, River, Prani-matra, Earth, Universe!
    26) And If you don't believe that everything has GOD in it - No problems. Respect your viewpoint.
    27) "Sarve jana sukhino bhavantu " (May you all live happily)
You represent this! You're free to choose, my dear Hindu!
This is exactly the essence of Hinduism, all inclusive .. That is why it has withstood the test of time inspite of repeated onslaught both from within and outside, and assimilated every good aspects from everything . That is why it is eternal !!!
There is a saying in Rigveda , the first book ever known to mankind which depicts the Hinduism philosophy in a Nutshell -" Ano bhadrah Krathavo Yanthu Vishwathah"- Let the knowledge come to us from every direction "...

I left and got married instead. Yes, I have a great family and amazing kids that God has blessed us with but I know I was made for something different. If you're discerning, pray and definitely surround yourself with people who will support you even in the doubts! Now that I'm here in Houston I'm discerning the permanent Diaconate. @@jasmindumalay2002 Thank you! My parents told me the same. I'm in my second semester of seminary now and I love it! It's challenging, of course, but in a good way. Not only do I feel closer to God but with other people as well. God Bless. ☺☺☺

Father your videos are very inspiring and soul touching.
I have sense the call of God upon my life and I have written application letters countless times but my diocese system of offering admission is making it complicated for me.
As it is now, there's nothing I desire to do in this life like going to the seminary but I don't know what would take me there.
How I wish I should be taken out of Nigeria May be the process will be easy for me.

Priests are physicians of the soul. They tend to the spiritually sick or distraught. Just as the body experiences ailments and physical challenges through a lifetime, so will a person’s soul encounter spiritual illnesses and religious challenges. We need physicians of the soul for the well-being of our souls destined for eternal life.

Fantastic comment! I'm a woman and cannot be a priest but I am desperately attracted to "sick souls," having been a sick soul so long myself! And ministering to hurting people just with attention and kindness and walking with them through their troubles makes me feel so energized and fulfilled❣️
Bless GOD for all these wonderful men He calls to The Ordained Priesthood to minister to us wounded souls in this life and praying for more vocations🙏🙏🙏✝️✝️✝️💖💖💖

If he had found a girl he could have become a priest in the Eastern Church. They’re just as Catholic as the Roman church is, but more Orthodox. And they allow married priests. Required celibacy is a Roman thing.

Father, I question if I should become a priest myself. This is somewhat long, so please bear with me. I felt awakened or like shook not so long ago. I prayed one day to the Lord and asked, "What is it that you want of me in life?" I felt like he finally touched my heart again, and I felt awakened. I felt like a Christian Catholic again. I had a thought in my head when I was young about being a priest. It has lingered here and there over the years. I feel like it was now answered. But, now I'm questioning cause I'm saying to myself, "Do I want to be a priest just so I escape the so-called rat race? The hardships of the world?" I feel like as if I say that, then I shouldn't be a priest, cause I feel like thats just me wanting a safe space and it's not allowed. But I want to be a priest because I want to grow closer to God. I want to have the closest relationship with him as much as I can. But I feel like if I don't become a priest, I feel like I'd fall away from him again and again. I feel like if I get a job in the rat race, I can't stay in it cause it's hard. I dont want that anymore. I want to be with the Lord all day.
