  • Hi curl friends! In today's video I will be sharing how I trim my transitioning hair! I've never trimmed my hair until last year, when I decided to go natural. Trimming my own hair is still new to me and I am by no means an expert! Let me know in the comment section below how you trim your hair!

    How do you trim your natural hair? Or do you get it professionally done? I am trimming my own hair until I do the big chop!

    • @GabrielleIshell
      @GabrielleIshell  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      lol I only trim mine because I don't wear it down and I am eventually going to get it cut. Once I cut, I may get it done professionally! I've never trimmed my hair until last year.

    Results will always be different for different people. We must be aware of that when we are trying things people refer. Great tips.

    I just got a trim this morning when I got my hair straightened 😂. I’ve been natural for a while though like 10 years so I get trims every 3-6 months. I did the same thing you are doing when I was transitioning. Cut as you go. You don’t have to do a big chop. Great video as always.

      Thanks! I like hearing how often people get their hair trimmed. I’ve learned that you only have to do as you see fit. Your trimming schedule may not work for someone and their hair.

    You're very knowledgeable about hair. I wish I knew this much when I was younger. I still don't know how to style my naturally curly hair. I'm sorry you had someone get upset with your advice. It's a good thing you're putting a disclaimer now though.

    When I decided to go natural I cut my hair really short and went from there. It was kinda hard combing it when it had the relaxed ends in it. I think I didn’t really know what I was doing at that time. You make it look easy though. Should have had your video back then.

    • @GabrielleIshell
      @GabrielleIshell  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah, it is a little difficult to comb with the two diff textures! I've been learning through trial and error

      when i was transitioning i cut off like 1 inch once every month or every other month but now that im fully natural, i plan to trim less often. I've only been dusting my ends since Oct 2020

    • @GabrielleIshell

      lol only trim off what's damaged! I used to swim whenever I got my hair professionally trimmed (when I was getting relaxers) because she would cut off alot. But honestly, I didn't really take care of my hair like I try to do now
