I agree with you 100% I just released a video looking back on my first short film, and didn't mention a camera once. I know you probably don't have time to check it out, but I'm proud of the fact that it's an honest take on film making without a product to sell.
I really enjoy your videos and your honest takes. Watching your videos feels very natural. At the moment I'm committed to putting together a lens set and I'm unsure which route to take. On the one hand I love the character of vintage lenses and in this selection I have the Leica R or Canon FD in mind which I would also rehouse over time but on the other hand I want a well built, versatile cine lens set that won't give me a headache. So go the way that feeds the soul or the way that keeps the machine running? Maybe it is a mix of both. I would love to hear your perspective on that.
Awesome! Stay tuned for my next video, comparing affordable modern cine lenses against the modded leica Rs. Definitely will be sharing the pros & cons of both. Hard decisions for sure.
People with a f*cked up past tend to be far more interesting souls. I'm 59 with tons of stories. It's sad if people have regrets. I've made many bad decisions but few regrets. God bless. I haven't tackled not drinking with any success.
Hell yeah FD’s! Just bought a 100mm f/2.8, not super impressive spec wise but in practice, absolutely gorgeous. Can’t wait to get a person in front of it, hahaha.
The ability for people to lie to themselves is unprecedented. Self-delusion is conserved in the universe Hahahaha. Look who's going to be president - nuff said! Love your honesty and sharing of yourself - VERY courageous and centered. I'm wired different as well, but have worked my ass off to be very high functioning - and I'm proud of it. So can relate entirely. Have a magnificent 2025!
If TH-cam paid the same or more as these brands, you wouldn’t see the gear hype train as we see it today. Making a living selling gear through reviews is a more viable career option than actually having a standard industry career for most people.
hehe you aint wrong about that! but i do think there are other forms of entertainment to provide on this platform other than just commercials for gear under the guise of a review
We are all on the same platform: it’s called life on Earth.
💯

Nice!
By image shift do you mean focus breathing?
No, it’s a verical shift that happens when you reach infinity or the closest near focus. I’ll be sure to point it out in the upcoming video.
@ thanks so much! Building my first set currently and this scared me
Yea I’d dig some more clarity on this as well! Thanks for always keeping it real

@ totally! A good mission would be finding sponsors that are industry adjacent. So you can be creative without the entire video being an ad.
@@DanielTroyer yupp! thats the goal for 2025 for me personally
