The 2024 Nissan Z NISMO brings everything from a slight power increase, to chassis stiffening, upgraded brakes and tires, revised styling for better aerodynamic performance and more aggressive bucket seats. The more track-focused version of the Z addresses many of my personal complaints with the regular Z, mainly the fact that it felt too soft. But is it worth the $68k price tag (as this one was optioned to), how does it compare to the Toyota Supra? I answer all these questions in my review of the Z NISMO. I remember when you first talked about the regular Z earlier this year, i was in the market for the Car at the time, but dealership price gouge by 10k+ for a Sports basic edition. ranging from 52k+ for a sports model. This still hasn't changed and they are constantly out even to today. Its such a shame that i love this design of the vehicle but they really are doing no favors for anyone with the pricing. On the brightside though, i managed to snag a 2010 GTR for 52k with 50k mileage. So i got my other dream car :D in return.

This car is about $61,000 with 10% tax in Japan. Crazy price in the US.
Since you did the living with a gls video (nice video btw), maybe you could do a living with a s-class. That way you will have videos showing the best Mercedes has to offer.

Would be great if they incorporated the ZF gearbox instead, the upshift on this Nismo version is still slow.

Looks fantastic all the way around in that white to me 👌 the interior is updated, but still dated. Since the Nismo Z is still all Nissan, I would take it over the rebadged BMW called Supra.

Same, look up Zillaboost. Threw Z1 turbos on the base model and is making 620+ hp.

If Nismo can beat Supra in circuit lap time, we can definitely say that Nismo is better than Supra. But on the track, the Supra seems to be better. In that case, I think the correct answer is to buy a regular Z and use the difference in price to customize it to your liking.
Yep the value is not there. 68k for 20 more horsepower?! I can buy a performance for 53 k and do my own upgrades and pull that thing up to 500hp!

Nismo is going to hold value a lot better and is going to be a lot more special. You need about 10-15k to get a performance model to the level of a Nismo anyway with all the work needed, brakes, cooling, and the bodykit. This body offer better aero for less lift and more downforce which is what you need when going high speed.

That's a great-looking car!!! Nissan could have upgraded the turbos or tuned the car to have at least 50 bhp more than the regular models and lightened the car a bit.
Car is capable of over 520 wheel horsepower or close to 600 engine horsepower with stock turbos when modded. Good enough to match a lot super expensive sport cars. Also the number 420hp is vastly under rated is more like 450-460 hp
Honestly what a huge disappointment with Nissan on this one. In 2022 I put an order for a Z at my local dealer with an allocation price of 500 bucks. January of 2023 I was called that a Z proto spec had arrived which I was not really interested in. So I decided to take a peak and went to my dealer to my surprise they wanted $90,000 for an exclusive Z that was very limited and one day would be worth hundreds of thousands according to their salesman. I decided to wait as the Z performance was coming right around the corner which was not true. August of 2023 I got a call on a white Z with red interior had just been unloaded off the truck and ready for a new home. I quickly went to the dealership to find out that they wanted a $15k markup due to high demands and limited supply. I called several dealerships and they went from an $8k markup to $35k. So I decided to wait on the Nismo at this point and it’s almost $70k before markups. At this point I should just buy a corvette for the same price, this pricing with Nissan dealerships is so ridiculous and I just hope that they make it possible for enthusiasts to be able to afford.

It’s damn if you do and damn if you don’t for the jdm sportscars. There was a period wherein they almost stopped making sportscars everybody was clamoring, now they are back everybody hating on prices. Just appreciate them that they’re back. Brands edging each other keep bringin back one model after the other.
If you’re complaining about the prices then it’s simple. You can’t afford it and it’s not for you.
If I could design it, I would give it DCT and magnetic ride so it could compete with the Supra. As it is, it is not capable of competing with the Supra but it certainly competes in the looks. I think is looks beautiful in black.
Stock for Stock as they roll out the showroom, after driving both. I can tell you this will destroy the supra around a circuit.
Wym it compete? It already close stock. Tuning both gives you a very similar experience

I drive my current 370z in auto manual mode 85% of the time. See zero reason to have a clutch and would certainly love this new tranny in the Nismo.

Really makes sense for an auto only. So many people don’t know how to do manual. And want to buy a special car. Toyota and Honda make manual only cars that are special. So Nissan made a good choice.

I just don't see how you could take this car over a Supra 3.0, even with that car being more clinical. It has a better engine, a better gearbox, a better interior (even if you hate the BMW parts/design, it is still of higher quality than the Z), and a much newer chassis. As you said, the Z should've come like this Nismo from the factory, and now to get it the way it should've been, you have to pay an exorbitant price which makes no sense. Nissan could've done so much better here.

The vr30 is better than the b58. The vr30 is a square design compared to the under square b58 which inhibits its horspower. Throw z1 turbos on the z and you’ll make 750 wheel horspower, throw ams alpha 10 turbos and you’ll make 1000wheel horspower(built engine of course).
The price is too much do, base z is the best.
Nobody ever appreciates the fact that it exists at all. Nissan didn't have to make this car at all, let's celebrate that we have one :)

Viewers, its 70k because times have changed concerning the price of goods, inflation, power of currency etc. That said, for 70k, there are better options. I am confused as to what demographic this is for. 70k for an auto non dct track toy that isnt spectacular? Better options. 70k for a sporty daily driver? Better options. Another big issue for me; bargain bin parts car - engine from q50/60, trans from q50/60, chassis from prior 370z. Nissan touts this as a brand new car when it isnt.
Not to mention the reliability of the VR30 has been questionable at best. I know people hate to hear it but the B58 in the Zupr4 is very stout, no issues. Hell even the Coyote & LT are great.

The 9 speed is unique to the z and upgraded in the nismo - the q50 has a 7spd. Not to mention the shifts are super quick and more reliable than dct.
It's pricy but you need to check your facts before you make an argument.

It's not really a Toyota huh, the only thing it has going for it is everything that came from a BMW.
It will hold it's value alot better than any current supra model, and stock for stock it would destroy the supra around a track. It's also 3/10ths quicker down the 1/4 than a stock supra.

This car has no business being above 60k 55k at very best. So many better options than this car, my favorites are M240i the Supra which sound way better than the Z and even the CT4V blackwing, I mean a 718 base is what 75k? This Z is in the wrong price bracket.
The Supra sounds VERY artificial. You can fix the sound on the Z for little money
