I remember being 12 and discovering 101. What an amazing live album! Then in junior high, violator came out. I love DM. Best with earbuds. I burned a literal hike through those CD's. Now I have the vinyl.
Violator tour was the best concert I’ve EVER been to...and I’ve seen my fair share of artists over the years ..DM were simply brilliant..Wembley arena..1990 I think it was from memory ..happy days
I turn 15 when i heard enjoy the silence in radio on the way in my nephew car in Thonon lesbain small town in France ...The next day i went to record store called Fnac and bought thier new single and all back catalog LP from Black celeb to Music for the masses ....what a lovly memories❤
But it's too bad DM only work for old fsns, their music style is out and they never made a second Violator... I say anyway that all what's next after it is somehow pathetic.
@@goodbye5030 every serious listener of DM shares my point of view. from a interesting band with edges during the 80's they muted to popular and shitty music without a soul . By the way at their shows they play and replay their 80's titles. #qed
the missing part in the end: Flood: `… lets just throw it out, throw out everything that you knou bout it, and myself and alan then spent half a day just jammin around different ideas and the base line and the `da da da da, da da da da da` [Flood probably means the melody on the lyrics `you can feel now, that's all there is`] came out oft that. The track had completely changed by the time that dave and martin came back and i think it was quite a shock. That was the place where the essence for change and the way were going to work had happened.`
They have recorded Violator in Milan, in a studio near my house. Today is a abandoned building, broken windows and strangled by the grass... I do miss that period!
Violator is a truly great album and has some amazing stuff on it, but they had lost their edge somewhat by then. "Enjoy The Silence" is their greatest hit but also one of their most shallow tracks. For me the golden Depeche Age is from Some Great Reward to Music For The Masses
Yes I agree! I don't like Violator that much, too cold and clinical ...they lost all their previous quirkiness after 1990. I think their attempts to try and find new ways to make music ultimately caused them to break up, ie too many arguments
it's funny to see all of them readily identifying (in 2005-ish) Violator as the best Depeche album, considering that the fans are far from being unanimous about it. My personal favourite (by a small margin) is actually SOFAD
eh? I was 7 and saw them the for the first time in 1990. my brother was 13, his 3rd tour, and he camped outside the arena for 2 days to get in front. the Stockholm show set a world record in hysteria.
@@archciter72 I was 20... I'm now 50. And Violator is still the best Depeche Mode album. Still listen to it. I can neither stop the clock nor turn it back. People age, but great music remains great.
violator is one of the best albums ever made. its just perfect even 30 years after the release.

Un diamant. De n importe quel angle vous regardez cet album, il apparaît parfait.
One of the Greatest bands ever. Influential, uncompromising and enduring
Violator was a tremendous album, had it on cassette, opened my world up ...!!!
I watched these documentaries a few times..😂 now you make me watch them again

Meeting Alan Wilder and Martin gore was the best thing that's happened in my life!! So down to earth!!
@Edward Godsall jealous... I guess.

Depeche Mode is clearly one of these band's that has fan's of all ages. That's what I call unity and REAL fun!

Errrr...call yourself A DM fan????
I think I might be calling myself a DM critic at this point :D
Without Alan DM is just another run in the mill rock band. The atmosphere is no longer there.

Underrated statement yours. DM purity was 1982-1986 and those are facts.
Absolutely
Plant Finder 2004-2005 is a classic.

Согласен , Violator крутой альбом ,но как по мне так Songs of Faith and Devotion еще круче !
Согласен-VIOLATOR самый лучший альбом -depeche mode.

I doubt the majority of those fans camped outside were teenagers. Teenagers listened to Debbie Gibson and New Kids On The Block, not Depeche Mode.
