The turn from red against the cheatin blues to soloing black was insane
"adios you scrubs" before proceeding to come back and troll the game because he placed incorrectly and got plowed (point left instead of giving someone the obvious plow).

In red's defense, I once called my dad a cheater for mating me in chess, so I can see where they are coming from...

worst kind of circumstances too, with those dice, and red trolling, pretending to leave but coming right back, and with such a huge number of 3s getting tons of ore, the only way he could buy so many devs and troll more with those knights.
Red's anger is a good example of what happens sometimes when a player has no chance of winning, for whatever reason. Yes, Red was bad, didn't point his 843 road correctly. But once he gets plowed twice his chances of winning or almost zilch. So, the only way he can "win" emotionally is to revenge black for the more egregious plow. I'm not saying he was right, I'm just saying I understand, and wasn't too surprised.
Not much black can do differently though.
If you can punish a player, decreasing their chances of winning drastically, you should do it because it'll directly help you win, especially at the early stages of the game. You shouldn't hold off on a play because of fear of someone else breaking the rules, whether trolling or cheating.
@Uberude I don't know. Taking a player out like that in an unnecessary manner can result in you being targeted. I found that blacks plow was unnecessary.
Black didn't "give up", taking road here in a non tournament game is king-making imo, as black cannot feasibly win either way. Don't be mad he didn't help you win...
And if you disagree that's fine. But don't tell him he gave up because that's guilt tripping and manipulative when his opinion is valid
This is 100% the wrong mindset. In tournament Catan, your points matter on the leaderboard. It’s good practice to always play for maximum points. Even if black “helps me win” by extending the game with taking road, the ability to balance the game and find value should be exercised. Sometimes, the difference of a 5 point game vs a 7 point game can be what gets you into playoffs or not.
@dandydrew That's why I specified non-tournament. And disagreeing is fine, I don't think there is a clear 100% answer either way, but invalidating his view of it is shitty. He helped as much as he felt comfortable doing without indirectly kingmaking. And thats fine.
Red was so mad omg. He clearly can't hand track either or he would have known why blue made that trade with you, he produces tons of surplus brick and wheat it was way better than porting. He was just mad you plowed him first turn.
report red and prevent him from playing... you really don't need people like that. he's the kind of a guy that will find fault with anything and everything but himself.

I can sympathize with red... black and dandy both plowed his game away, so, He can make sure you both get the -elo too lol. If trading is fair, the social aspect has to be as well.

Yeah, but at that point I had to limit the production of blue as much as I could… I took a risk and the 1/6 7 roll hit. Any amount of rolls for blue there is losing there.
@@dandydrew hindsight is definitely 20/20. Was just curious to the thought process but that makes sense. Rather risk a 7 out than a big roll for blue
This type of things keep happening to me. Yesterday i experience being griffed 3 games in a row... im tired of the 1600s i hope if i get to 1700s it will stop.

I was saying for no one to give blue the win when he asked for kingmaking trades - Deliberately trading a player the win is different than making a trade that gives yourself a fighting chance. Black could have taken road to extend the game which is his best chance to win. Not sure what exactly you find that’s scummy here unless you are taking your own frustrations out on a TH-cam comment.

Not on the same level as outright king making and directly trading the win, and scummy is too strong word but definitely poor form from dandy there. And I think he knew that at the time from the slight pause before clicking accept (although maybe I'm reading too much into it)

Honestly everyone is an L here. Red obviously for throwing a tantrum. Idc if his mom got plowed too ppl like that make the game unbearable to play. Black could’ve extended but they’re also at 4 points and sure you should always play to get the most points possible but the integrity of the game kinda goes out the door when red is purposely trolling. I understand from your perspective how frustrating your position was but I don’t think it was cool to take that out on black the way you did. It should’ve been directed at red for whining and acting like a child. DCsports10 if you’re reading this just know this is the most pathetic thing ever and if you’re a grown ass man doing this then I truly feel sorry for you.

Red's behavior is indefensible. He clearly doesn't understand the game and doesn't enjoy playing. He should stop playing.
