Hey dude, good job! But what game are you making? Will it be a survival game? Or is it just a 2D shooter with some elements of survival? Will it have hunger, thirst, sleep? Will there be an open world in the game, or will it be divided into separate parts? Sorry if I bombarded you with a whole bunch of questions. :D It's just that I've been waiting a long time for someone to make a game like yours. Something like Mini Dayz but for PC, or Project Zomboid but completely in 2D. I hope that your game will be something like that. Anyway, looking forward to the next devblog, and good luck with your future development! P.s. Sorry for my english, I'm from Russia
Hey dude, thanks for your comment and checking it out! The game will be survival with elements of action/shooting. I’m trying to go in as much depth as possible, there will be hunger, thirst, sleep for sure. Other elements like cleanliness which will need to be managed as your player will emit a smell that gets worse as your cleanliness depletes, which will attract zombies from a longer range. The wind will also change the direction of your smell too. I’m trying to currently get the whole world working as a seamless open world, but I may need to separate some rooms into a couple of large biomes, but still be open world. Night time will involve going back to your base and holding off hordes using equipment that has been crafted from exploring. More to come in devlogs soon, once again thanks for checking it out bro!
Thank you dude, the horde movement was created by detecting a collision with other entities, finding a random direction away from the collision and then checking if there’s no other entities or solids there and moving using lengthdir functions. Cheers for watching
Thanks mate! I will be making more in-depth devlogs covering what I’ve made so far and beyond, this is just a bit of a introduction to the project. Thanks for checking it, more to come soon!
Hey what’s up dude, the cars are done using an effect called sprite stacking. Where you draw the car using a number of images, each frame representing a slice of the car from the wheels up to the roof. Then you do a for loop in the draw event for (var i=0; i < image_number; i ++) and draw your car sprite with y-i within that loop. So each frame representing the higher part of the car gets drawn a pixel higher than the last! It’s a cool, simple effect for pseudo 3d.
Thanks dude! I started learning properly in like 2018, but before then I had watched a ton of tutorials since like 2013, but never touched gamemaker. Probably started feeling like I didn't need any tutorials for help about 1 year/1 and a half year of using gamemaker
Yes I’m hoping to be able to recruit a team to work at your base to automate some things like farming etc. And also settlements with makeshift shops/car parts to buy and sell. Thanks for watching dude
@@TheJevonjames will you please release the bruisers on the app store once you have made sure everything's perfect in the game it looks amazing and I really would love to play the game also are you planning on making it a free to play game or a game which needs to be purchased 😊
Hi I'm seth and I'm making a super smash bros like fighting game called xenomon the legacy trilogy and I have a challenge for you the xenomon template challenge I'm making my game into a xenomon template you have 6 months to work on it this is a dnd template you could add code for multiple players this is on the game maker 2 platform And it's a game where you play different arcade fighting games like xenomon and outside fighters and more so the challenge is too make a dream fighting game it could be anything you can mix fighting games with laser tag or the flow is lava or inspired by your favorite tv show it has to be original thought and to make new characters they will be a template or copy and paste a already existing one or make one from scratch and who knows I may feature your dream fighting game and characters in my fighting game and you get to tag 5 people #xenomon #xenomontemplatechallenge
Got this in my recommended! Looks great! Would appreciate if you checked out my stuff maybe? Edit: I think it would be cool if in build mode you could click and drag to build walls
This looks so good.

Damn amazing, how did you made horde movement like this in game maker?

looks like a lot of fun, i hope more updates and soon i want to be able to be playing it, good luck!

Looks really great! One question: how did you implement the cars? Are they actually 3d or did you somehow fake it?
Hey what’s up dude, the cars are done using an effect called sprite stacking. Oh and put i as your image_index so each frame gets iterated up too
looking really promising!
Thanks dude! More in depth devlogs to come soon
The game looks fun, but you should try to upload in higher quality
Brother Great Work...How much time did it took you to learn gms

Will there be settlements and npcs to talk to? like that Armorgames "Decisions" games
or will it be similar project zomboid?
Yes I’m hoping to be able to recruit a team to work at your base to automate some things like farming etc. And also settlements with makeshift shops/car parts to buy and sell. Thanks for watching dude

Yes dude! Just taking a little break, I've always got a bunch of projects going at the same time anyway :D
