Whenever I was still in high school, my bus would come when it was still dark outside. Some mornings, a red fox would sit at the edge of the woods next to my house and watch me wait for the bus. Because of this, foxes have always had a special place in my heart :) (Also, I'm pretty sure a fox is my spirit animal. Or a cat, but who knows haha)
I feel like the animal that has a close bond to my heart is butterflies. I love dogs and was born in the year of the dog, but it is butterflies that have followed me throughout my life one way or another. Also, the German for butterfly - Schmetterling - is my favourite German word!
The crayon ink was often used in japanese etegami and sumi_e painting. They rub the ink crayon on a stone and after thad add a few drops of water to it. Et voilla watercolors with ink
I call it my patronus but I feel very connected to sea turtles. I finally got to hold a baby one and I cried really hard. I wanted to swim with the big ones so much!
the turtle spirit is one of wisdom, longevity and endurance slowing down allows you to feel the sensations of your environment, learning in your own time and learning not to be overwhelmed by the fast pace of life,
So beautiful & cute fox ! Whenever I draw/paint I instant feel better and having hope again. That’s why I make so many art with foxes lately. Here foxes are seen as unwanted animals, bringing trouble etc in that way I also feel connected like I’m the same ‘Unwanted one’ around.
This is my 1st video I've seen of yours, and I couldn't be more happy that I came across it!! This is probably the cutest fox I've ever seen, and the way you did the sky is just absolutely beautiful! I am now a subscriber and am looking forward to watching more of your videos! Very inspirational! Thanks for sharing!💗
This art piece is so cute! For me, I've always felt really connected to the wolf. They are such majestic and beautiful animals, and I have always used them as a guide or role model throughout life. I've always loved wolves ever since I was a little girl too. I guess that means the wolf is my spirit animal ^_^
Beautiful painting. My youngest son died at 26. He loved penguins all his life, since he passed, I have adopted penguins as my guide I would say. They bring me comfort.
I love inktense! I have the pans and the pencils. I love that they allow you to put down non watersoluble but still translucent elements in watercolor, but they can be opaque if you want.
I've always felt really connected to oceanic manta rays, so maybe that is my spirit animal? I love the way your fox turned out. The blue wisps look really cool!
I've always been drawn to bat's, Love them so much and always want to hold one. The inktence are beautiful, it took a bit of getting used to but once you do you love them. Also you can get little holders for the blocks so you don't have to hold them, also a sharpener where you sharpen and the bits drop into a little container then you can use them in your art
Ever since I was a kid I would draw along the edges where shading would be with chalk pastels and then added water to do gradients. I felt like I had a bit more control, saturation and less patchiness than watercolours and they blended better than watercolour pencils. This seems like an upgrade to that
Crows and ravens are my spirit animals. Ironically enough, I've had a lot of encounters with said animals too, and have even befriended a family of ravens that used to live in one of the trees outside my condo. I've had some interesting encounters with a couple deer, an owl and a wild cat as well.
Wow! Cool items in that box. =) I LOVE your illustration. It’s beautiful. I don’t know what my spirit animal(s) is/are. ... but the first animal that came to mind was a wolf... so that’s probably the main one.
Once again a wonderful piece; and your explanation of the fox’s meaning is very correct. I was taught to interpret interactions with spirit guides when I was younger, and that was the exact theme I was taught. On our first meeting the instructor also gave his insight on ours, i was linked with a wolf.
I have a box of these Inktense water-soluble bars and I hate them, they dry leaving a very chalky finish and the colors don't mix very well. I really like the Derwent products, specially the Inktense pencils and the watercolor pencils but I think this product can be improved a lot.
I absolutely love foxes. This is sooo good. Glad you kept the trees the same as the background. Its amazing. I dont know if it's a spiritual thing but I have always loved Orcas. Ever since I was a small child. I'd love to see a pod of them out in nature. I'd probably feel a little scared as I'm tiny and they are huge. But wow they are fascinating and beautiful.
Inktense is very good 😊 lovely vivid inks Really like that you got 12 watercolor sheets instead of only 1 or 2 sheets. Yeah those white paintbrush bristles stain very fast Great drawing 😊
I’ve been trying to find these for months! I borrowed a few of those inktense blocks from my art teacher without knowing what they were and assumed they were pastels and I couldn’t figure out what brand they were. thank you for reminding me of these just in time for prepping for my senior thesis project (:
Spirit Animals make me think of the hilarious movie Hot Rod as he chanted his spirit animals: "Bald eagle, bottle-nose dolphin, arctic fox, house cat!" 😂
Love your little fox. Great job :D And I'm with you, it was a good box. All the test's I'm taking, show me that my spirit animal is Tiger. And I can relate to that. It don't have to be true, but it sure is fun :D
Loving your little foxy company 🥰 If I had a spirit animal, mine would definitely be a wolf 🐺 It's been my absolutely favourite animal for ages and whenever I'm asked what my spirit animal would be, it's the first animal that comes to my mind and the one animal I'd absolutely gravitate towards.
My spirit animal is a water bear as they are tough and can get through the harshest of trials. I got this skrawlrbox and I LOVE it! I totally want the whole set of inktense blocks now 😭
I love this art piece! It's so colorful! 😍 I actually do not like the chalky texture and pastels and crayons are my least favorite art supply but I like watercolor. Watercolors and alcohol-based markers are my favorite art supplies. 💕 I kind of want to try these art supplies. They seem pretty different but maybe that's a good thing? It definitely helps art block to do different things.😊❤
I loooove the way you can see so many tones in the fox but it's very subtle and nice, that medium looks so interesting!! I hope you get to try it again and show us please!! (Im a huge fan of yours and I know most boxes get used only once unless they're like for color challenged after). Very nice artwork
I wouldn't necessarily agree with the idea that most boxes are only used once. I've been getting it for a while now and yes there are boxes that I swatch and then never touch again but there are many more that either one or multiple parts get reused all the time!
I absolutely adore foxes, but I ended up doing a pair of illustrations - I did a duck for my son (his favourite animal) and a bear for me (because in our house, we are momma bear, daddy bear and baby bear) I found the texture challenge, but was happy with my final pieces! 😊
I think foxes are close to me as well but I definitely agree with having more than one guide. When my best friend and I were in middle school over summer vacation we did a meditation to find our spirit animals together and we both had two! We are both Gemini and each had a predator animal and a prey animal which felt appropriate to our duality of nature. Mine were a doe and a lynx and hers were a field mouse and a hawk
I couldn't have Sally in the room and get any work done! Lookit de widdle tummy !! I am actually not sure about my current spirit animal, but I think it might be a crow. I used to have an elephant mom and I think she might still be there too. I mean. I don't truly believe these things, but I do love animals and I see no fault in letting them inspire me in life, so I embrace it. A Sami acquaintance of mine has invited me to join in on a drum session and find out soon, and I will definitely go.
I really love your fox its super cute ^-^ My spirit animals are wolves, deer and snow leopards. I especially feel connected with the last ones lately but I really really love the concept of spirit animals! Here in germany we have so called "Krafttiere" which is basically the same from my understanding and I believed in it scince I was a little kid. That concept has helped me through so much in live already and it makes me happy to hear other peoples stories and experiences with it ^-^

Yay! First one to comment. I absolutely love Alice’s work. I started following her when she did the TH-cam Artist Collective. I miss getting the Scrawlr box. Might get this box. 😃😄😁
I think if you used the Inktense as inks, as they are marketed, you would have an easier time with their usage. I have the blocks and pencils and they are amazing if used properly. They work great alone or in a mixed media piece.
Foxes, butterflies, and dragons have been my spirit animals for as long as I can remember. For a while I thought axolotls were too but it turns out I just think they are cute. :}
I feel very connected to raccoons and housecats. I would love to actually BE a cat lmao, preferably with a very kind person. I'd love to spend my days getting scritches and finding all the warm spots to sit.
Kattvalk, if you want to see a different way of using the inktense look up lachri fine art channel which is run by Lisa clough. She did the art work for the inktense tins and does some brilliant work with them. Flamingos and red pandas and all sorts of things.
