    Nice, like that uses USB-C and has that breakout board with buzzer. Makes mounting so much more flexible.

    Nice that its smaller than the F765 Wing version... which I received just the other day and is a bit large for the plane I had in mind for it... so I might opt for this instead.
    Thanks for the review Andrew!

    The prices are just too high for the matek. Now it is easier to buy some kind of JMCU, which is based on the same chip and is 2 times cheaper, only in the form of a square case for drones and without a current sensor. But already most of the new good ESCs come with a current sensor.

    nice looking product. Did you get it in a plane yet? I want to build up to a full autonomous setup over time and am starting to gather some gear, would love to see your thoughts on starting from scratch in today's market

    • @AndrewNewton
      @AndrewNewton  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Not yet. Ardupilot is probably the best for fully autonomous, Kopilot for the simplest, and INAV in-between.

    Question, Andrew if you would be kind enough: @8:27 in video; if I am using my 765-WSE with DJI air unit for fixed wing and intend to use the RC control, its very clear how all of the wires should connect from the DJI air unit wiring harness, except for the BROWN wire (signal ground next to yellow coming of DJI air unit), the Matek wiring guide doesn't say where to put it. The diagriam just has it blank ....appreciate the helpful video.

    • @AndrewNewton
      @AndrewNewton  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I have not used the DJI RC signal, but wiring diagrams I found show that any UART G pad can be used.

    I still don't understand the STM32 shortage. I mean covid, ok. But that doesn't really cover it. I'm on their mailing list and getting mails all the time about this or that new product they just released, wtf. It's so bad I'm actually learning a whole new eco-system (Nordic nRF5) which seems to have no difficulty with supply. As a bonus they come with built in radio functionality and freely assignable pins.

    i have this FC and I have installed ardupilot. Now I would like to go back to Inav 6.1 however when try to flash nothing happens. I click on flash firmware but it doesn't do anything. do you know if I have to do a special procedure since i have ardupilot in the FC ? thank you very much in advance

    • @AndrewNewton

      The boards needs to be connected in DFU mode. Download the INAV firmware file to your PC from Github then try Load Firmware (local)

    Andrew, were you able to configure the accelerometer for the F765-WSE with iNav 3.0.2? I'm asking because when I tried to, I could not. When I tried to add the hardware via CLI command as recommended by Matek, I get the following: :-\
    Entering CLI Mode, type 'exit' to return, or 'help'
    # get acc_hardware
    acc_hardware = ICM42605
    Allowed values: NONE, AUTO, ADXL345, MPU6050, MMA845x, BMA280, LSM303DLHC, MPU6000, MPU6500, MPU9250, BMI160, ICM20689, BMI088, ICM42605, FAKE

    • @masabo01
      @masabo01 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Well, when I issued the "get hardware" CLI, the result came back and specified that the accelerometer was indeed set to ICM42605 so I guess I'm good to go. Don't know why it's not showing up on the Configurator screen though. A bug, I suppose.

      I have never used Dragonlink but PPM is no longer supported with INAV 4. Maybe try an earlier version. Best to ask on the Facebook Group facebook.com/groups/INAVFixedWing/

      Missing the correct USB driver on your PC at a guess. Ask on the INAV Fixed Wing Facebook group for guidance. Also there are driver links on the INAV configurator front page.

  • @TakeItToTheGround
    @TakeItToTheGround 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    After a few years of just building everything with INAV, I've decided, for the moment, that I just want to fly without all the encumbrances. And honestly my planes fly better without an FC, and are in the air & "tuned" in about a 1/10 of the time. Keep it simple.

    • @AndrewNewton
      @AndrewNewton  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes I agree. INAV is really just an interesting technical exercise in the overall scheme of things. Just flying, or slope soaring is so much better.

  • @erlandfpv

    Compare to matek H743 wing, how about?

    • @AndrewNewton
      @AndrewNewton  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      For INAV I would choose F765. If you have Ardupilot and CAN devices then H743 is better.

    How about a RF radiation evaluation? Matek boards are becoming infamous for spewing out processor noise...

    • @AndrewNewton

      I wasn't aware of that. Seems to me that they are better filtered for video than most other boards.
