BUNGO STRAY DOGS NEXT!!!! I swear on my family name that you guys would love this one, and if not, THEN THE HOLMES FAMILY SHALL RENAME ITSELF TO WHATEVER YOU LIKE!
7:50 I think it's interesting to note how Hawks' dad had a bird/wing-based quirk, while his mom had a sensory quirk, both of which merged together in Fierce Wings. Also, if you go back and rewatch The Hellish Todoroki Family pt. 1 and pay close attention, you notice that the fight where Endeavor arrested Hawks' dad is the very same one that inspired Ending, the guy with the road lines, to choose Endeavor as his intended means of death.
Hawk's quirk is actually a combo quirk like Shoto's. He gets the supple wings that he can control from his dad, but the reason they can sense vibrations and stuff is from his mom's eye quirk.
Endeavor: I can't fight my son~..😥 *Todoroki sees his father emotional and gets uncomfortable then shut the door* Endeavor: *SHOTOOOOOOOOOH!!!!* 😫😫 I know it's an emotional moment but that part always kills me😂
I always interpreted Shoto's expression as, "Well, that didn't stop you from 'training' me, DAD." Maybe not the appropriate moment for some comedy, but it gets me nonetheless. 🤣
I've always thought the part about Hawks' mom getting him an Endeavor toy because it was cheaper than All Might's is so interesting. Even though it would be the furthest thing from what All Might himself wants, his popularity and the capitalistic society almost puts a price point on his presence as a heroic figure. Poor kids might be able to see him on TV occasionally, but they can't afford to play with toys of him or buy his trading cards and other similar merchandise like Deku and Bakugo could.
Small detail lost in translation: when Endeavor asks his wife what she's doing there, there's a connotation in the original Japanese of, "Are you all right being here?" Meaning, after her time in a mental clinic because of his mistreatment of her, is she really OK with facing him and being in his presence.
Yeah I'm pretty sure "What are you doing here?" covers that it's like Endeavor is shocked that she's willing to face him again after everything that happened.
It's ironic that Hawks idolizes Endeavor, given the abusive environment he grew up in. And yet, even after learning the truth about the man he admires, Hawks still wants to help him; because he truly is his hero.
I think the heroes who quit get too much hate. They signed up expecting to just help their community and maintain the peace not to fight against gods and monsters. The average hero that isn't a Mirko or Endeavor can't do jack about nomu or gigantomachia except die. And the public isn't criticizing them, they are straight up blaming and hating them for what was out of most of their control. I do not blame some of them for quitting.
Oh absolutely they had All Might to deal with the biggest threats for years so they only had to occasionally deal with minor villains and thugs if I was a Pro-Hero in MHA and I saw one guy touch the ground turning an entire city to dust or if I saw a giant unstoppable beast tearing through entire cities I'd definitely quit that whole job too.
Hawks is my favorite. His personality and his quirk are both so cool. The wings are/were so beautiful and, along with his hair color, make him look like an angel. It thus makes me very upset what happens to Hawks later.
I gotta say for hawks when he was a child, he was such a smart kid that no matter what hurts him or what anybody says he won’t become bad as that person now this just shows how even for Hawks past he still believes in the good there is out there in the bad that’s in here and he has become a great hero
33:08 and we're back to Stain, this is what he was referring to, heroes only being in it for fame and money, clearly not being strong or not caring enough to keep going if those things become unatanainable, now we're in a broken society where truer heroes remain
Well I wouldn’t say he was “groomed” but I also don’t think what they did was morally correct either. Granted, they gave him an education and a career path while he came from a terrible background. So it was better for him. You could even argue that they saved his life. But yeah ideally it would have been best if they gave him a choice down the line on whether to continue or not.
Continuing on the subject of Hawks, I gotta say, it's super interesting that his dad, who was probably charged with domestic abuse among his crimes, got arrested by another domestic abuser. It really goes to show how hypocritical hero society can be. I just feel so bad for Hawks, man. And honestly, something that people don't talk about enough is the Hero Public Safety Commission. Like, they basically did what All for One did with Shigaraki, just on the "hero" side of things. They manipulated an impressionable kid into their care and then turned him into a soldier. It's honestly super freaky. And on the subject of freaky, it's pretty messed up that Endeavor, and abuser, had the authority to have another abuser arrested. Yeah, crying aside, I don’t feel *that* bad for Endeavor, like, at all. He’s gotten off pretty easy overall, and he honestly has nobody to blame but himself.
Bit of a hot take but I would hardly call what Rei does as standing up to Endeavor that being said it's still an incredibly brave thing to do to be willing to face him again after everything that happened.
@@You-Tube-n5k Exactly, she pretty much said quit your crying because we've had it worse than you because YOU made it that way for us. She's basically saying it's time for you to finally listen to us now. We both need to start taking parenting seriously from now on moving forward. We don't have time for self-pity because there are bigger issues at hand.
I know hawks didn’t have a choice but he didn’t go against it. He actually wanted to become a hero. So in my opinion, even if they asked hawks if he’d rather stay with his mom or go with them. I feel like he would choose the ladder. 9:20
Even though Dabi revealing what Endeavor did to the Todoroki family completely shattered whatever was left of the small amount of trust the public would have still had in heroes and him specifically, I'm so glad Dabi still did it. A lot of the frustration Natsuo had with Endeavor was because of the fact that Endeavor basically got off with no consequences, unlike the rest of the family. Sure, he started to feel guilty, but he still had a cushy house, millions of adoring fans and was the number one hero, all without the entire country knowing the way he horrifically abused his family to get to that point. I'd even argue getting it all out in the open was a *necessary* step forward.
Sucks that this is how it had to happen. Instead of owning up to what he did, Endeavor had to basically be forced to confess rather than doing it willingly. This is a running thing with Endeavor though. He won’t atone unless he has to, because he’s a pro hero first, and a decent human being second.
@CallMeSpinner The next episode kind of snuffed out any chance of me liking him as a person. Even before that I wasn't particularly enthusiastic about it, but seeing what he did to Rei in particular in the next episode made me acknowledge that I'd never really like him as a person, just that I'd admit he's a capable hero and that he's trying. But what he did to Rei is something I firmly believe no one can really come back from.
@@CallMeSpinnerI think the point is that he felt that his family drama was between him and his family. I don’t think he needs to lose everything to atone for his sins
BUNGO STRAY DOGS NEXT!!!! I swear on my family name that you guys would love this one, and if not, THEN THE HOLMES FAMILY SHALL RENAME ITSELF TO WHATEVER YOU LIKE!
It just goes to show how well written My Hero Academia is when we first get introduced to Endeavor's character I utterly despised him and hoped that he would get punished badly for what he did to Shoto and his family. Then All Might retired, which forced Endeavor to reflect on his choices, he actually started learning from it all and began earnestly repenting for his action to the point that I started really liking him. But now that the punishment I once hoped for has come all I see is a sad utterly broken man filled with so much regret and I absolutely take no satisfaction in it.
I always find it interesting how hawks grooming and indoctrination literally mirrors the Jedi in Star Wars. The flaws. It's so interesting especially with a show/manga that has so many Easter eggs to star wars in the first place
In that one question, they should have said the commission trained him to be a hero. Wording it as you did is a spoiler for a future plot point in this season. They are caught up to it now thankfully but that was poorly worded for them at this point in the season. I'm glad Kenny was able to spin it to the Best Jeanist situation, fantastic job!
I know that people are willing to fight back against criminals, but but with weapons like that, and a battle like that it could cause major destruction to the area. That’s why there’s rules or the law about why only license heroes Should be the ones to face the criminals or villains; man where is the trust
The laws are basically, if you're in a corner, defend yourself. However, villains are VERY dangerous, so if you can run away from them, take that action. This scene is exactly the reason why it's illegal for civilians to actively go AFTER villains. Like the store owner was fighting back, but he SHOULD have run away. Like the only thing at stake here is his STUFF, and because he decided to fight to the death for STUFF, the whole BUILDING got knocked over and other people got badly injured that weren't even related to the crime happening. If he'd done what he should have, those guys would've taken his money, run away, and Wash could've come in and stopped them, then gotten his money back, or he'd have insurance against exactly this kind of thing. In a world like this it would be commonplace for businesses to have villain insurance. Insurance can't fix your injuries from trying to fight villains though.
You said it was a very neutral tone when Hawks found out that his mother sold him out. Keep in mind he was speaking through a voice box. Can't really express emotions in your voice that easy with that. Also maybe if he expressed emotion loudly he would damage his vocal cords more. Keep in mind that Dabi really hurt him.
I get him being on the older side of course. But I feel like the show has done a great job setting up that hero work can come in many different forms. From investigating like Gran Torino and Ragdoll switched to. He could even switch to evacuating, rescues, and recovery. Or helping with healthcare. He could even try to assist the commission since they just lost the chairwoman. I feel like if I was in his position I would have tried to at least switch to assisting a different aspect of hero work instead of being on the battlefield. Even in this episode, Wash arrived late so instead of rescue he switched to trying to disinfect their wounds before transporting them to the hospital. It all depends on their knowledge of varying aspects of hero work which of course I don't know. I also don't know what his specific quirk is, all I know is that he's a samurai. So I don't know where else he could fit. He just couldn't have picked a worse time imaginable to retire, poor dude 😂 If I was a hero and I retired during that time it would make me feel worse because he still would need to look over his shoulder because of all the escaped prisoners. I'd rather be actively trying to help than just retired, and not able to use my quirk while being paranoid that an escapee would try to off me.
@deadsetondreams1988 yeah I just say this because I feel like the man probably saw the bs shigaraki was pulling and was just like yeah no Way my old self can keep up with that I'm retiring before I get called to fight that man. Also if I had to hazard a guess about his quirk I'm going to say maybe it's something like Erza's requip.
@@CallMeSpinner hears the thing gran Torino has a actual chance against shigaraki because not only can he fly so he's safe from the decay wave he also has a chance at dodging shigaraki seeing as he has good reflexes and can fight at high speed.
Seeing Rei finally stand up to Endeavor and put him in his place was immensely satisfying ngl. The circumstances are messed up, but she's honestly a real one for still coming back to face him after what he did to her.
@@HaydrogenBomb I don’t really have an opinion on attractiveness lol, but yes, she is more of a character. Mitsuki doesn’t really have an arc and is mostly just there. Nothing wrong with that, but Rei’s probably the best character who’s a mom in the series. Not the best mom, but considering what she was going through it’s hard to be mad at her. Great character. Wish she had more scenes though tbh.
@@CallMeSpinner You have a point tbh. Especially after this most recent season. We thought Enji was going to atone for his past. But no, Rei is the one atoning for him.
It’s finally time to learn about our local hero spy. The story of what made Keigo Takami the #2 hero. In a classic zero to hero story. And we start off with Bakugo displaying his newfound care for Deku in the single WORST way I can think of as literally ANYTHING he commits to in this situation is just going to cause nothing but trouble, and nothing but hell for the people who never had a doubt on their unconditional love for Deku like his mom, his dad, (and I am just referring to All-Might) or his ACTUAL close friend group that is always there for him. (Hence why he needs a team of classmates literally trying to physically restrain him so he DOESN’T because they know where he’s going and what he’s most likely to do) And that genuinely makes me wonder if this rivals his season 1 cruelty purely from the people he could unintentionally hurt IN THIS CIRCUMSTANCE with what has happened to Deku. Ok now we got some backstory. Keigo came from humble beginnings. Still loving to watch his heroes on TV. He’s a year younger than Touya. So even way back then, All-Might had been field active for decades and Endeavor possibly over a decade already by that juncture. I mean these two cartoon characters are just EVERYTHING he doesn’t have around him. With such staggering displays of role models like his mother and father to match. They came from humble beginnings. A destroyed house filled of everyone’s baggage. With everyone trying to make the world a better place…or just the absolute worst conditions for a child and we have new rivals if not the new crowns for the worst parents in all of MHA and there’s already MASSIVE competition. His “father” a villain that was just a freaking horrible person with an even worse temper than Endeavor willing to kill over the slightest provocation. And his “mother” a broken woman lost to paranoia. And neither have a single value, attachment, or ANY kind of endearment for their child. Heck I wouldn’t even say Keigo classifies as their child. He’s their crotch-spawn. I’d give them the crown for the worst parents but I don’t think they even meet the threshold of BEING parents. Between the scene his mom screams at him to get them money, and her even saying to his FACE “Why did I bother having you?” And her literally seeming DESPERATE to sell her child to the government. And her being the REASONABLE ONE of the two “parents.” The fact that Endeavor is his hero because he arrested his father. We’re rolling down this hill FAST. And he’s been trained by the government ever since to not just be a hero but a specifically trained Government Spy. And we get a good look at what his training has lead to today. Covered in 3rd degree burns and communicating through a phone speaking the words he types. How they faked Best Jeanist’s death in season 5 by making him essentially a reverse Nomu, (being alive forced into a false death rather than being dead forced from eternal rest to be “alive” again.) and him just being forced to sit and wait in the car while Best Jeanist does all the on the fly hero work. Best Jeanist is the only one of the top 3 with his reputation not in shambles from Dabi’s big announcement. So he can still be an active hero with next to no consequence with a Batmobile, Fantastic Four fiber lines, and his iconic pose for everyone on the scene still getting to make it look mostly like a street show. MAJOR difference though. The public isn’t entirely buying the show anymore. They more see the hurt people, the lacking law enforcement available…and the quitting heroes that only wanted the show, the glory, and the money. And people are quietly arming themselves as they simply see no other choice with so many heroes being gone from the scene. And now Hawks that he’s “free” from the public safety commission for the time being, he gets to freely act as he desires. Not as a government official, but just as a hero. He finds his mom had run off from being ashamed and scared for her life with Dabi essentially running her out of town. And we can assume the note was left sometime when the kids were working with Endeavor before the fight with the villain “Ending” who was hyper fixated on the arrest of the thief called Takami. And we now know Dabi was the one who helped him with intel to make that attack happen that day. Dabi likely put together that because his name was not public like other heroes that it had to be hidden, and knew if he’s a big Endeavor fan the erased past was likely related to something Endeavor did…like capturing a villain. And I have NO IDEA how he found the house of someone under government protection who started a new life. And he thinks that his good intentions to save lives was overshadowed by the lives like his mom he abandoned is just like Twice’s bad intentions to keep the villains loose came from a good source of purely wanting his friends safe. And Hawks wants to strive to find that good source like Twice did. He can’t track down his mother anymore. But he truly believes he only started once his “father” was removed from his life by Endeavor. And now it’s time to truly return the favor with Endeavor’s life getting torn apart publicly. And while all these aspects for the heroes fell apart, the thriving villains escaping from prison, the collateral of the war, and the league WITH Nomu being confirmed…the public couldn’t take it. They’ve been questioning heroes ever since Stain shouted about how the heroes are not as selfless as they appear but false showmen and cowards turning their backs the moment they get genuine pushback. (The Nomu contributed sure, but Stain’s grandstanding was the 1st thing that the public saw even over the Hosu attack) Their hearts were never in their job. And even old retirees who had planned their retirement for after the war like Yorai Musha the #9 hero, a man who was doubtful if he could handle AFO’s returning era, he was still an extremely competent hero that was leaving the scene. The public now defending themselves with Detnerat’s support items, it didn’t result in an easy solution the heroes always made on the scene. But just nothing but more collateral. And MASSIVE amounts at that. (Cider House Gang is the group Todoroki and Bakugo defeated when they 1st got their provisional licenses. A side group that 1st years could easily best every facet of their operation…now laying in a demolished city block with few survivors) Now with the fantastic theme called “The Fall of Heroes” (I’m not sure if that’s the actual song name, but the version I found of this song had the same episode listed for what it was based off of.) as the backdrop, and among my favorite themes from this season honestly. With all that has collapsed, we see Stain preparing to enter this tragedy. Say what you will about the man, but when he was active and judging the worth of heroes, he always insured that it was ONLY the heroes were a factor. He wanted a stronger society. Not a collapsed one. We see the golden statue of everyone remembering the peace All-Might gave, and now what he can no longer provide. And this is likely the plan AFO had in store when he woke up after the United States of Smash while STILL AT THE KAMINO CRATER and he allowed himself to be arrested. (He likely could have immediately went back to fighting for all we know.) He could have made All-Might a martyr that day, but chose not to. Because the public NEEDS his peace once again. And he can’t come with his body so torn up. And to top it off, their CURRENT number 1 protector…gets the most of the backlash. All these failures. Fall on him as the last line of defense. He’s called the “Symbol of Hope.” And while all he’s strived for had us get hope things could change as he would, now with Dabi, we see him lay hopeless. His role as a hero has been shattered. And he can’t repair what Touya ripped apart. He has to stop Touya…and he can’t. He feels all the right emotions when confronted by this, but it’s too late. And right when he gives up, Shoto sees him. Natsuo isn’t having it because yeah, you’re a DECADE late. Personal growth aside, there were ways to avoid this long ago. But he didn’t. And while Natsuo confronting him with this is CERTAINLY powerful and Endeavor recognizing his failures is powerful…it’s not as powerful as Rei Todoroki leaving the mental institution after a decade and IMMEDIATELY going to speak to Endeavor about their family. A man she has EVERY RIGHT to walk away from and never look back with her children, is now here to settle it all and open the absolute deepest wounds of the Todoroki family. The ones we’ve known of…but never addressed properly. All to get to the root. Next episode…is in my opinion the hardest episode to write about. Period. More than ANY complex subject political or otherwise. We’re going to the depths.
- To this day, I STILL think you're being harder on Bakugo than he deserves at this point. I hear what you're saying, but it's not like Deku was in the middle of surgery, and Bakugo planned on barging in and disrupting the operation just to see him. Just, lay off the kid a bit, will you? - The fact Hawks looked up to Endeavor as much as he did while having such an abusive upbringing is so ironic that there's no WAY it wasn't intentional by Horikoshi. - I always interpreted Shoto's expression after hearing Endeavor say he can't fight his own child (i.e. Toya) as, "Well, that never stopped you when you were 'training' me, DAD." Maybe not the appropriate time for some comedy, but I thought it was good. 😅 Also, yeah. Rei stepping up as the matriarch of the family and confronting Endeavor is SO satisfying. Just looking at each of their expressions when they see each other (Rei stern and hardened, Enji surprised and nervous) is such a reverse of when they last saw each other. Rei's an underrated character, if you ask me, though I guess you could say that about a lot of characters from this series. MAN, this cast is massive.
@@HaydrogenBomb I agree with almost all your points and you know which one I don’t. I’m aware of what Deku’s situation is, but Bakugo can’t possibly be aware of it. He doesn’t know what the doctors are doing, he doesn’t know who is with Deku, he doesn’t know any of that, but I’m also all but certain he would be taking the exact same approach regardless. All he heard was Deku hasn’t shown any signs of waking up and bust out of the room. And the NEXT SCENE we see what he was planning on doing had he actually succeeded in getting into Deku’s room, and it would’ve been an absolute dumpster fire. Bakugo is 16 years old and barging into a hospital room to scream at a comatose patient about what was it again? Oh yeah, about his punctuality in waking up from his coma taking too long. (That’s not hyperbole, that is exactly what he was screaming about) And with the potential audience of CONSCIOUS people having to witness this, yeah I think my anger is more than warranted. And if you think he wasn’t going to, then I again point to the kids literally physically restraining him from getting to the room, and the hospital staff freaking out, none of the adult heroes stopping the restraint because they agree, and Iida and Uraraka both thinking this COULD have been a point where he took a different approach but he clearly didn’t. I don’t see a trace of reason to give him leeway just because Deku was his 1st thought when he woke up in the hospital. I will say that there is a specific plan in mind as I analyze Bakugo this way that I’ve been very prepared for. So there’s no stopping this train either.
@ Yeah, Deku’s my favorite character by a long shot, and I know bullies like Bakugo and I have properly gotten them to be my friends like Deku tries to with him. But I am also extremely aware how long it took and how much effort it required to be even CLOSE to healthy. And it’s just a LOT. It wasn’t pure improvement, and heck they even tried NOT to be friends. LIKE Bakugo. It took over half a decade. And that’s how I know darn well even with the leaps of progress Bakugo makes, that there’s just not a shot that things have normalized and stabilized between the two of them. It’s not that I wasn’t proficient, and Deku only needs about 6-8 months, but that’s just not a relationship that 180’s in the time frame given to us. And that’s a HUGE factor to why I never give Bakugo full leeway. He might be the fan favorite character and a character that has AWESOME progress, but it’s also important to know when and where he wins YOU over, and when and where he properly wins other people over. And for Deku, that’s going to be the longest road of them all, even with the two of their arcs going down the path of them being friends. It just won’t be that when Deku has to accommodate Bakugo 24/7.
Tbh, despite the circumstances, it is satisfying to see Enji finally get brought to his lowest point. After all this time, he's been basically hiding behind his job. Granted he still does that after this, but the public turning on him was still absolutely earned on his part.
Just putting it out there. All Might is part of the failure of society as well. Unfortunately Endeavor is the face now and has had to claw his way up in ways that All Might did not have to.
It's downright arrogant to assume you can do the job of a professional better than they can and that's why the people are in the wrong too. Yes the situation sucks but attempting to fight with no training just makes more of a mess for the heroes who are still trying to help. For example when Wash came upon one of those brawls and they were yelling at him, he did'nt even acknowledge it and instead focused on taking care of them.
@@sal2028 Of course not but pretending they have the slightest idea what their doing does'nt help either and as pointed out in a future episode even if they can fight off a random thug the nomu and dangerous villians like Moonfish will easily masacare them.
The HPSC isn't corrupt, what do you mean? They were VERY overt and legit the entire time. Do you not know what corruption is? It's not sometimes doing less than savory things you know, that's just the dark side of society, corruption is when they have a specific task, for example, guarding a bank, and then they DON'T do that task for some reason such as they get paid to look the other way. THAT is corruption. If your job is to train heroes and you adopt a kid with no future but with incredible potential, that's you doing your job. They did not kidnap Keigo, they did not force either of them, they made a VERY generous offer, adopted him, took care of him, and WITH KEIGO'S FUCKING PERMISSION they taught him how best to use his quirk to become the hero HE WANTS TO BE. Then he DID IT. He's the number 2 hero and he's a very well adjusted person. The fact he needed to do things like with Twice sometimes isn't a sign of "corruption" or the HPSC "being evil" it's just the shitty side of heroing. Sometimes cops need to shoot people, sometimes firefighters have to choose who to save. Heroing having down sides does not make the HPSC fucking evil. The fact Keigo stayed on track the WHOLE time even as he learned more and more the realities of heroing is proof of his convictions. Comparing the HPSC to fucking ALL FOR ONE is proof you don't know AT ALL what you're talking about.
12:45 You should make a counter for Stain's belief proven correct. Cuz he said Society was full of false Heroes and the fact that these so-called Heroes gave up once they faced criticism and really hard work proves that they were fakes.
I would argue he was half-correct. There were certainly people milking the system for the fame and money. But 145 pro-heroes hospitalized in a day, with dozens dead from a psycho who can turn an entire city to dust. Then IMMEDIATELY after having to deal with six prisons worth of inmates running around while being horribly under-manned. And despite all the injuries, deaths, and non-stop exhaustion from the heroes who really were in it to help others: Society basically spit in their face and blamed them for everything, ignoring the sacrifices they were making and frequently making the job even harder. Hero society had problems, but the civilization they were protecting showed disgusting behavior as well. In light of all that it isn’t surprising some quit in despair.
30:50 I don't like the way this third question is framed. The post-discussion, like a previous episode, is based on American exceptionally. A lot of people forget that MHA is not just a story written by a Japanese person, it is actually set in Japan. A lot of the collectivist culture values and expectations are just different than Western ones. Shame and public disgrace for leading figures (celebrity, political, CEOs) is a big thing to carry. Reasons for Yoroi Musha and other heroes quitting isn't just because there are villains everywhere now and they liked it when their job was glamorous and easy.
I would actually like to see the chemistry between Rei and the new endeavor more, I actually want to see romance between Rei and the Reformed Endeavor even a little.Though many of you guys would lash out at me saying its freaky to talk like that about an abused woman and the man that abused her in the past, but THE NEW ENDEAVOR ACTUALLY SEEMS WORTHY ENOUGH TO AT LEAST GET A ROMANCE WITH HIS OWN WIFE.
@@captainpep3 Season 6 is where I started to doubt him, and season 7 is when I lost all faith in him as a character with an atonement arc. It's some of the sloppiest stuff I've ever seen in this series ngl.
Instead of being the unteenth person on this vid to mention how satisfying Rei standing before Enji as the Todoroki matriarch is, Imma make a possible hot (or , I guess cold) take: Todoroki's mom is better than Bakugo's mom, both in character and design.
Hawks backstory obliterates any chance of the villians getting any sympathy to me. He endured an arguably worse childhood and still chose virtue at a young age. He had the easiest path to villiany outside of Shigaraki and still chose a better way.
I respect you're opinion and as a person who has more mixed opinions on the villains, I'm curious as to what you think would happen if Hawks got helped by someone like AFO and Shigi (or Toga or Dabi, honestly) got picked up by the Hero Commission. Did Hawks become a hero because he was a good person, or because it was the heroes who helped and raised him? Remember, Shigaraki wanted to be a hero too, and resisted the urge to kill people (except his dad, but that's a bit of a special case) until AFO validated his violent urges and encouraged him to lean into them. And if the HPSC validated Toga's quirk urges, and told her she could help people with them, would she not have followed them to the edge of the Earth? The villains' actions cannot be erased, no, but my interpretation is that they're not evil people, and in most cases were pushed to an extreme until they snapped. What would be your take on this?
@midoriya-shonen the hero commission was not heroic. He was effectively a replacement for a character that hadn't been introduced that served as an assassin. Even if someone like AFO approached him, it seems clear that young hawks already had an idea of what bad people were like. He had villains for parents and was raised in a culture of villainy. While the other members of the league were oppressed, almost none were born into these conditions. No villain in the league had a heritage of crime except compress, who had a more noble legacy.
Meh, it's both. The League of villains is miles different to regular villains and thugs, and I do agree that just because you were dealt a bad hand, there's never a justification to try and murder a bunch of children. But Hawks did get help, while the League didn't. Shigaraki was literally groomed into a villain, Dabi as well. Toga was affected by her quirk, Spinner was ostracized because of his quirk as well. They weren't helped but they still chose the path they took so I agree with you on some level.

Endeavor: I can't fight my son~..😥
*Todoroki sees his father emotional and gets uncomfortable then shut the door*
Endeavor: *SHOTOOOOOOOOOH!!!!* 😫😫
I know it's an emotional moment but that part always kills me😂
I always interpreted Shoto's expression as, "Well, that didn't stop you from 'training' me, DAD."
Maybe not the appropriate moment for some comedy, but it gets me nonetheless. 🤣
It's the fact that Enji raises the bed up as he does it that kills me lol
Bro may suck, but he puts his all into his "SHOTOOOOs"
I love it is amzing and funny moment❤
It's freaking Hilarious 😂😂😂 never gets old
I've always thought the part about Hawks' mom getting him an Endeavor toy because it was cheaper than All Might's is so interesting.

My problem is why are the public criticizing hero's for not doing something that the public themselves couldn't even attempt
@@BookishDinosthat’s not the public’s job
The dude's trying, at least. Gotta give Endeavor props for that.
Hawks is my favorite. His personality and his quirk are both so cool. The wings are/were so beautiful and, along with his hair color, make him look like an angel. It thus makes me very upset what happens to Hawks later.
Shoto continues is habit of being hilarious completely unintentionally! I love that kid! 🤣

Agent 57? I think that's their name
Yep. I could.
I’ve debated with one. It’s ridiculous
I think it was standing up to him, but in a less traditional way.
She is facing her abuser.... I'd call that brave but yk
Stain was right, only true heroes can save society. No money, no fame, only hope and heroeism.
5:46 it’s her quirk. She can use those eyes separate from her body
21:46 yori musha quiting make sense he's old as hell whats he going to do against like half the villains that are now free.

A side group that 1st years could easily best every facet of their operation…now laying in a demolished city block with few survivors)
Now with the fantastic theme called “The Fall of Heroes” (I’m not sure if that’s the actual song name, but the version I found of this song had the same episode listed for what it was based off of.) as the backdrop, and among my favorite themes from this season honestly.
Also, yeah.
@Kaempfdog I think this is just something we'll never see eye to eye on, friend.
Montana I love todays shirt, it's amazing!

For example when Wash came upon one of those brawls and they were yelling at him, he did'nt even acknowledge it and instead focused on taking care of them.
.... do you expect the people to just roll over and be victimized?
@@sal2028 Of course not but pretending they have the slightest idea what their doing does'nt help either and as pointed out in a future episode even if they can fight off a random thug the nomu and dangerous villians like Moonfish will easily masacare them.
All for One and the HPSC. Two corrupt parties in either side of a corrupt society…
I agree with you here spinner have nice day iş amzing episode ❤

You should make a counter for Stain's belief proven correct.

Just going to say how many pets do you have!
You should watch DANDADAN NEXT

I would actually like to see the chemistry between Rei and the new endeavor more, I actually want to see romance between Rei and the Reformed Endeavor even a little.Though many of you guys would lash out at me saying its freaky to talk like that about an abused woman and the man that abused her in the past, but THE NEW ENDEAVOR ACTUALLY SEEMS WORTHY ENOUGH TO AT LEAST GET A ROMANCE WITH HIS OWN WIFE.
Spoilers for season 6 and the rest of season 7, but the new Endeavor actually kind of sucks too ngl.
@@You-Tube-n5k I have already kind of watched season 7, by the new endeavor, I mean the endeavor after this war
@@You-Tube-n5knew endeavour is great, what do you mean?
@@MHolmes-q3w Pretty much yeah.
@@captainpep3 Season 6 is where I started to doubt him, and season 7 is when I lost all faith in him as a character with an atonement arc. It's some of the sloppiest stuff I've ever seen in this series ngl.
You guys should try jobless reincarnated
Can yall start reacting to sports anime? Aoashi, Haikyuu or Kuroko s Basketball would be great😊
Hot take hawks had the worse childhood
Instead of being the unteenth person on this vid to mention how satisfying Rei standing before Enji as the Todoroki matriarch is, Imma make a possible hot (or , I guess cold) take:
Todoroki's mom is better than Bakugo's mom, both in character and design.
Nah bakugo's mom is way hotter bro
Not sure tho but shoto and toya mother she nice too❤
We do see more of Rei so that makes sense
I actually like the both of them, I really don't understand on how someone can abuse such a nice woman. Endeavour is lucky to have Rei as his wife.
@@MHolmes-q3w he got the money bro
Day 21 of asking you guys to watch Re:zero
Can you react to re zero
Hawks backstory obliterates any chance of the villians getting any sympathy to me. He endured an arguably worse childhood and still chose virtue at a young age. He had the easiest path to villiany outside of Shigaraki and still chose a better way.
A hero saved Hawks when he needed it most. None of the League had that luxury.
They weren't helped but they still chose the path they took so I agree with you on some level.
the clear difference here is that hawks got help and the villains didn’t … hello ???
