I was about to comment the same thing, the 501st tends to lean closer to purple hues and most people make it almost NERF Blue so to see this was absolutely breathtaking and fantastic.
Actually, if you watch The Clone Wars movie, the armor isn't really matte. It's more of a semigloss to gloss. It likely varies on the weathering and condition of the individual armor of just how glossy or matte each clone's armor is.
Quick question, do you have a list of the tools you use somewhere so someone like me starting out in model kit building can find out what we need to purchase that are less obvious?

There's tool sets online that have most of the things you need for models. Nippers, xacto knife, filers, most of the tools you'll need
