    I'm going to preface this comment by saying that I've been installing screen protectors on my devices since at least 2004, when I got my first Playstation PSP. I've installed a lot of screen protectors on my various devices ever since then (e.g., iPhones, iPads, PSP, Vita, DS, 3DS, etc). I'm not a professional, but I've become pretty experienced doing this!
    With that disclaimer out of the way, I can say that the video helped, and I had a flawless install on my Nintendo Switch.
    To help others that may have had issues, I'd like to offer some suggestions:
    Firstly, try to work in a clean and well lit environment, and make sure to clean your work area, too. Get all the installation items setup and ready to use. You want to work pretty quickly, so having everything ready is very helpful.
    Secondly, wash your hands thoroughly! You want to remove the oils from your hands.
    Thirdly, I'm old enough to need reading glasses, and when working on these installations, the extra magnification helps! Use the wet cleaning pad to clean the Switch screen, and then use the dry cleaning cloth to dry the screen. By wearing my reading glasses, I'm able to see the screen very closely. MAKE SURE TO REMOVE EVERY SPECK OF DUST AND FINGERPRINTS FROM THE SCREEN!! If you don't you WILL have bubbles!
    Lastly, carefully remove the ONE piece of plastic film, per the directions (it's the side that will adhere to the screen). HOLD THE EDGES OF THE SCREEN PROTECTOR! IF YOU TOUCH THE PART THAT ADHERES TO THE SCREEN, YOU WILL LEAVE YOUR FINGERPRINT ON THE BOTTOM OF THE PROTECTOR, AND IT WILL ANNOY YOU TO NO END! Now, while holding the edges of the protector (and/or the tabs on the top plastic film), carefully align the bottom edge of the protector to the Switch screen (it's where the cutouts are for the sensors). Once you align the bottom AND the left & right edges, SLOWLY let the protector drop/slide into place (from bottom to top). The rest of the protector should line up perfectly, and then work out any air bubbles along the side using the card/squeegee that was provided. Remove the final piece of film, and hopefully everything will be perfect.
    I hope this helps someone out there. Good luck!!

      Definitely good tips but one I'd like to add is don't buy this brand. This brand uses a thinner tempered glass protector, and because of that it's harder to apply, doesn't look as nice, and much more finger print prone than other brands like Supershieldz.
      I'm glad both of mine had bubbles because it led me to buying a MUCH better brand of tempered glass. Superguardz seems like the same brand too. Same tempered glass style. I got one of those for my old phone and it's great too.

      first time I did it I was working in a badly lit room, but my issue really came from not cleaning the screen enough, so there was a bit of dirt in the middle of the screen. I actually managed to lift up the protector to try and fix it, but because it was right in the middle it proved hard to clean, so I just put my second one on and did it flawless the second time. making sure there is nothing on the screen is key.

      It’s funny how yours was flawless even though I know how to put a screen protector on my switch there’s always one spec of dust on the screen protector as I’m readying it it’s a con I swear it is

    • @HugoStiglitz88

      Which is exactly why I don't like this AmFilm brand. I went through a few of them and never got rid of the bubbles.
      Got a supershieldz brand one, and on the first tap of the screen, it applied itself to the entire screen with zero bubbles whatsoever. And it looks so much nicer, and it's less fingerprint prone.

    I installed mine yesterday after watching this video a couple of times and I'd say I'm 95% happy with it. A few bits of dust managed to get trapped under the protector which is visible when the screen is completely dark but less so when there's something actually on the screen. It only took about 10 minutes to install it and there's zero bubbles. You have to take care when installing it but it's not too tricky. I'd recommend the product for anyone considering it.

    I was terrified, I’ve had horrible experiences with screen protectors. Idk if I just got lucky or what but this went surprisingly smooth. I got one little spec of dust in there but otherwise it’s perfect. Didn’t have any problems with air bubbles, it seemed to settle all on its own. Just did a little pressing along the edges. Definitely going to buy these for other electronics in the future.

    Very Pleased with mine. Install in bathroom after running a hot shower for a couple of minutes. Wash your hands before applying as well. Also, you can't lift up the screen protector without getting a disgusting air bubble permanently on the corner you try to lift, so what I did is I used the hinge stickers as a hinge (pretty much what they're intended for) to swing the screen protector on. Just make sure to push the air bubbles out as your swing it down. Mine came out with 0 dust and my boyfriend's only has 1 spec. it's a pretty great product.

    This is an excellent product. First screen protector I've ever applied that came out PERFECT. Just be very careful when placing it down, make sure it's lined up perfectly before anything sticks to the screen. It only took me like 5 seconds to remove 100% of the air bubbles. It looks so good you can't even tell there's a protector there!
    They even provided a second protector and wipe in case the first messed up, and the lifetime warranty is great, but I won't be using it. I'd like to support this company again. Lifetime fan from me! Thanks for a great product

They also sent me an e-mail, something that I've never received from any other company, telling me to contact them if there are any other issues and provided a link with this video in it. Another friend of mine had a problem and they sent him a new one. 100% worth buying from them. Also their product is actually better than many other alternatives. If you want to buy it do so with no worry.

      I did so with no worries mainly because Ive watched a lot of accessory videos over the past year and a half, and this brand seemed to pop up most... I got my Switch 2 weeks ago and have also been waiting for a $150 gift debit card, and as soon as I got it yestsrday immediately ordered this protector, metal joy con locks to replace the plastic ones since I don't have a warranty, and the small carrying case for the Switch and cords and games, as well as MK8D and Minecraft :). Ugh I can't wait to receive all this stuff lol, I love protecting my electronics, idk why it's just nice.

    I had a hard time installing these screen protectors. Both corners broke on the two screen protectors. The first one, I tried lifting it up to get rid of air bubbles, the second fell on the floor. Both my fault unfortunately =/
    I wish I had seen this video before trying.

  • @DreadedDormammu
    @DreadedDormammu 7 ปีที่แล้ว +4

    Far more difficult than the video makes it appear. On the first attempt, I couldn't get the bubbles out and damaged the corner of the protector trying to remove it to reapply. On the second, the top layer of film came loose as I was trying to position the protector. I tossed it out. May be great as a protector, but at least in my experience it wasn't easy to apply.

  • @HugoStiglitz88
    @HugoStiglitz88 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I got this brand tempered glass first because it's the most popular, big mistake. It fuckin sucks compared to most other tempered glass I've got for phones and the vita. I ordered the Supershieldz one for Switch after this AmFilm crap failed me and was blown away by how much better it looks, how much easier it is to apply, and how much less finger print prone it is too.
    Seriously, this brand may be the most popular on amazon, but avoid it. It sucks balls. I had 2 of them in a row have permanent bubbles, which usually never happens with tempered glass. The supershieldz one though, I tapped one corner, and it then stuck to the rest of the screen on its own, with zero fucking bubbles or imperfections whatsoever. And it looks much better

      The fact they include 2 and I've read many comments of careless people messing up the first and using the 2nd, so I'd assume that means there's been no problems with the protectors.

      the resolution is either limited by the software, which can be several hundred dollar licenses, or free- with lots of learning required, or their cameras were stuff they had lying around. as they're trying to save some money themselves. many companies need to cut corners to save a dollar or two.
