Snape isn’t teaching from the book, he puts the recipe on the board. And when slughorn is teaching they have to do it from book. And because Harry’s is from Snape, but Snape isn’t around he is better then other people.
Theory: During the first 5 year Snape would write the potion instructions on the blackboard, and possibly his own changes from the text books, thus people were able to brew potions somewhat correctly. Then in year six with Slughorn, when they had to use the textbook, only Harry was able to brew it correctly because he had Snapes annotations

@@nickibarclay9236 Its just basically liquid sugar, so there are probably variants all over the world. Honey, golden syrup, black treacle, molasses and real maple syrup, probably could all be used, although they would each have a different flavour.

I would love to see a Harry Potter-quiz about characters names in other languages. In finnish some names are amazing and it would be so interesting to see what you would try to gues when asked some of the names. That quiz could be made by fans all over the world
as someone who read the books in french I would agree, not only about the names of the characters but also potions, houses, spells and even Hogwarts itself, they changed a lot of stuff in french

I have been watching a lot of J vs Ben writing papers recently. And you guys mention how hard softballs are consistently. And as a competitive softball player I really appreciate this haha
I love this little rivalry about the length of the "Hey Brother", and Tyler should have a part in it. He should have a medium length, and is the one stopping them from breaking out into a boxing match
In the first part of DH, when they’re staying at Grimmauld Place, Kreacher asks Harry if he wants Treacle Tart “for which he is most partial to”, or something along those lines. It’s also the first dessert he tries at the sorting ceremony/feast in PS. It’s also mentioned many times throughout the book randomly, where he’s eating it at dessert, or else not eating it because he’s upset or anxious (because it’s his favorite so you know he’s REALLY feeling upset lol).

Literally as soon as Slughorn took over potions everyone was messing up besides Harry and this was a class of students that landed an E's and O's in their potions OWLS. Hermione was openly annoyed all year that Harry had this advantage
They all had an exceptional teacher up to that point. Harry continued to have an exceptional teacher. Also it shouldn't be forgotten that Harry also probably suffered from Snape's bullying in his class. Maybe Harry would've been better the whole time if Snape didn't hate him.

Ahsoka and Rex are the best part of Anakin-it shows what he was before he turned. And I dunno I feel like THE Anakin would be Hufflepuff. Or Gryffindor. As Darth Vader, his loyalty to Palpatine was twisted into decades of obedient service, but in the end, his loyalty to his son won out, leading to his final redemption. Again, HIS DEFINING TRAIT even as VADER is loyalty. Hufflepuff.
Interesting thing. Snape never tells his potion class to open there books, the instructions are always on the chalk board. So he might be giving them his own revised instructions, and that could be why people are not doing as good in Slughorns class, and why Harry is doing so well.

Arsenius also sounds like a combination of Ahrenius who was an accomplished chemist and arsenic, a poisonous element. With the 2 references to real chemistry I figured that had to be the potions author.

yes! I've been rewatching old J vs Ben videos all week, and now I get a new one! best thing that happened today
Snape was a good teacher tho, and there is proof. In the first 5 books/films, we never once see him tell the students to open a textbook. He always writes them on the board. In book/film 6, they use textbooks, and we saw snapes one full of improved recipes. Hermione didnt struggle at all through the first 5, reading snapes writing on the board, but doesnt in book 6, where harry is doing good, because he has snapes book. This shows that Snape shared his improvements with the classes and taught them better ways, which made him a good teacher in that aspect
They use that christmas chapter from Order so much cause it wasn’t in the movie.
He called it the “draught of the living dead” in the movie. The line was something like
“If I added (these things) I would get a sleeping potion so powerful it is called the (ya know)”

No they are not, boils are much more deeply rooted infections and often come after animal Sting's or poisonous bites. Certain diseases like Bubonic plague also cause boils.

Hey so I realize this is an old video but I’m new to you guys and have been watching all the quiz videos. When you guys talk about how Snape should be teaching the students his way I personally think he actually is. If you notice when Snape is teaching potions he never has them open the book he always puts the instructions on the board. When Slughorn takes over Harry is the only one still following Snape instructions therefore he excels while Hermoine is pretty average.
