I just happened to read the chapter on the CoS where they mentioned Percy was acting weird and didn't gloat at all about this 12 OWLs and I very much agree with Ben's interpretation. That was their example of how really weird was Percy's behavior, cause they expected he wouldn't shut up about that, but he was being unusually quiet lately.

The bat bogey hex: I suppose it makes more sense if you've ever heard the phrase " Do I have any bats in the cave?" meaning boogers in the nose., usually said before a picture is taken.
Yeah JK Rowling said that it's a hex that causes you to have a mass amount of boogers and a super runny nose. So basically it's like turning your nose into a snot faucet. So both gross and inconvenient and requiring an immediate fix.
the problem with Mrs Weasley's clock is that the first time it is mentioned in Chamber of Secrets, specifically in Chapter 3 thereof, it is described differently: "The clock on the wall opposite him [Harry] had only one hand and no numbers at all. Written around the edge were things like ‘Time to make tea’, ‘Time to feed the chickens’ and ‘You’re late’." The next time the clock is mentioned, in Chapter 10 of Goblet of Fire, it is described as such: "Mrs Weasley glanced at the grandfather clock in the corner. Harry liked this clock. It was completely useless if you wanted to know the time, but otherwise very informative. It had nine golden hands, and each of them was engraved with one of the Weasley family’s names. There were no numerals around the face, but descriptions of where each family member might be. ‘Home’, ‘school’ and ‘work’ were there, but there was also ‘lost’, ‘hospital’, ‘prison’ and, in the position where the number twelve would be on a normal clock, ‘mortal peril’." From there on, JK Rowling stuck with this 2nd version, making this the more prominent one. It is even possible that there are two clocks, but neither the 1st one is ever mentioned again, nor is the 2nd one mentioned ever before Goblet. Besides, the first one is described as "on the wall opposite him" (i depict a clock hanging on the wall), the second one is "a grandfather clock in the corner", as shown in the quote above. Harry even seems to know the 2nd version by returning to the Burrow in Goblet, and like it. However it is, the question is still ambiguous: Even if there are two clocks, they are both described in the books. I would sneakily answer: "Trick question. The one handed clock was never described in enough detail." - and that would be a valid answer.

It’s so sad that one of the times they were apart was the last time they would be apart and it will last for eternity until George joins him in heaven 😢😢😢
The reason why it’s written as “Fred and George” likely has less to do with Fred being more prominent and more to do with the fact that, in English, we tend to put the shorter word first when using conjunctions. (ie. Ladies and gentlemen, etc..) But I do agree that Fred felt as though he came up more often.
I always imagined the Bat Boogey Hex, as boogers ripping themselves out of the cast upon's nose, very painful, turning into bats in their nose, then flying around slapping them in the face.

I always read it as he was being serious that Percy wasn't acting like himself because he didnt gloat nearly enough! Also definitely Fred was the more dominant twin, and it was Fred who died. Imagine George trying to carry on suddenly without that dominating part of his life 😭
@@Scholarfreak77 nah that was in the first book in relation to him being a prefect, not his exam results! That's why it was unusual in the second book for him not to have gone on about it all summer!

It’s so sad that one of the times they were apart was the last time they would be apart and it will last for eternity until George joins him in heaven 😢😢😢
I only disliked your comment because it makes me too sad
The reason why it’s written as “Fred and George” likely has less to do with Fred being more prominent and more to do with the fact that, in English, we tend to put the shorter word first when using conjunctions. (ie. Ladies and gentlemen, etc..) But I do agree that Fred felt as though he came up more often.
Phineas and Ferb is clearly superior lol
also we usually put the letter that comes first first. So d comes before g so fred comes before george.
Like "Boys and Girls"
@@sylvy16interesting, but in "J vs Ben" they chose the short word first, and not the alfabetical order ;)
I always imagined the Bat Boogey Hex, as boogers ripping themselves out of the cast upon's nose, very painful, turning into bats in their nose, then flying around slapping them in the face.
Terrifying
I had no idea Percy was supposed to be the red herring
Right? He was up to something shifty, but it obviously wasn't the chamber. I figured he was just being a teenager, not wanting to associate with his younger siblings.
Why getting though
same
Same. I always thought he was just distancing himself from his siblings but still watching over them (at least watching over ginny).
Never assumed he had anything to do with the chamber.
me too bc they didn't do it in the movies and i watched those before i read the book so when i did i already knew who it was
i really wish i read the books first tho
I always read it as he was being serious that Percy wasn't acting like himself because he didnt gloat nearly enough!
Also definitely Fred was the more dominant twin, and it was Fred who died. Imagine George trying to carry on suddenly without that dominating part of his life 😭
Hold on, I think he mentioned it... once or twice, a minute, all summer... to me it was sarcasm and he talked about it a lot
@@Scholarfreak77 nah that was in the first book in relation to him being a prefect, not his exam results! That's why it was unusual in the second book for him not to have gone on about it all summer!
“Wish I knew what he was up to,” said Fred, frowning. “He’s not
himself. His exam results came the day before you did; twelve O.W.L.s
and he hardly gloated at all.”
Im pretty sure its sincere
I actually really like the part in CoS where Percy is reading "Prefects Who Gained Power"... It's just sort of ironic, because Percy could totally have been reading about Tom Riddle, but Harry and Ron assume the book is boring.
The Janus Thickey Ward is for permanent spell damage, Neville's parents and Lockhart are patients there.
I love how Tyler introduces the quiz master questions. I wish he did the query bit for every question(probably didn't because of the effort to do that voice but I really loved that
we need a compilation of Ben asking "do you know this?"
Coming soon

163rd comment: Love these, right up there with the harry potter theories, also, did anyone else notice on question 2, it already said Ben had 2, then it poofed around Ben's number and added it to J's counter? 2:06
Yep, and Q1 is labled Q5
I'm starting to wonder if these spoofs are on purpose because the question numbers are aaaalways off
Yes
Yes I did. Confused.
yep
On my quest to find J’s 1 fan I have come across a discovery! There are many people claiming to be it but the truth is it was.......
Doogle Mggreggor all along
Ashley elenor Good actually it’s gregor mcdoogle
I don’t know if the red herrings of Percy being the heir of slytherin was done really badly but I literally just realised he was meant to be a read herring 😂😂😂 looking back it’s obvious, he pops up in random places and is shifty but the idea of him being the villain never crossed my mind once
I find it hilarious that Hermes is the owls name, cause in Greek Mythology the messanger of the gods is Hermes and owls are the messagers of the Potterverse
Definitely thought Fred and George were serious about Percy not bragging on his OWL results
3:03 YES OUR FAMILY WATCHED THAT ALL THE TIME!!!
I agree with Ben’s interpretation of the 12 OWLs Percy got and his lack of gloating.
I agree, Ben was right!
"This has gotta be pretentious
- It is not Pretentious, it is a different name"
Killed me
0:59 *already says question 5...*
At this point I think they're just messing with us, guys.
The first question is number 5, the second point went to Ben instead of J... what was going on in the editing booth guys? Everything good?
and the question for number five showed up when they gave there answers and not when they were asked the question. editing was super sloppy today
Heh, I made the same comment, but yours is better worded.
Johny Shadow thanks 😂 I’m glad for the support
Don’t throw so much shade on them for them messing up on like two things.
Yeah and because of that I’m pretty sure J should have got 26 in the ends
Love the brotherly banter in this episode, had me smiling the whole time hahaha
"Thank you Weatherby"
I loved the wholesome brotherly love vibes of this video.
Just a note: when Jonathan mentions arithmancy he calls it “arithmacy” which is a real subject as opposed to arithmancy which is in the wizarding world
Goddard is a reference to one of the fathers of modern rocketry.
no one:
1st question: question 5
I saw that 😂
Wanted to point that out too
I was so confused
Who else is excited for tomorrow’s live stream!!
I can't wait

20:10 I imagined it like Ben's drawing!
Percy middle name was mentioned at Harry's hearing
LOVE YOUR CHANNEL, I FEEL SO MUCH MORE CONNECTED TO SCB COMMUNITY SINCE LOCKDOWN 💛 CAN'T WAIT FOR TOMORROW'S STREAM
Love how question 1 is question 5
I noticed that right away.
And on question 2 j got the point but it went up on ben’s counter lol
and how on the second question j gets the point first but Ben's counter goes one up before haha
It was great, i did a double take
?
Is the livestream going to keep going after "Dumbledore's Grand Plan" is over? I really look forward to the livestreams every week and would hate to see them go so early. It's the only thing that makes my Friday evening shifts bearable.
I kinda see them lasting during quarantine.
It may be J vs Ben, but we all know Ben is the one true host.
Here's the funny part, I feel like I watch more J videos, but with the quizzes I am team Ben. I think its because I don't do so well on them either. Lol.
I love the videos with Tyler. The sibling energy is turned up to 11 😆
You should do the SuperCarlinBrothers Quiz.
What you do is you each create a quiz about yourselves and see who gets more points.
That's so coooooool
Ben makes a remark about australians...
me being patriotic: *makes fist*
Same, Aussies never seem to get mentioned in American videos, unless they're talking about drop bears or how we ride kangaroos to school. XD

@JustSomeGuyOnTheNet Yeah nah, for sure!
1:00, yes that’s definitely question 1 and the question asked out loud lol
Biggest thing I've learned is, I really need to read them books. You guys are great fun to watch.
The idea of reading a series chapter by chapter and having theories of how the books going to go is such a cool idea, doing it with like the percy jackson series or something would be really interesting 🌼
Since 1/2 of the Percy Jackson chapters are cliff hangers, it would be interesting
3:38 I always pictured it to mean bats flying out of the persons nose anyone else
My theory is that Lavender Brown is still alive because the “My Sweetheart” necklace she gave Ron was a horcrux
She killed a man for her crush. ... Plausible.
Well she is crazy so it’s not entirely implausible
@@winnie7922 XD Sweet but psycho.
what a hilariously evil suggestion
I forgot that she is dead, she got ate by a warewolf didn’t she? Well it would have been interesting for her to become one
Is it just me or does the editing seem a little off
Just commented on that too. Lots of tiny mistakes
yeah its super sloppy. maybe a new editor
every time
Ya for one or two the screen with the question came up when they were flipping their boards/giving their answers
@@noahmeserve9165 maybe there was a mistake that ruined the whole thing and the editor had to fix it with not much time.. It didn't really bother me much.. even the score om the 2md question was off so maybe the extra layers were mixed
The sibling moment at 6:42 is so relatable lol
As a Brit the twins saying Percy hardly gloated about his owls was definitely sarcasm. It's just how we roll.
It wasn't. It was not sarcasm in that specific incident.
I got the notification while watching Harry Potter😂
