@@bigfishlad4847 H. Nicaraguenses f1, A.Myrnae f1, N.Nematopus f2, C. cutteri, C.Altifrons f1, H. Multispinosa, A. Stalsbergi , buzzings an understatement lol think I’ve been more excited for these than my other fish 😊
I have kept these guys and spawned them for several years. Your obvious male was the big one at the bottom with the dark stripe. he even has the characteristic dorsal hook already. they’re great little fish
Nice fish I had some a few years ago a pet shop near me gave me them .i got them and some big Severums I had to get them out of the tank myself because the women who worked at the pet shop were scared of the big severums .somebody brought them in so I got them all free I was well chuffed cheers mate
@@bigfishlad4847 no i don’t have them any more I think I had them about a year or so then traded them in at my local garden centre..I have just got my 200 litre tank running now I might get some angels or something this weekend see what there is.i like big cichlids but I need a big tank first cheers
I live in Honduras and saw this guy at the flea market selling them, so I wonder if they're wild-caught? This happened far away from the river they're endemic from, though, so I'm not too sure. They look really nice and I wish I could get a couple but my biggest tank is 20 G and has a betta and seven livebearers already so I don't think it's a good idea. The fish the guy sold looked way too big for that tank size, around 15-ish cm.
super cool cichlid

i have had them pair off but there in with other fish like polar blues , severums and tinfoil barbs no eggs have never hatched
@@leeandmandybattersby5958 Do they go OK with the polar blues? I was looking to add one of these to my tank that has a couple of polar blues.
mine are still in with the polar blues and i havent had any problems but there are alot of hiding places and its a 100 gallon tank

Looking good Paul, they will start breeding in no time. The male will spawn with more than one female a few days apart - my male has 4 on the go.....
