warning to everyone thinking about the Basically Vanilla server. I have played on this server for a long time and there are some issues I need to make known. 1: There are multiple clans with 15-20 players each that will absolutely dominate and are not punished for breaking rules. 2: The in-game moderators are allowed to play as normal, and you guessed it, each of these clans has a server moderator in them. This leads to a lot of bias, and frankly the administration on this server is terrible and nothing is consistent. (They have 17 year old kids for moderators who will insult you for no reason and then kick you from the server if you respond)
a great server i would reccomend is The Struggle Bus. they host a chernarus, livonia, and namalsk map, all maintaining a decent population throughout the wipe. they have great active admins, and no mods other than a couple admin tools. you can build anywhere you want to other then pavlovo and rify permanant gas zones, and its honestly a lot of fun

I rarely recommend servers, but recently one server that stood out for me is Borealis. The owner 3rno has been quite promising in the past with his successful StalkerZ server. Currently Borealis is the only server that has a Hero/Bandit reputation system. Their custom base building is really unique and the traders sell items that are being sold by players. Overall the server has a very good balance system and some really unique own developed items. The gun system is really unique and by the looks of the future developments it's very promising. You can also customize your own vehicle and there's so much more. I am not affiliated with that server in anyway, but apart from the great servers you've mentioned in this video, I'd say check it out!

Honestly.. I just want a server that gives me that experience as close to DayZ Mod Vanilla+Epoch as much as possible. I really miss the days of struggling to get a gun or finding a little bird or Mi-17, but cars aren’t too tough to find, and once you spend half a day getting things together you can make a small little base by putting a locked door in front of certain houses in the world, which allows you to put down a lockbox or safe. But searching for tents out in the wilderness with a Huey helicopter was also a lot of fun in vanilla in dayz mod too. Nobody wants those servers tho so they’re impossible to find in dayz SA. I miss 2012 and 2013 dayz mod. Days we will never get back.

I worked on a dayz mod recreation server a few years ago, you can find video from AnarchyHD but it flopped hard. Nobody these days wants an oldschool experience they want PVP deathmatch rust pubg style or just regular vanilla. Its strange but what standalone has become...
ig most know them anyway, but incase anybody doesnt... i can only recommend all the KarmaKrew Servers... really active and friendly admins, 1PP, some minor changes to the maps, a few mods that mostly improve quality of live and variety in weapons / clothing etc and just overall a really cool expirience :)
if you’re looking for a fun and casual deathmatch server besides v++, crimson zamboni servers are nice as they have different themes round by round (i think they last 15 mins): medieval with just crossbows and swords cowboy with repeaters and revolvers freshie rounds with pistols and melee so on and so forth
WESTWORLD is a great server that is run always on the highest grade hardware available from the hosting company. Mods are mainly to enhance the PVE experience including wildlife and weather but has PVP zones for those that want the adrenalin hit. WESTWORLD only wiped when a technical reason demands it so time invested building your world is not wasted. Friendly community and active admins.
I'm new to DayZ, sort of. I was playing on a laid back server called Causal EU but it shut down. It was PVE, but if you wanted you could engage in PVP, but most people left you alone unless you had to fight. It was modded, but only with upgrades that helped such as more zombies to make the game more fun, the we.ed upgrade, guns, clothes, common stuff you see in most servers. Bases could be raided, but most people didn't. Would love to find a beginner friendly server
I play on a server called The Saviors. They have a few servers but i play vanilla cherno more loot. Chill server, active members, no spoofs, and more loot. Im a casual player and its good. Also gives good pings for eu players(they are based in and around germany i think)
I highly recommend The Plague RP server. I have been playing there for eight or so months now. Supportive and creative admins and the player community is awesome both in and out of character.

EndZone Chernarus and Deer Isle are both good. They are very lightly modded, and could both use some more players. The admins are professional and care about the servers. The Chernarus server just had an overhaul to add a few interesting new things. The Deer Isle server is vanilla+ I would say. Nothing crazy. Just Better Base Building and a few added guns. Chernarus just added the ability to group with you friends and a few AI missions that award money that lets you use an NPC vendor to trade certain items between other players. EndZone used to be more close to vanilla, but they are are trying a few new things to bring the numbers up. Give them a try.
I personally can’t stand RP servers, there’s always a handful of people who are in bed with the admins, and the rules somehow don’t apply to them. Maybe there are some where that isn’t the case, but in my experience that is how I end up quitting many RP servers.

I myself had recently had to contact mods for help, and the guy was very friendly and helpful and had no problem replacing the bugged item. We live on the coast and have met some lovely friendly people. One of our group wants to open a hospital and we have had so many donations from people, that includes a car. Which we were given on day 1.

If you want a pve server with an awesome community I suggest LivingWithInsanity we have deer isle map increased zombie count and vanilla item spawn rates
been playing the calm deathmatch for a while it’s very solid but if you get tired of the map for example novo it’ll be a couple weeks before it gets changed to something else say zeleno or severograd for example
A warning for a server ⚠️ Panacea is unfortunately a pay to win server. While they do hold very good content and can be very fun if you find a good group, the admins are new due to the more experienced ones leaving due to poor treatment from both players and the owner. And the players are unfortunately in most cases cheaters who are capable of paying to avoid bans. There’s many other good ones out there, Good luck survivor!
How do you "win" at DayZ???? That's one of the certral features of the game. You don't "win". You never "win". There is no "win" in the game. You survive as long as you can, then you go back to the start, and do it all again. But you don't win. 🤔
Do you know any servers that are vanilla without base building for pvp? I played when the game first came out and the tense pvp experience has just died because everyone is either hiding or has stacks of gear in their bases. The whole reason the game grew popular was nothing to do with bases it was because no game could match the tension when you were in a fight after looting for 3 hours. That tension is completely gone if people have bases and know they'll get gear back within 5 minutes. Bases have absolutely killed this game.

Organic RP literally means limiting rules to allow for organic roleplay and it entails most definitely doing away with any type of rule of initiation because, while people are encouraged to roleplay, organic rp is all about allowing people to kill you whenever they want, how they want, IF they want.

I don't recommend Sandstorm, I just tried it for the first time and was on for maybe 4 hours and didn't run into anybody until I tried to go to the black market and somebody was just camping there and blasted me as soon as I walked in. 4 hours of nobody not even gunshots in the distance the entire time I'm playing and I get killed by some random guy camping the black market. That's not fun at all. I don't care that I died but the way I died after such a long run is just stupid and that first impression was so aggravating I don't think I'm going back.
Great video, though i couldn't find the experience im really searching for. Maybe someone can help me out. Im looking for a really atmospheric dystopian server when it comes to weather and stuff. Most of the time i find servers that have 90% sunshine and i dont feel that vibe especially roaming solo. If it's a low-mid pop server it would be even better to have "some" special encounters and keeping the stakes high. I like to have an adventure nowadays and not run from one military zone to the next in search for the best guns and PVP. Someone mentioned WESTWORLD in the comments, gonna check that out for now
Ive got 850 hours on dayz console so i know the basics but I want to get into pc. how do I access these servers? just through the main game like on the console or do I need a separate launcher like Nitrado or something.
In this video, in the description, there is a server guide for PC. It's old but still relevant. Go to around 7 minutes in, I think it has time stamps, and I do a live demonstration on how to join/load modded servers. And I use the standard launcher that comes with DayZ. People recommend others but they're just not needed.
Ok, I am new to DayZ and I play as a passive player, I only look for loot and avoid as much contact as possible but will kill infected if needed to get loot. Would the RP server be best for me?
ive been looking for servers that think outside the survival box, with a two tribes kind of set up, where you get recruited to one of them, or where you have to make it trough a PVP part of the map, to reach a PVE zone, any1 knows such a server?

A watch out is... If you can donate, You can donate to break the server rules... They look past people who pay on the server. Played a few hundred over the years. Hard to find a decent server. Have to look out for admins playing the game with their tools on... or droppin' their buddies shit that they spawn in.
I just want vanilla with no base raiding and perhaps even PvP only zones or PVE only zones if that makes sense. Something where I’m able to put up a flag at my base and people respect the base and aren’t allowed to camp it or raid it
I stick to the ( annoying) official vanilla servers. Other servers tend to add too much bs. Oh, and that Zero server Chiemsee is pronounced keem-zay. It's a large vacation lake area in southern Germany, southeast of Munich.

I've quit official and vanilla servers after about 30 hours of ingame experience, shifted to a hardcore server intenz.
I'm quite addicted to British Survivors Roleplay at the moment. It's a No KOS server and has a great discord community.

Type "no base" into the server search bar - there are quite a few but you would have to dig down further to find a vanilla one.
I look these severs up on filters and none of them come up am I doing something wrong? I’d like to try the calm death match

I don't recommend Sandstorm, I just tried it for the first time and was on for maybe 4 hours and didn't run into anybody until I tried to go to the black market and somebody was just camping there and blasted me as soon as I walked in. 4 hours of nobody not even gunshots in the distance the entire time I'm playing and I get killed by some random guy camping the black market. That's not fun at all. I don't care that I died but the way I died after such a long run is just stupid and that first impression was so aggravating I don't think I'm going back.

Humanity 2.0 is a good hardcore survival server, full PVP but with a lot of custom missions and content

do you need a launcher to get these servers? or are the all on the community server tab in standalone?

Great video, though i couldn't find the experience im really searching for. Maybe someone can help me out. Im looking for a really atmospheric dystopian server when it comes to weather and stuff. Most of the time i find servers that have 90% sunshine and i dont feel that vibe especially roaming solo. If it's a low-mid pop server it would be even better to have "some" special encounters and keeping the stakes high. I like to have an adventure nowadays and not run from one military zone to the next in search for the best guns and PVP. Someone mentioned WESTWORLD in the comments, gonna check that out for now

Ive got 850 hours on dayz console so i know the basics but I want to get into pc. how do I access these servers? just through the main game like on the console or do I need a separate launcher like Nitrado or something.
In this video, in the description, there is a server guide for PC. It's old but still relevant. Go to around 7 minutes in, I think it has time stamps, and I do a live demonstration on how to join/load modded servers.
And I use the standard launcher that comes with DayZ. People recommend others but they're just not needed.

Ok, I am new to DayZ and I play as a passive player, I only look for loot and avoid as much contact as possible but will kill infected if needed to get loot. Would the RP server be best for me?

Dayz is one of the best games out there such a shame its nearly impossible to find a good server and stay on it in 5 months of dayz haven't been on a server longer then 2 weeks

I must say about Imperium CZ server. Best for Dayz Epoch experience. Includes heli, traders, timing events and other. In my opinion good economy and balance.

A watch out is... If you can donate, You can donate to break the server rules... They look past people who pay on the server. Played a few hundred over the years. Hard to find a decent server. Have to look out for admins playing the game with their tools on... or droppin' their buddies shit that they spawn in.
I just want vanilla with no base raiding and perhaps even PvP only zones or PVE only zones if that makes sense. Something where I’m able to put up a flag at my base and people respect the base and aren’t allowed to camp it or raid it

Best server for that is Sunnyvale in my opinion. I’ve been playing it for 3 months or so, and it’s awesome.

I stick to the ( annoying) official vanilla servers. Other servers tend to add too much bs. Oh, and that Zero server Chiemsee is pronounced keem-zay. It's a large vacation lake area in southern Germany, southeast of Munich.
That's how I always pronounced it, but I kept running into people saying different things. So I just thought it would be easier to not pronounce it xD
