I liked this one! Even though I didn't expect that I would. There's an older film called "The Core" that's pretty much the same idea except that in that one they have to restart the rotation of the core (don't recall what stopped it). Basically the two films were the same except for the details but this is the better of the two.

I lasted an hour but it got too ridiculous.and when the mole was drilling through solid rock it did not look like there was much rubble. It looked like it was gong through a pre drilled tunnel.
What happens with the dirt and rocks that they drilled out it has to go somewhere
I thought the Mole would sound like some V12 monster when it started but it actually sounded like a bloody forklift!!!

Surely, a moviemaker would ensure that the script had characters that the viewers could sympathise with, even care about. And why do the viewers even think that the bad old USA would succeed, when they can't even provide health care, and drinking water, to the entire population.
Good movie but why doesn't Luke sweat
Their "Spartan Supercomputer" ain't so super no more. The computer sitting on my desk that I had built to my specs a few years back is hotter than their's and had it been built today it would be even more powerful, but it still wouldn't be a supercomputer. "Supercomputers" are mainframes and always have been. Their computing speed is measured in petaflops per second and if you want to see one go to the caverns beneath Maryland. That's where the NSA has their's. You won't find one on my desk or anybody's office; that's just absurd. Or maybe go look at what CERN is running.
