2006 graphics are done on today's laptop. The acting was mostly good, the story was good, all the side stories kept you busy... a bit too busy but it filled time. Definitely worth the watch!

Watching that water being pulled back brings back a childhood memory.....we took our boat to Fire Island, NY every weekend. One such weekend, as we walked to the beach we saw the coastline had been pulled back ! You could literally walk OUT where there was Normally water but Not today !!! My Dad said ever so gently...." get the f back to the boat " !! We ran & got back on the boat & went home !! I never knew what That was until I learned about Tsunami's !! Was it ? I don't know But I never heard anything about it, but then again I was a small child !! I have NEVER FORGOTTEN THAT DAY !!!
It just breaks my heart to see all this devastation all around the world happening! God please be with us during our time of need! Protect and guide us through it and help us make sure nothing else happens that we can’t handle! Whenever I see Frank Langella I'm reminded of his appearance in the 70's "I Love New York" ad campaign. He was dressed as Dracula (his Broadway lead role} In the ad he states "I love New York, especially in the evening!" Then he puts his arms out to the side lifting his cape and turns around.

A few days ago I saw a movie on TH-cam where he played himself.
The only thing missing from this movie is the Yellowstone National Park caldera. If all the earthquakes and geologic catastrophes in this movie were real, the Yellowstone volcano would have erupted and blown the western United States to smithereens. It was a good movie though. The acting was good, the plot was plausible, and the special effects well done. All in all, I'd watch it again.
Not necessarily. It has so many areas that are constantly relieving pressure it isn't in as much danger as you might think.

Exciting movie, absolutely worth the watch. The pace it begins with, stays throughout. As someone else said, too much shakey cam, but that's literally my only complaint. Good actors and it keeps the tension going and drives the movie forward and keeps it interesting. Nice blend of science, lots of action and some drama, but they keep it to a comfortable minimum. Only what's necessary to the plot and get you to connect to and feel for the characters.
I just feel sorry for the actors. After all the B - CGI scenes they have to act like it really happened.
@@mr.2cents.846 Yeah, the effects were typically low grade. lol. I pretty much expect that from all B movies. When you do it right, you get Skylines and you mix practical effects with CGI, rather than bad CGI. Skylines did that, until they could do better CGI in the sequels. There was some great alien costumes in that flick and practical effects. Then by the third one Skylin3s, they were doing much better CGI.

Somewhere between the millions of screen cuts, the never ending and absurd camera shaking, the weird shadows flickering through the screen, and the close up face screen shots of every main actor now burned into my memory... I got a monster of a headache.
The movie was good though.

It's all fun and games until it becomes real; the problem with these movies is they make it look like another day in the park; you are talking about 95% of all living things dying, you will be starting from scratch, so it will take another 6 to 10,000 years to ever see the car again, that is you have anyone that remembers what a vehicle is - everything is built on the tech knowledge of the past, we did not just wake up someday and made the computer, or electricity, it took hundreds of year and thousands of other inventions before
The boat had plenty of time to turn into the title wave. Wish these movies were more realistic.

FYI, this 2-parter (10.5 Apocalypse 1&2) is actually a sequel to a 2004 two-parter simply titled 10.5, with the same cast.

If you guys think this was a great movie, you should see the first movie in this duo. It is called "10.5" and ends where "10.5 Apocalypse" starts. In it a huge chunk of the West Coast and Canada fall into the ocean. It came out in '04, this one in '06. It has many of the same actors\actresses and builds Kim's character a lot. I have not been able to find it one youtube or any streaming service, but it is a great one.
I'm so glad I read the comments first. I remember watching this year's ago and really enjoyed it so I started watching this one and thought I don't remember it starting with a huge earthquake 🤔

I watched both films years ago on DirecTV's DVR. Remembered it was pretty good but never saw them again, I've tried to find 10.5 a few times over the years and always failed, just tried again and found this, if only they have the first film too😗.
Can't find the first movie anywhere . i had it taped on a vcr tape but it isn't working.

I love a good disaster movie! The effects are so cool too.

My mother and I watched this movie series when it originally aired in 2006 and we both loved it and were blown away by the special effects. But the camera movements throughout the movie had us both nausiated.

Side note: 10.5 is a really great stand alone movie. Looking forward now to watching this one and part 2, which is really part 3.

So I suggest you go to the search 🔎 top right corner of TH-cam page, and type in 10.5 nothing else, just 10.5. on my search it was the second video down, the picture is a close up of two men in mining hats/lamps, leaning in toward the camera, and runs for 2hours 36 minutes or so. I hope you find it and enjoy. It’s really good, even better than the sequels.

Three minutes in, and you have a ship captain doesn't know to head into a tidal wave by turning into it. All he does is tell passengers to go below decks! Maybe because they couldn't get film showing a ship turning...?!
That's because he was an actor. Not a real captain.
Tidal waves are caused by the gravitational pull of the moon. Tsunamis are generated by earthquakes , tectonic plate shifts, etc…

Binging on free movies. Its Christmas weekend. Snowed n iced in from the blizzard going on. Powers out. No tv no cable. Its ok. I've A generator. We've got heat n able to warm stuff in the garage with Coleman stove with back of garage door cracked a bit for sAfety. Kicking back n not stressing about the holiday or the weather. Will just celebrate the holiday in a couple weeks with our loved ones. It will then also break up the cabin fever we get in January.
Takes away alot from the movie for me when they can't even get the Army uniforms right. Also any captain of a sea vessel would turn the bow into the wave. That will give a ship a fighting chance with even crazy huge waves

WoW 😲 are we ready for something like this or would this be the end of times??? This is hard to imagine but this film was made with some great imagination. It's amazing to see all this happening in front of our eyes. We probably could not comprehend this. We must realize that history takes a long time and we lose knowledge over a three to four year generation gap. Once we truly understand this generation gap then we can keep some of our history alive so that later people can understand what was happening. Let us pray that this does not happen but we are seeing things around the globe that are happening and have been predicted. Let this movie open up our thinking caps and our eyes as to what can happen when we treat Mother Earth badly because of greed and profits and not taking care mother nature. Amen 😇

Movies are fictional, make-believe, just for fun and some, unfortunately are made for propaganda purposes to scare you into giving money to politicians and other greedy people.
The earth is not alive, it does not have a grudge against the little humans who can never do much harm anyway.
Working and earning your keep is a good way to go, we all profit from being part of society if we are good and decent. Maybe you should not watch this kind of movie.

Bit of a miss step in the Sun Valley hit. Sun valley should be absolutely covers in a thick dust layer just like Pompai. In the film there isn't even a slight covering.
Just think, this movie was made a couple of years before the earthquake in Haiti. Then also before the earthquake and tidal wave in Japan.
