Good question. My goal is to have a tincture with 80 proof alcohol. After distillation there is almost no alcohol left so add the part to raise its alcohol level. It would vaporize while heating without distillation. Distillation can recycle the alcohol and it can be reused for new tincture making or adjusting tincture alcohol as I did in the video.

Why did you re-add the alcohol? Would it have just evaporated out if you hadn't collected it?

It was harvested in nature.
