I have a BMW 320i E90, replaced the timing chain and vanos solonoids. Now it is not starting because the valvetronic electric motor only runs to one side on its limit and the car sounds like it has no compression. Will this autel 908 p adapt the limits for the valve tronic motor again. Thanks
I've been using this tool for over 6 months now. It does Vag group modules as well. I've done a fair few updates on modules and it's not bricked anything yet... As always with these tools there's holes in the software with certain cars but for an aftermarket tool it's about the best one out there at the moment.
your correct mate I been doing alot of VAG with this mate and Mercedes with no issues but bmw is very temperamental with the autel but for me its no bother as I can simply redo it with the professional stuff if this fails it
@@weldingjunkie I was looking at the Zeus but 6k upfront is a little wild. The yearly updates are a lot cheaper than autel though. I’ve been using the MK808 for a 2-3 years now. Thinking about the MK906 but the $900 yearly update is extra wild lol

No mate there not MK908P has online access to all programming files for 2 years if you buy box after you will pay double instead of 2.5k you will pay 2k for mk908 then 800 for programming box

Just a quick question: I’ve got vibration coming from my steering wheels on my bmw 116i which seem to be related to the revs but I also recently changed my alloys and whenever the car goes over 70-80 km/h the steering wheel starts shakes - do you know if this is likely to be an engine issue or tyres? I’ve got them balanced again except for the rear tyres because according to the tyre guys they’re saying it’s due to cheap tyres and that it’s fine to keep driving with these tyres until they wear off - should I just assume this is correct and that it won’t cause any other issues?
If they said they cant balance the tire they must be really bad. From the symptoms it sounds exactly like a bent wheel or off balanced tire. Sometimes warped rotors will do that and if you softly apply the brake it gets worse but usually at any speed.

Great I don't think so ....when I bought one of the top of the range Maxisys MY908 about 6 years ago, I never updated it, my fault yes...... I missed the cut off 1 year free update by 2 days and they said sorry £675 for an update [£480 approx] when I bought it !!! .... no thanks I said. But now they want over £800 absolute daylight robbery !!! ....... I bet the next thing is the internal battery will fail. I am soon going to but another make without extortionate updates, BE WARNED and do some homework, there are some equally good and better out there for less money, with cheaper updates, but forget snap on.

Great video deano nice run down of all the features i did hear that with this tool in particular you can pay a fee to a manufacturer lets say ford for instance for coding and programming as well as vag i dont know how much truth there is to this but its still one hell of a good tool like you say. And being able to use the j2534 as a pass through tool with ista has its advantages. I dont think you will get a better tool for the money especially if your in the trade its alot of tool for the money. Having ista as a back to is spot on mines still going strong after you did it for me last year 👍 im interested in seeing this new tool thats as good if not better than the icom.

Well let me explain firstly this device was sent to me yes but I have all BMWs I have programmed already by myself using the genuine bmw software secondly I don’t have a Mercedes or I would have done it on that car. And to add they “DIDNT” send me this for programming they sent it to me to do whatever I wish with it on the video I don’t get told what to do just because they sent me something I get many many diagnostics tools sent to me and do my own thing with them as I wish and my videos how I wish. Thirdly I have another one they have sent to me which I will be showing later on on this channel which may be better for your needs.
This OBD2 Diagnostic Scanner is Awesome. They have less expensive ones that work wonderful as well. The price of this specific model on Amazon is $2,419.00 plus Tax and shipping depending on the region of the world you live in. It's not inexpensive. Thanks for the tutorial!
Price isn't out of line for what it covers. But, I am only dealing with my E46. ISTA covers it all just fine. Looking forward to the videos on this scanner, Dean!
Good review video. Just got this exact Scanner myself before before Christmas, i have used Autel for a good few years and I work on different brands including my BMW does most of what I need👍
They are the same in functionality, I have both. Biggest difference (not sure I would call it a lot) is the interface and speed. The MaxiCom is brighter and more colorful interface while the Elite is more professional looking. The elite has a better processor and smaller but better res screen. The elite has less internal memory. The elite has a newer Android Kerbal and better battery. Having both in our shop and getter preference over what I get to use, I keep the IM608, if I didn't have that it would be the Elite 100% the docking station and tegra processor are very very useful. The BT communication on the elite seems to be much much faster then the mk908p that I gave to the apprentice.
Its a great scanner I can afford it but the updates is pricey per year. I have the 808BT easy to use while driving while driving. But it does not have the Bi directional controls like yours and functions. Plus the updates are affordable per year. DEAN I'm jealous.... But what I can say some makers it does't like on mine on a Dodge 03 Dakota 👍👍👍👍 Cost $2500 over here.
They gave me 3 years free updates so I’m a happy man with that I can’t complain mate if I’m honest The 808 mate isn’t really that good mate they tried to send me loads before they agreed to this after I told them straight they wanted to send me the launch x141 but I refused it
@@BMWDoctor 808bt Not as at good as the 908 at all but its a handy little scanner have used it a lot.. I will say better than the creator but its MUCH bigger . Both the creator and the Autel are good scanners.
Good if your a Mechanic with different clients. For me not needed. All I have is bimmers. If they want to give it to me for free. I'll take it. Otherwise I will stick to Ista.

Autel the best scanner imo. I prefer it over Snap-on and definitely Matco.
Launch is at same level with software. Autel has better selection and my Zeus and bosch keep up. Have you owned a Verus edge or Zeus before ?

If it started after the tires and wheels I bet they are off balance.
