I giggle when I watch this performance. Superfruit (Mitch and Scott) reacted to a few of their Sing Off performances one their channel, and Mitch cringed at his low voice and his performance. He called it ‘Masc Mitch’. Too funny.
Also, they were a bit horrified that they did that pelvic thrust on national tv. :D then they did Guy.exe a couple of years later…
Her name is Kirstie, rhymes with ‘thirsty’.
PTX set a high standard and never let it go….perfection!
I completely agree with you about Shawn not mentioning Kirstie's voice and only her dress. And it wasn't the only time. In another performance, he was complimenting each of the guys' voices, and then said Kirstie had a "sweet, sassy style". I heard that she is the only female on the 5 seasons to be in a winning group, and against all the boy groups, that's something. The next one is one of my 3 favorites, so I can't wait to see your reaction to that one.
I don't understand what they have against women. European acapella groups have lots of female singers and they aren't treated as if they were there just for eye candy.
I think you might had missed the little part that was a tribute to Shawn and Boyz II Men (Motownphilly) at 4:05.
When you finish the sing off series you should react to Superfruit reacting to PTX on the show. It is so funny to hear the comments they make about themselves. Keep up the great reactions.
Mitch watched some of the PTX performances years later with Scott and said "Oh, there's Masc Mitch!" :D
You would love to see Mitch and Scott react to this stuff on Superfruit. They were dying laughing at this performance.
Loved the reaction. I find it way funny. In this competition they are super worried about putting a few songs together. The Evolution of Michael Jackson has like 25 songs.

Watching Sing Off in its second season was my introduction to modern acapella...I was lucky to see the birth of PTX...all viewers knew from day one that Pentatonix was the winner...🌿🌿🌿
I also came on board in the second season. The first time I heard Commitment, I said "they are going to win." The first time PTX performed I said "There's your winner!" I did pretty well!
there 12th one is my favorite, when Mitch does his thing.
Kirstie came out and killed it. I remember watching them on Sing-off. This is one of the stand out performances. Great reaction Thx Eddie 😎

Great reaction!! By the way, the disagreement at the beginning was completely fake and put on by the show. They made them do that for "drama." 🙄

I also wish they had said something nice about Kirstin’s singing instead of just the dress and the attitude. She did well with the singing and the dancing, though her voice has gotten stronger as she has gotten a bit older.
Apparently, there was some pressure from the production to have Mitch act more masculine. I do like it that in later years he seems to have developed his lower range and sometimes uses it for a great effect (I’m thinking Amazing Grace and When The Party’s Over as well as some of the Messer stuff). I just hate that someone who got bullied in Arlington for being too ”girly” kept getting more of the same from Hollywood. There is also the Instagram live with Alex Maax where Mitch mentions someone in the industry told him Re: Messer that he would be easier to market, if he’d explore his masculine side more. It didn’t even sound like the person thought they were being cruel and telling non-binary person to hide half of himself.
At least Sara also mentioned Kirstin’s singing.
I guess they really showed the producers when Mitch came out with his beautiful high notes on Dog Days!
