This is the content ive been looking for👌 I like that you included barometer and time of day so people can compare it with when they've caught fish, or give them new techniques to try at those times.
Cheers Kanga, we are always looking for those one percenters, slight changes in weather, barometer or flow and water clarity and then putting them together with what has worked in the past, like lure choices or techniques that have worked before 🙂
I do the same thing to catch one cod over 70cm up here in south east qld haha I love the low falling barometer it has always served me well fishing, but it does put you in some predicaments from time to time with the weather. Before you bought it up in the video I was diagnosing the clouds thinking I've been in this situation before 🤣
Great video Ray, loved it. You blokes know how to catch 'em. I visited Mildura last September. Loved the place. L It eas carp central plus my biggest Silver Perch. I even caught a redfin in Kings Billabong surprised a few locals. Haha Theres no shortage of food for these big cod to feed on down there. LOL
Never really had much luck with trolling lures for murray cod. What speed do you troll at and do you use the electric motor or the main motor? how far from the boat do you have your lures and what size lures are you using? how deep do you send your lures?
Hey Blake, l troll anywhere between 1 and 5ks per hour with either petrol or electric motor depending on current. I try to keep my lure about 1meter off the bottom, there eyes are on top of their heads so it's best to keep your lures about them. In deep water l might run my lure 30 metres behind the boat, in shallow water it might be only 5 meters behind 🙂
How long is a bit of string 🙂 I've all day without a hit, other days it the first pass, the most important this is be where they are and have a hook in the water, you will never catch them if they ain't there.
Great video, Ray and a great session for you and Mr Cod Mac. I got a few laughs in this one. Think it's time to get the Koolabung wake walker back out on a foogy morning, tho !
Thanks Tony, it's always a good laugh with Rod Mac and we usually find a fish or two somewhere along the way & the wake walkers will get a run for sure, just waiting for the river to recover from the floods :)
Great work boys👍🏻
Awesomeness watch mate, had a good laugh and pleasing to see the old school ways are still being shown just how I like it 🎣🍻
Cheers Evan, trolling lures was the only way we could get one this season opening.
Still very effective 🙂
