At this concert, Amira was still 13, just short of her 14th birthday. Sarah Brightman popularized this Ennio Morricone song, but she didn't write the lyrics, as many people mistakenly think. I'm a huge Sarah fan, but what Amira has done here is out of this world again. Amira was already in her performances of this song at the age of 12 adding passion to the final section. But in this concert, Amira brought to this song all the power of a super soprano who is 100% precise in everything, and even added high drama to the final part, taking advantage of her immense breath support to give speed. That's when fans rightly say that Amira is a glorious queen, the best soprano of all time.
Morricone originally composed the music for the film The Mission. Sarah Brightman thought it would make a good song and pleaded for permission to use it. Morricone flatly refused. She wrote to him for months and eventually he relented. The words were composed by the Italian Chiara Ferrau and Sarah was the first to sing it (still on You Tube in think). After Morricone's death, aged 90, Amira made a video in tribute to him.
Amira is a big fan of Morricone too. She has sung to several of his tunes. - La Califfa, - Your Love, from Once upon a time in the west, this one which is from the film the Mission. Morricone resisted adding lyrics to his music for a long time, but eventually gave way to pressure. The original tune is known as Gabriel's Oboe. My go to version is the Live in concert N. F. version which Amira sang at Africaans is groot in 2016. It's a dream. Amira also sang a tribute to E. M. On his passing a few years ago. Yes Amira has sung with the Mzansi frequently down the years. Most notably they featured on her African Christmas show. Their most prominent appearance, still on YT is The little drummer boy. ( The Lords prayer, seems to have vanished.) Suggestion, show your pal, the Ave Maria, Gomez, from 2015, it is breathtaking. I'm always keen to enjoy one of her songs.

The violinist with the red scarf shown several times is Amira’s mother.
