    Explain how to not get holograms with a rotary. I get them anywhere i use my 3" drill pad on things like the black trim on b pillars. Is it the cut polish that does it and do i need to follow up with a polish that specializes in removing holograms. Currently i take a DA to remove them.

    • @diydetailofficial
      @diydetailofficial  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Pad, pressure and speed all come into play. What pad, polish, speed and pressure are you using.

    • @Aaron-tv6fs
      @Aaron-tv6fs 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      You get holograms from pressure, tilted pads, and machine speed.
      I rotary on speed 3, zero pressure , one inch per second and overlap 50%. Keep the pad flat. No tilt.
      You’ll always get some faint hologram from the compound step in most paint finishes. Use a soft pad and a finish polish and you can finish with the rotary hologram free.
      Try finishing with the rotary. You should have no holograms if you’re technique is on point

    • @Aaron-tv6fs
      @Aaron-tv6fs 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Also use less compound. I only “prime” wool and Microfiber pads. Foam pads require one to two dots and no more.
      Less compound results in less haze and holograms
