I have the 2022 Edge ST. All I can say is it is a pleasure to drive. Love the engine and transmission, the ride, the steering is crisp, and as always in Fords, the lights are great. V6 TT and I get 21 to 23 MPG not to bad. The Fird Edge is way underrated for a crossover SUV.
Always good to hear from a current owner! Fuel economy is pretty much bang on Ford's claims too which is great. Have you run into any issues with yours since you bought it?
I've heard the same thing from a bunch of Edge owners. Seems like it does hold up really well. I'm hoping Ford decides to keep the Edge in the lineup rather than getting rid of it completely
@rolandthethompsongunner64 As compared to? If you're married and have 4 kids, ya you probably need something bigger. It fits my camping, hiking, and fishing needs. All my gear and 2 dogs fit fine along with reliability and pretty good gas mileage.
Really well done. This was the exact spec and color I ordered in 2023. Very pleased with this Edge ST. And thank you for showing me how to roll down the windows with the key fob....I did not know that. And I like this Edge ST over the Explorer ST, which I compares it to before buying the Edge ST. Better seats AND with suade inserts which I really like vs the Explorer ST seats, and better performance bolsters in the Edge ST. The seats are fantastic!!!!! The heated steering wheel is the hottest "burn" you can imagine.....it heats up super fast and probably heats up to 125 degrees. Same interior color trim package and the 401A package. Also got the console Gun safe, just because. Very happy with my purchase!!!!
Thanks Brian, always good to hear from someone who owns an ST and great that you're enjoying it so much! Never hurts to have the console safe but I don't think I've every seen one in an Edge before. Have you had a chance to check out the Ford Performance School for ST owners?
Yeah, the console safe is a pretty cool option. They may have called it a "locking storage" box, but as the console is so deep, it comes installed and is a well built combination safe. Haven't done the Performance Driving School yet, but maybe soon. I was told by my Dealer that Ford abruptly cut off sales of the '24's last September, so they had 2 days to scramble and get their orders in for the entire year!!!! No one likes Farley to say the least. I also like the hood lift cylinders on the Edge which are not offered on the Explorer ST...it still has the collapsible post to prop the hood open.....cheap. I do wish that the Edge had Power Folding Mirrors and a Head's Up Display. And they also dropped the Door Keypad, which I miss. But I would order another Edge ST in a heartbeat!!!!
I saw one on a Maverick a few months back but it's a way smaller console in comparison to the Edge. The '24 cutoff was quick.. they wanted to get all the orders in to start the re-tooling process for the Oakville plant. I'm hoping that Ford at least introduces a short run '25 or something build on a similar platform as the new Nautilus. Check out part number KB3Z-14A626-B. It's not as nice as the built in keypad code from the 2023 model but it has the same functionality
Gracias
I have a 2020 Edge ST and it’s a fantastic SUV. The twin turbo 6 makes about 330 hp which is plenty to push this vehicle and is tons of fun in sport mode. The ST has many upgrades like AC front seats, ambient lighting, touch screen, and lots of smart driving features. It has more space inside than I expected, and feels very well built. Give one a drive. I’ve owned a Lexus, 2 BMWs and an Infinity. I love this car.
Always great to hear from an owner! I don't think I've come across an Edge ST owner who didn't love their ride. Curious.. have you run into any issues since owning yours?
I’m gonna look at 1 tomorrow 2022 st I would trade in my q50 I need more space but still want performance I’m leaning towards getting one I would mod it tho
I had a 2015 sel Fod Taurus AWD now my new vechile is a 2019 Ford Edge Sel AWD I received it on December 16 2023 just in time for a Christmas present for myself and I just Love Ford so much and I ❤️ my 2019 Ford Edge so much I hope that the 2024 Edge is not the last year for Ford Edge I hope the Ford Oakville Plant make the new Ford Edge that they have in China and bring it to Canada 🇨🇦 that will be my next vehicle after my 2019 Ford Edge ❤
Exciting you were able to get the new ride in time for Christmas! Ford will probably make the announcement one way or the other in the next few months but I'm hoping they don't just write it off as well
Another cool review, I haven't driven one, but a co-worker's daughter has one and loves it. We love our 2016 SEL, and the 2.0L has plenty of zip, and has been quite dependable. I do fully adhere to the maintenance schedule though.
I have the 2015. Version of this model..wish more had changed on the dash and instrumentation cluster.. Too bad they didn’t offer a hybrid version over the time it’s been released
I'm surprised it didn't get much of an upgraded from the last gen to this one as well. Hopefully if Ford continues on with the Edge they'll give it a facelift!
I always enjoy your reviews, @CarsWithSteve. That looks like a fun little SUV. I did a little research, and the Lincoln version of the Ford Edge appears to be the Corsair. I need to go refresh my memory on your review of the Corsair to see what Lincoln buyers get for added value to justify the difference in price.
Thanks Patrick! The Edge and Nautilus are assembled at the same plant in Oakville and are based on the same platform. The Corsair equivalent in the Ford world is the Escape! The Corsair would have an available hybrid and the standard 2.0L turbo, along with the new interior that came to the Escape/Corsair in 2023. I have a compare video for them coming soon!
@@CarsWithSteve I had back surgery summer 2020, the battery died from lack of use. I charged the battery, but it was never the same. Never left me stranded. I had the battery replaced last month, al good now. I really ❤️ the car. People like to bitch about the dial shifter, I think it’s great. When the engine is turned off, the trans goes into Park, an excellent feature.
The dial shifter to park is one of the things I love the most about it too! I had a bike in the same situation a while back.. it sat for a season and had to replace the battery in the spring when I rode again. Hope you've regained mobility from the surgery!
You know what.. I don't think I really mention the transmission in any review videos I do. I'll start adding in that info! The ST has Ford's 2.7L twin turbo with a 7 speed auto transmission - so a different setup than what you'd find in the Bronco
If it's the one I'm thinking of that'll be to toggle the auto start/stop system on/off. That's the feature that'll temporary turn the engine off if you come down to a complete stop
Hi Steve..looking to find an Edge ST like this one..only problem I'm having a hard time finding one..I live in Windsor Ontario and slim pickings here for the ST..plenty of ST Line..want the 2.7L engine..
Hey Randy! It's going to be trickier to find them but there are still some out there. Have you already spoken with your dealer about bringing it in on a dealer trade? Check out AutoTrader as well, there are a few 24's listed there!
There is one thing however no one mentioned in the review. Ford Edge ST doesn't have Gen 2 engine known from F150. The 2.7 liter bi-turbo in Edge is generation one engine and even Ford has developed way better version (lot of changes, i.e. dual injection to prevent carbon build up on inlet valves) it was never decided to put it in Edge... Gen 2 is already 6 years in the marked (initiated in 2018) and proved to be very solid engine. This is shame that Ford is still putting gen 1 in 2024 Edge ST....
Well, you have detailed so many things about this car but not the very most important part - the engine. And it is not going deep in tech/specs. Ford did second generation 2.7 nano because of the design flaws in the first gen. Then they were telling how better the second gen is😂 At the same time they have decided not to use 2nd gen in flagship Edge. 2nd gen is now 6 years old. Funny, isn't it?😂
I mention the 2.7L engine a few times but it is going pretty in depth from a mechanical standpoint for what most consumers are looking for info wise. I've been doing Edge ST videos for 4 years and you're the first person who has mentioned that's something that was missing. Could be worth adding some more info on the mechanical side of things for future videos though, knowing there are people out there that actually want to know about it
Nah not that.. in the vehicles I review where they aren't driven it's because it's a sold unit. Huge liability driving a sold unit because if it's involved in an accident or gets damaged it would be a nightmare for the customer
I was thinking the same thing.. the Escape lucked out though being built on the same platform as the Bronco Sport and Maverick. That's probably the only reason why it wasn't scrapped and the Edge was

@@CarsWithSteve I do not have any issues. I get the oil changed regularly by the dealer, and I don't run it like a race car.

Ford Edge ST for me
Solid ride!
My only problem with ford is thier Guage cluster. They need to upgrade it. This has been the same for some time. Good review👌👌 though
The fully digital one is way better in comparison. If Ford does keep the Edge I'm sure there's going to be an upgrade
Was the A button a Cylinder Deactivation switch?

This is a great vehicle still. I wonder why you don't see many anymore. Probably too saturated market in this segment
It's odd.. Ford has averaged selling over 100,000 of these in the US alone per year the last 14 years . Weird decision for them to discontinue it
Why doesn't my st have memory seats ?
Good question... If it's a 2021 - 2024 model it should. Maybe a small chance that your build got a credit if it was assembled without that function
