@orlandojohnson5742 Congratulations on your R1! They are great handling bikes and they have good power. I never rode a 2001 but I owned a 1999 1st generation, and a 2007 which was the first generation with a 16 valve head instead of the 20 valve head. It was also the last generation before going to the cross-plain crankshaft. Enjoy it, it is an awesome bike. Be safe Bro.

@@Harley-bk9bq 600's are serious corner carving road weapons. I truly believe you need hard riding experience on a 600 to be a fast rider on a 1000. You learn how to work a gearbox on a 600 and that is very important.

I was lucky and learned a lot of cornering out in the mountains in Southern California when I was in the military. You might have to hit a track out here. You don't want to speed on unfamiliar curvy roads.
I hate to see people driving sick, without proper or complete protective clothing... drive as crazy as you want, I love that too but please with proper protection if you ever lay down you will be grateful for it

I've owned a 600 supersport and multiple 1000's ....all great fun regardless of class etc bla bla.....but don't support street racing deaths to innocent motorists....great sounding bike's and old school models for sure

With as many of the biking people who I've had the pleasure to watch them riding singles or ada group I've also seen the way that they ride as safely as possible meaning they took the care and time to wear the proper riding apparel!!! Boots, full suite proper helmet and proper gloves!! I've also seen these precious friends not be here to do these rides on anymore and luckily they had all their gear on but it's also because riding in places other than the tracks will keep you all alive a lot longer than just that one quick zip on the freeway!!!? I really don't want to see anymore dead bikers on the freeway or the back roads and I'd like to see them in the proper bike wear!! !!!??? If rather you guys have the right to be able to h e fun but just do it smartly and please don't forget to remember the people's that are no longer here because of people who don't have a thought about us riders out there on freeways and busyroads!!?? So please watch your backs and sides for us we can see you but do you try to keep a sight on the roads for us!!!?? Just a simple courtesy call everyone!!!?
