Hi! I don't know how many of you noticed but this is my second channel. Normally I upload track showcases there but this one was an exception! I'm currently working on Base Game Pass Wave 7 by the way :)
on the wii there's a fan-made version of MK called MKwii deluxe, it has a bunch of remakes of these tracks and ports from snes to wii u (or switch), one some of the rainbow road maps are insane and amazing, like the n64 MK8 remake is there! sadly the remakes are a random chance so u might get the original most of the time. 8k+ tracks in total with fan made tracks
The positive side of the tracks that were left out of the Booster Course Pass is that they have a better chance of appearing in MK9 with probably a better visual treatment than even the base tracks from 8
FINALLY. A DS Rainbow Road custom track that doesn’t have a bunch of ugly objects floating in the background. Idk who started that trend with this track and idk how they haven’t realized that it’s ugly. This custom track is beautiful 🙏🙏
If its official Nintendo IP that correlates to the theme like Astronaut Toads, or planets, im fine, but i get what you mean. Some tracks like in CTGP Wii, has random floating giant memes and it looks incredibly stupid.
The first Rainbow Road i ever played. Mario Kart DS will forever hold a very special place in my heart. This custom track does it IMMENSE justice. The custom remix of the song is incredible too, it keeps that sense of magic and wonder from the DS version. Major props to HELLOTHERE. You did my childhood good.
I'm glad someone made the first loop into one of those sideways loops. The normal loop always messed with the camera whenever people made custom tracks! Amazing! ❤
0:50 Maybe I am too much of a Mario kart nerd but can we just admire how this person perfectly understands that at the core Mario Kart is a racing game and the items are more a side thing so rather than using his red shell to get past the person in front of them they instead kept going and got past them like you would a traditional race which we see pay off as here 2:03 they get to use that item as a save. Just something kinda cool I noticed
Looks amazing Just a little nitpick of mine: i think it needs a couple of spectators like those spacesuit toads or spaceships. It feels kinda lonely compared to other rainbow roads
@@Rad0115 yes, it is faithful to the DS one, it delivers and prettty good on that But after the remakes from the OG game, i think a little bit of spectators to fill it up a bit would be nice (also since it takes assets from oddysey, some of those characters could be watching the race in the background)
The textures are so beautiful ! And the details of the rocks from SMO is quite a nice touch ! It's a shame that the shadow rendering engine seems not a fan of the mod

As much as I love Mario Circuit being released on the DS This is a big missed opportunity for the booster course pass, and this is in my opinion the best application for the anti-gravity wheels mechanic.

This feels so real! The music sounds like an official remix of this song, the slight variations in the track's layout are on point to the style of Mario Kart 8, AND Athere are nifty references to Mario Odyssey! As someone who grew up playing Mario Kart DS, I love this custom track! Wonderful job!

Ah, the FIRST time Mario Kart went upside down. Honestly this track massively benefits from the antigrav mechanics, the original had some janky stuff going on with the loop and corkscrew.
Multiple reasons. 1. They’re remaking each Rainbow Road in order. MK7 had SNES RR. MK8 had N64 RR. The next game will have GBA RR. 2. It wasn’t in Tour. Tour probably can’t work with loops and corkscrews.
@@chunzprocessor I think there are reasons for that as well. The DLCs can allow for courses to return even after their first retro appearance, and I suppose SNES RR was easy to make. As for Tour, that game is built off MK7, which is why most of its courses are included.
Call me crazy, but I don't think that DS Rainbow Road should get antigravity in its loop-de-loops, for three reasons. #1: It feels like it would just turn an iconic, track-defining thing into just another antigravity turn #2: While driving in a loop-de-loop on the DS, you would get a constant speed boost (retextured to not have a massive orange panel across the entire part) and the camera would zoom out. I don't expect Nintendo to make unique camera effects or speed boost panels for just one track or something, but still, adding antigravity kinda removes that #3: It's WAY cooler to be driven up the loop-de-loops purely by the sheer awesomeness of Rainbow Road instead of the technology of antigravity THIS IS NOT AT ALL A DISS OF ANYONE'S ABILITY TO MAKE MODS, THIS IS JUST PERSONAL OPINION.

This was the one Rainbow Road I was most hoping would make it into Mario Kart 8, I'm glad someone made it into a reality!
All ive been saying since 2015, it should've been this Rainbow Road that was in the original DLC and not SNES

Honestly I actually like that feeling. It makes it feel more peaceful and majestic. It matches the same vibe of the original.

I tried using an SD Card when downloading this but it didn't work. I don't know if i'm placing the files right, is there a way you can show me.
The loop being twisted on it's side makes it much less jarring with the anti-grav.
