Just amazing all the many different trains, engines, and parts. The colors and your editing were super nice! Sorry for your pain, keep the good memories close to your heart. Thank you for taking us along on this explore truly appreciated!!🚃🚂
When i was a kid, my dentist was a bigg time rail fan. At his dental practice and within the waiting area, he had a liitle room off to the side with a huge picture mounted on the wall of of train tracks and chair to sit in with all the controls from the inside of a locomotive. Moral of the story is, now I know where he got to control some.
What you see here is the fact that old diesel locomotives are not going to scrap. These used up locomotives have several basic components that unless they get actually cut up they can return as remanufactured rebuilt locomotives. The single most expensive part about these locomotives is producing the steel that they are made of. I don t mean the bent shapes of frames and such it is the production at the hot mill for the material for frames and truck sideframes and the engine blocks themselves. The rest of all of these locomotives are replaceable wheels pistons generators compressors fuel tanks electrical wiring fuel pumps turbo chargers axles brake pads air tanks fuel tanks ect. These are CORE parts for any new locomotive needed in the future and are here in line waiting for the call to be rebuilt.
Interesting video but if you're going to put in extra sounds, turn the darn volume down on them! Had my volume all the way up to hear what's going on only to get blasted out by that darn guitar several times
0:18 Well kinda, the way the place works is very very weird, they take some in for scrap, parts, and some go back out for lease, in some cases they might go to museums, or in the case of some of the units, rot there for all eternity as they seem to forget that the unit is on the property
I love this F40PHS Amtrac engine, however the Siemen Charger produced in California is so much advanced technologically. Unfortunately this engine is hardly much bigger than a metrolink engine here in St Louis, and can suffer serious facial damage in a real crash, unfortunately I've seen it happen.
First off there's not thousands. second they are not abandoned . there just stored for parts or repair. obviously you hear workers , well there not baking apple pie!!
Here he is Mr. attitude knows everything about railyards! First off… You probably never been there so you have no idea how many there are lol …second off I actually think the workers were baking apple pie, you should have smelled it! Oh that’s right…you weren’t there! but thanks for the view and comment
@@svxvideoexploration4571 I count about 157 stored locomotives on the property your trespassing on. Give or take one or two to consider whats left of the striped down ones. so where are the thousands as far as the eye can see ? What is this the discovery channel !
@@svxvideoexploration4571 still didn't give you the right to trespass at all if there were that many cameras in there I'm sure you were already caught and called in because they would have your face as evidence and can run it through a facial recognition system really easy that's what law-enforcement can do if they wanted to file charges which they should've because you did not have any business at all going over there whatsoever especially without prior permission from the company itself like I did when I filmed that myself I got in contact with somebody and got full permission to go over there to film all I wanted because at least I did the right thing by asking first‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️

This isn't a locomotive railyard it's a scrapyard.
let’s just call it a restorations storage and repurposing railyard! The owner definitely does not scrap them often!

Yep it is definitely a unique location and operation for sure the locomotives are becoming dinosaurs of the past transportation era
🚂🚞🚞🚞👍
where is this place... Anybody know?

So many of these locos could have been saved for short lines museums but no the end up like this sad
I don't agree with the statement " ABANDONED"
I agree, the he's whispering I'd they are trespassing a salvage yard. Plus look at the units, those parts were in high demand when whoever started it.
It was running when I parked it.
da hora

Dude, speak up so we can hear you!
He's the voiceover guy on the incontinence ad.
The only annoying thing was the guitar every scene change.
