There is something about these scenes from the countries of the former Yugoslavia that always makes me sad that they all separated. Taken together into what would have been modern Yugoslavia it would be have been a great country. This is not to say that the separate countries are not fine but just to say that from an outsider's perspective it is a shame. I visited Croatia in 20`9 and just loved the scenery, the buildings, the atmosphere and the people there. Thanks again for bringing this lovely tree filled journey into my home.
@jJustPlayingNZ I am glad that you liked the journey. It is a great railway running along stunning landscapes. It is a shame that railways connecting some of the former Yugoslav countries are not running anymore. And the connection to Thessaloniki ...I hope that we will be able to see that trains reestablished soon.
@lorirocks777 It really is. Another great railway line, I am so happy that they started the passenger service on the line again, even if it is just for the summer weekend services for now. I wish you a great day!

@afidaz Thanks a lot! I am trying my best to do that every time it is possible to make those additional shots. Thanks to my friend Zvonimir I could film them on this line.

Like other lines, this line too had, before Yugoslavia war, long distance connections. Night trains with couchettes and sleeping cars connected Ploce with Belgrad, Novi Sad, Ljubljana and Zagreb. The international "Mostar"express train connected, in about 24 hours, Stuttgart with Ploce. Still in the '80s Ploce was named Kardeljevo, and this was indicated as destination town of the Mostar express

Sarajevo, Mostar and the Neretva! This would be enough for a dream trip. I think that line is one of the most beautiful in Eastern Europe. The Serbian and Bosnian Balkans have a lot of spectacular lines! It starts from Sarajevo and passes through Bradina and goes down to Konjic with spectacular hairpin bends and viaducts. The Neretva is spectacular in its aquamarine color. Beautiful route up to Mostar then you see a Mediterranean landscape up to Ploce! I wanted to know a few things? Why do they use Talgo carriages in the Bosnian Intercity trains? It is also true that the Slovenian railways use powerful French locomotives such as the SNCF BB 7200 "Nez Casses". Why are the stations so obsolete? The platforms are quite narrow and you see very little traffic. Bosnia Herzegovina is not a rich country and you see very little care in the tracks and railways. The railway appears very neglected, but at least the landscape makes up for these shortcomings. The line is single track as in the whole country. Anyway you made a nice route! Another route would also be Belgrade Bar or Sarajevo - Bihac! Thank you very much!
Hello @wladislaw79, As someone who is living in Bosnia, Sarajevo, I wanted to respond to your comment in case the channel owner doesn’t see it. You’re absolutely right about the beauty of the Sarajevo-Mostar route. The Talgo carriages in Bosnia and Herzegovina are a significant upgrade from the older, communist-era carriages previously used. The Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina Railways (ŽFBH) procured the Talgo trains from the Spanish manufacturer Talgo in 2005. The total cost was over 130 million BAM (approximately 66.5 million EUR). The trains were delivered in 2010. Despite being delivered in 2010, the Talgo trains only entered service in 2016 due to various delays. The introduction of Talgo trains was part of an effort to modernize the rail network in Bosnia and Herzegovina and improve the quality of rail travel. As for the state of the railway stations and infrastructure, it's very outdated. The stations and rails were modernized in Yugoslavia, but after the war were not taken care of. These stations see very little traffic because people don't often travel by rail, mainly because it's inefficient and slow. Belgrade - Bar is also an amazing journey, but the Sarajevo - Bihać route doesn't exist anymore, being canceled during the Covid-19 pandemic and never reestablished. Thank you for your appreciation of our railways and landscapes!
@multifailsmasterbalkan996 Thank you very much for your answer and all the information that you shared with us. I hope I can film some more lines over there. This line is very beautiful, I enjoyed it very much.

how is the border control being performed on this train? Thanks for the video, the scenery is amazing and the video itself as always top quality. Great job! Is there another camera for tunnels?
@Apawcalypse_Meow There are border controls in Čapljina and Metkoviči it takes about 20 to 30 minutes. On the video those very long stops are cut out. About the camera, yes, I did use another camera in the tunnels, because the Go Pro is not very good in the low light conditions.
Yes, really interesting that they didn't build longer platforms when they did the upgrades 10-15 years ago - they make the announcement on the train at which car passengers will be able to disembark, at one moment they were looking for a passenger that needs to get off at next station and they didn't know if he heard the announcement. Also, these Talgo trains are long - single set is 100m and this was a double, so platforms would need to be very long.
@nobelitaly1024 Thank you. The GoPro camera I use is not very good at capturing video in low light conditions. So I experimented using the footage I made with another camera, which is better for low light.
@@이윤성-o7b Unfortunately there are no regular passenger services, also line from Doboj to Banja Luka is in pretty bad shape, it would be interesting to go from Sarajevo via Doboj to Šamac (and Croatia), following the Bosna river downstream, but again it would need to be a cargo train and that is not simple to arrange.

Very poor infrastructure. Even the railway is renovated and modernized in 2015, lack of maintenance is noticeable. With adequate protection of the railway on both sides, ETCS implementation, and installation of protection against landslides, the speeds could be higher, thus making the journey more pleasant. Greetings from Sarajevo!
Drugi razlog jeste neplanska gradnja uz prugu, gdje zive ljudi, pa masinovodje moraju otvoriti desetere oci, kako bi izbjegli tragediju. Jedino trenutno rjesenje jeste podizanje zastitnih mreza oko pruge, na urbanim mjestima, kako bi vozovi bezbjedno mogli voziti i kako bi postizali velike brzine. Pozz

@rikardlalic7275 Enjoy the ride. This passenger service was suspended for 9 years and was reopened again in June 2024 and the train is scheduled to run until September 1 on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.

Yes, really interesting that they didn't build longer platforms when they did the upgrades 10-15 years ago - they make the announcement on the train at which car passengers will be able to disembark, at one moment they were looking for a passenger that needs to get off at next station and they didn't know if he heard the announcement. @bolesawkukuniek1605 Thank you.
@kolejowychlop Yes, I agree. I hope it will run in the future.
Gdje se obavljaju granične formalnosti? Nije snimljeno.
I u Čapljini (gdje se mijenja i lokomotiva) i u Metkoviću. U oba slučaja to traje po 20-30 minuta.
I'm sorry but for 4K the video is not very clear
@user-gn6fi2mv5q Maybe check your internet connection. Probably the video os not played in full resolution 4K.
I have to agree with him, your 4k videos look very much like they were upscaled. Some other 4k content is much sharper on my screens (both 32-inch monitor and iPad Pro) than your videos.
It's not a connection problem, I'm watching in 2160p. It may be a question of equipment or the file format/bitrate. 🤔
@pcdoctor4395 Thank you for your comment. Greetings back to Sarajevo.
Drugi razlog jeste neplanska gradnja uz prugu, gdje zive ljudi, pa masinovodje moraju otvoriti desetere oci, kako bi izbjegli tragediju.
Jedino trenutno rjesenje jeste podizanje zastitnih mreza oko pruge, na urbanim mjestima, kako bi vozovi bezbjedno mogli voziti i kako bi postizali velike brzine. Pozz
@@alem4946 Hvala vam na odgovoru.

@sellier-bellot22 😀.
Hit 2
@rikardlalic7275 Enjoy the ride. This passenger service was suspended for 9 years and was reopened again in June 2024 and the train is scheduled to run until September 1 on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.
Predivni krajolici! Steta sto nema pruge do Crne Gore na jugu.
@bingo737 Zaista.
Mjesecu
@SeriesShower Da, samo vozi u vrhu sezona.
