01:51:50 BRB RE5 reaches its terminal at Munich Hbf 30 minutes late, with an actual travel and dwell time of 150 minutes, as opposed to the scheduled 120 minutes. Well done on capturing that. Thank you!
As a railway enthusiast from the Munich area, I know the route well, having visited various stations along it many times and traveled sections as a passenger, it's nice to see it from this less accessible perspective. Mostly cloudy skies are even an advantage at the time of recording because the setting sun is not blinding ;) It's strange that the train never exceeded 140 km/h despite sections with 160 km/h PS S7 goes from Kreuzstrasse via Ostbahnhof Donnersberg Harras to Wolfratshausen dont via Südring
Nice route! We certainly already knew the route from Rosenheim to Munich which in my personal opinion is less nice because it is almost entirely immersed in the woods. However the journey is smooth immersed in the Bavarian countryside and the Chiemsee, the "Bavarian Sea", with a lot of rolling stock including the German Henschel diesel locomotives with the round nose. The smaller stations in Germany would need a major restyling but the line is still going well. There is also a lot of BRB rolling stock and I had wanted to see this line for a long time. Good! If you have the opportunity to return to Germany there is the line that connects to Lindau on the Bodensee and is a double diesel track and passes through beautiful landscapes. See u soon!
Just to add, in your description Haar, Trudering and Berg am Laim are missing the "S-Bahn" labeling - these are also stations only served by S-Bahn. And you missed Großkarolinenfeld in the description (between Rosenheim and Ostermünchen, at 1:15:52) 😉
@@Sacto1654 The track passes just north of the foothills of the Alps, so it's just a bit hilly in some sections, but without the need for long tunnels/viaducts.
The route runs through a protected cultural landscape that shall not be spoiled by large-scale engineering structures. Therefore, shorter travel times are to be achieved by extending the route via Mühldorf am Inn - about 50 km north of the existing route.

7:09 Warum hat die Oberleitung zwischen Ö und D eine Trennstelle ("Hauptschalter aus"), wo doch beide Bahnsysteme 15 kV Wechselstrom bei 16,7 Hz verwenden?
Seltsame Frage. Na warum wohl? Möglicherweise vielleicht wegen der Stromabrechnung? Was? Ha?

Thanks for the video! A high-speed line would be needed on this route. The travel speeds are slower than in Italy.
@wyqtor High speed would be nice.
Unfortunately, due to the mountainous terrain in western Austria and southern Germany, that may not be so practical.
