  • This video allows students to practice their identification of human leukocytes. A total of 65 leukocytes are presented. You should identify each and keep track of the total numbers of neutrophils, eosinophils, basophils, monocytes, and neutrophils in order to calculate the percentage of each in the blood smear (you will divide the number of cells of each type that you identify by 65 in order to estimate their percentages).

Very useful video, thank you! But it would be great if you write the correct count just to compare results, it would be very useful.

I think you are referring to a hemacytometer which you can use to estimate absolute numbers of wbcs. A differential wbc count is typically conducted on a dried blood smear and examines relative proportions of wbcs.

@@rosslangstonify i still dont understand????? you randomly moved the slide, then you saw and counted.. then you randomly moved the slide again and counted...WTH were you counting relative to what ??? relative to what? relative to where on the slide???

@@lunam7249 i think you need to chill out bro. he was doing a 100 wbc diff with a battlement pattern. until he counts up 100 wbc then his relative wbc count is done. please know the difference between relative count vs absolute count.
