    Going to be adding some to my Hobie

      Awesome. It will be really easy with the Hobie and having access. You can use the same hatch battery holder from Berley Pro in the back. That is the one I used on my Hobie for the Garmin and just cut it up to fit the Nucanoe

    Good video. Just picked up a new Unlimited and looking to add nav lights. You gave me some good ideas. Thanks for sharing

      No problem. They definitely could use hatch access in the front. The easiest would be to just throw a battery in the gear pod and drill holes in that.
      But I like the open deck right now. It’s a good kayak.

      @@rjmfishtales I feel the same way and not doing the gear pod either. Will do something similar to what you did. I’m looking for a small 2 switch bank with a usb outlet. May add some internal lights too. Thanks again

    Hey buddy how's it going? I really really enjoyed watching you put the lights on your kayak man. They look awesome on your kayak & i would love to see what they look like at night time. Even if it just inside your garage man. I hope everything is going well for you. It so so for me man. I got sunburn pretty good on my face , arms , legs , & feet pretty well. I guess I didn't put Enough sunblock on while it was in the 90° Degrees heat & at the beach as well. My wife had to drive us home from the beach because my feet 🦶 are so burt that even with me having to drive barefooted 👣 i could not drive Because it hurt my feet 🦶 so bad to Press on the gas and brake pedal in the car. I even had Trouble trying to put my seat Belt on because it hurt so bad. You take it easy buddy & thanks you for sharing this video buddy.

    I saw a pretty cool light install where they took the strip led’s and installed them on the gear pod and had a push button on the front of the pod so you didn’t have to drill into the kayak. However if you took the gear pod out (say for tandem) you’d be screwed but it was a cool idea.

      LoL, you actually covered this in you video. Sorry! Didn’t make it there in the video before commenting 😂

      Ya doing it on the gear pod would be cool and super easy. I don’t mind drilling holes in a kayak. I have been doing it forever. It’s just plastic. You can fill and melt the kayak if you ever need to get rid of holes 😳

      It’s ok. Most people probably don’t make it to the end of the video anyways. 😂 Thanks for making it through it!

    • @rjmfishtales
      @rjmfishtales  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      No problem. No not blinding at all because the light faces out not up and down.

    Looking for a suggestion on what size battery to power the yak-power nav lights and a garmin 93sv. Looking at a 12v 12 ah. Do you think that is enough for a full day? I don't typically do several days without the ability to re-charge so just need the battery to last 8 hours.

    • @rjmfishtales
      @rjmfishtales  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      That should be fine. I use Nocqua 10ah battery on my striker 7sv. That will last almost 2 days but I charge every time anyways. Your nav lights will only be on for a few hours max in the morning. But if you are doing night fishing longer. But the LED lights really draw nothing. I have separate Nocqua 10ah for fishing finder. Nav lights and my GoPro charger. But 12ah should be more than enough for what you are asking as long as it is a good battery.
