Wow, well done Dan, what a magnificent lawn. I’ve spent Easter Saturday scarifying, spreading Dan’s rye grass at 50 gms per sq. m and covering it with fertiliser to keep the birds off. Watered in and next week looks rainy all week. It won’t look anything like yours but I can only hope!

@@AstonVilla1969 Hello, thanks for that information. I run my own garden and landscape company, and I've always wanted to go and work at the golf course, for a while, just so I can pick up some more tips. I have understood a lot in the past 5 years, aeration, tines, soft sand, mowing, cutting with allett. But I'm still interested in wanting to know, if greens overseed, and if so, what do they use, is it like Daniel dwarf rye grass? and I also wanted to know if greens put a layer of topsoil now and then for renovations. Also do greens use products at all? I've been mostly just sticking to pure logic basics, with my clients, keep it fairly thick in winter, chop it back before spring without it going yellow, and then take it down from there every two weeks or so. Spot treat some weeds, but just maintain a nice healthy grass stem and leaf coverage, thicker is greener. Any tips would be greatly appreciated, thanks. Most of the lawns I've started with were old agricultural plots, so it's taken a while to get a nice clean coverage, and sometimes I have prairie grass, not real grass, so if it's left, it just looks like a field, which I think most clients would prefer a garden not a field. But I love it. It's so satisfying. I'm also moving towards bigger machines, as the size of my properties start to increase. I have a lot of 1500m2 - 2500m2, and with a quality push mover weibang it takes me 3 hours. I'm looking to get a bigger model, maybe even a ride on. But I still get great results, the weibangs are amazing, my clients are thrilled with the cut. I'd post a picture of my one lawn, going for stripes like Daniel, it came out really good.

      @@DanielHibbertLawnExpert Hi Dan , yes I did.
I met a lot of TV Celebrities over the years Forsyth, Tarbuck , lots of footballers.
During Tournaments as I was a golf nut as well as a Greenkeeper at The Belfry I met and got autographs from a lot of players in the late 80’s and 90’s Ballesteros,Faldo you know who played in Ryder Cups around that time. The Americans were a lot politer than the Europeans I can tell you.
When I would be cutting the putting green during the Ryder Cups at 06:00 in the morning the Yanks would come out and say morning and speak to you.Not the Europeans they were miserable tossers.Colin Montgomery is a very rude obnoxious individual I can tell you!.

If you watch the BBC 1985 Ryder Cup video when they are interviewing Tony Jacklin at the end directly behind him is a guy with grey hair and moustache and if you look there is a 17 year old kid there with a flick haircut 😂 that’s me.
The Course Manager Derek Ganning who I worked under every year got given a European Tour Patrons badge which got you in any European Tour event free with unlimited access around like inside the ropes everywhere no restrictions.
I’ve been all over the place and had dinner in Wentworth Clubhouse with Seve Ballesteros and his family on the table next to us 😂
Derek Ganning the Course Manager you can google him he sadly died in 2022.

Here's a question mate - my lawn is decent but sometimes crab grass keeps popping up - i dig it out by roots and instead of seeding, I have grown grass separately in potting trays and transplanted it bare spots. Have you ever done this??

Fantastic looking lawn, great job! Quick question? I have an infestation with leatherjackets and have been trying to get rid of them for 3 years now, I have tried nemetodes, but they seem to do very little if anything, Is there any pesticides available now for them, i belive the pesticides where banned some years back. I am currently moveing a Tarp about the garden and have only done one edge so far and have picked up close on 3-400 so far. Needles to say the lawn is a wreck again.

Bottle has some Russian letters, think its where is from anyways. They know thing or two about a poison 😂😂 please avoid any drains, ponds, water or any living thing in your garden. No pets or children can go on your lawn next 3-4 days. Wear full PPE when handling, apart from that all good. On the bonus side I have not seen any worm casts since the application. Worms still there since I still see them coming out but no casts. Hope this helped? I just no how you feel so could not pass by without help. I know Dans against on all this kind a thing which is not an organic way but sometimes its necessity.
