Davis and Ken were never rivals, though. They're not like Tai and Matt. They start as foes, but quickly become friends after Ken turns. Their friendship is lowkey the best thing about 02

While Bancho might work for Stingmon, I think I'd prefer ExVeemon get its own Ultimate and Mega form. I mean it's right there in the name, but Ulforce is VeeDramon's Mega form. Give the anime line its own thing.
Also give Hawkmon and Armadillomon their own Ultimate & Mega levels. They're actually probably a higher priority since Patamon & Gatomon already have their own full lines; complete with 2 Megas each. And meanwhile Hawkmon & Armadillomon don't even have Jogress Megas to share.

Even if there is ever a Tamers sequel, there still won't be a reunion between Jeri and Leomon. Death just doesn't work that way in the Tamers universe.
@@slimkickens if Beelzemon is shattered and the data is set free that way then maybe, we never got a concrete answer as to what happened to Digimon who were shattered but not downloaded. Beelzemon dying would be an acceptable price for the reunion I want!
@@LadyLeomon Rika asks Renamon in episode 39 if they can change Leomon's destiny, and Renamon says no. There is no mechanic in the Tamers universe by which a deleted Digimon is reconfigured. Their data is either absorbed, becoming integrated into that Digimon, or dispersed, and used to create new Digimon, such as how Zhuqiaomon created the devas. Either way, there's nothing to suggest that a Digimon, especially one that's absorbed, can be reborn
Supposedly very few people in the industry want to work with Konaka, so I don't see them getting him back and I don't know if I want a Tamers sequel without him.

I have a theory about Kizuna’s age. Remember the first season of Digimon? Before Apocalymon, the flow of time in the digital world used to move way faster than the human world. What if that very same time flow affected Kizuna, but in reverse?
That and Ryo being able to jump between universes would fit well
I think it’s very interesting when the egg appeared it made every screen (from what I can tell I can’t read kanji) read “may everyone in the world have friends. May they each have a Digimon” (according to the English text in the Times Square scene). I hope this is what let’s us reconnect Kizuna to the 02 epilogue. Also this is probably more of a long shot but I do hope to hear “Run Around” again in the movie I know it’s a dub specific song but it would be cool

When does "Run Around" play? I'm not from the US; my country's dub is very loyal to the original japanese soundtrack (except for "Digimon - The Movie")

What I think could probably push things forward for quite a few fans is seeing official independent Ultimate/Perfect levels for each of Digimon 02 kids, not just what TK and Kari had with their Digimon as an option because of things with the original Digimon Adventure's end, and maybe official independent Mega/Ultimate level forms for Veemon and Wommon and the rest of the 02 gang as well. I think doing that in the coming film would go a long way toward showing that the Adventure 02 gang has the ability to stand on their own and go the distance just as good as the original Adventure cast, if not better; while seeing a return the DNA Digivolutions (and possibly cannon Mega evolutions for all of them, not just Imperialdramon) would be fun and nostalgic for a lot of the older fans, giving the 02 gang those full digivolution lines to progress through would also go a long way to helping to settle some of the debates among the community. Also, seeing official alternate DNA Digivolution states and forms.
Dinobeemon is the official alternate DNA Digivoution of Ex-Veemon and Stingmon, where Stingmon's insectoid traits are more dominant in the dominant part of the merger instead of Paildramon, where Ex-Veemon's dragon traits are more dominant. But Dinobeemon didn't officially exist until after Adventure 02 finished its run, but if it did exist prior, we could have gotten a storyline around its aggressive personality where Davis and Ken had to find a way to calm this fusion down and redirect it towards the problem Digimon threatening their friends, which would have probably made it one of the darker episodes of the series's run. But seeing alternate DNA Digivolutions for each of the pairings could be fun to see. The Digivice seems to have some sort of function where it stabilizes the evolution of partner Digimon, but it also seems to have a function that allows it to assess what is needed to deal with the crisis at hand within the limits and pressures being placed on the partner Digimon by the surrounding environment; so having these alternate DNA Digivoutions would allow them to express this secondary function of threat assessment that the Digivice seems to have but not always showcased. Also, giving the 02 gang access to their own individual full Digivolution lines would be just fun to see.
Dinobeemon existed in the japanese D-3, which was released during the show's run.
@@stevenhiggins3055 I was unaware of that; I was led to believe Dinobeemon was created and codified after Adventure 02's run, or at least at the tail end of its run, and thus missed out on a chance to be featured officially in Adventure 02
The official Ultimate/Perfect levels of Aquilamon, ExVeemon, and Ankylomon are, and brace yourself for this...
Silphymon, Paildramon, and Ankylomon.
The 02 Cast had no way to reach the Ultimate/Perfect level on their own, so they utilized their allies as fuel, and cut their numbers in half for more power. It's a natural digivolving process though, and the primary of the two digimon, the one used a base, is the one that digivolves, while the other one is turned into fuel to, well, fuel that digivolution.
The process could just easily use Gatomon, Stingmon, and Angemon as the base and the results would be Angewomon, DinoBeemon, and MagnaAngemon.
True or it wouldn't have had to be an overly aggressive or "bad" version of their fusion, but good ideas and I really like and appreciate all the suggestions mate

A reboot would be good. Not to mention they could use the reboot to flesh out the characters and add new Digivolutions

I'm hoping the 02 gang finally get to have their digimon achieve natural ultimate's and mega evolutions, especially since both T.K and Kari have digimon that can do it.
Not only that, but I hope they tide up some loose ends from 02. Like with daemon and the dark ocean. We never got a conclusion to that.

As long as they explain how kizuna ties into the ending of 02 with everyone getting there digimon back, that is still the weakest part of kizuna for me that forced emotinal ending that made no sense considering the end of 02 was still canon

Yea that's kinda why I don't like Kizuna. It had plot inconsistencies even in its own movie. Was it ever explained why this didn't effect Tentomon or Gomamon in the movie?
Yea kizuna and the tri flims were mostly fan service resulting in alot of bad writing like having new superpowered forms like kizuna agumon or merciful mode omegamon like they just get a-s pulled out of nowhere after losing to the big bad of the flim
There's also the problem of the characters just playing will they wont they with the deaths of the partner digimon like it's teased in digimon tri with the world getting reset and once again in kizuna where they vanish cause adults cant have digimon despite owikawa was it having a small green skinned, in training digimon but we can just pretend that never happened ig
@@bob74h67 EXACTLY. And you know there were actually people saying it makes sense adults don't have digimon since Japanese people get rid of childish things when they are older. Ignoring that most of digimon's fanbase are adults, that adult characters in the 01 and 02 groups have had digimon, that it begs the question do Japanese people regularly have their childhood friends die cause that's the equivalent here, and also that it just isn't an excuse since it was confirmed the ending of 02 is canon so why are they faking deaths. Tri was okay at best but Kizuna was atrocious to not only the continuity of itself but also the world it inhabits and the Canon set in place. Why on earth were Gabumon and Agumon, and off screen Biyomon which I don't think I'll get over, the ONLY ONES to "die". If having the mindset of an adult means your friend dies then why was Gomamon or even Tentomon, but DEFINITELY Gomamon, in Tri or Kizuna? Joe's whole thing for a while was focusing on his future and adult life so why wasn't Gomamon the 1st to go long before Tri. Even in the 02 anime even. Kizuna is a disgrace on multiple levels, and it makes me sad to be this infuriated at a franchise I hold dear but this is disgusting levels of bad when it comes to this movie and it's message that was just nostalgia and emotional baiting for a nothing story

Sora has always been my favorite Digidestined and Biyomon (and it’s evolutions) my favorite Digimon, so Kizuna really left a bitter taste in my mouth. I don’t understand why they had to completely exclude them from the narrative and then take Biyomon away from Sora anyway. Wasn’t it explained that the Digivices crack faster if they are actually used? So how come Biyomon had to go first, even though she didn’t even fight once in Kizuna? :/
Gomamon would’ve been the most logical choice to leave - I agree with you there.
Doesn’t help that the Adventure Reboot gutted Sora’s character…
After what happened to Tri and Last Kizuna, I'm not set my expectation too high. I'm happy the 02 cast get attention with this project, but still I can't image how they will connect the story, either it will be another mess or a new story that never have connection with the prequel.
So I think we must keep our expectation low so it will not hurt us so much when it air.
Honestly, If it's as good as Tri's first half I'll be fine with it. The first half was legit good, the second half I'm kinda middling on.
I just hope this new kid isn't going to be some retread of Maki/Menoa.
1 million percent yes to Ryan Donovan reprising Davis. His performance in that role is literally just as iconic as Tai's original VA to me.
Unfortunately the armor evolutions are not really something I expect to show up unless they’re making this movie SOLELY for merchandising purposes. The only reason armor evolutions were a thing was because traditional evolution was blocked by the dark towers so I am on the same boat of WANTING them especially Magnamon and possibly Golden Rapidmon but I wouldn’t get my hopes up…

Yeah like literally, after Ken was defeated as the Digimon emperor, we literally never (or rarely) saw them again, especially after the digimon learnt to digivolve.
To be fair, they popped up in Hurricane touchdown so I won't completely rule them out.
the armor evolutions are also related to the first gen digimon ( or their crests), so I have this one thought: Can the crest armors be the key to bring back the first gen digimon? Since if this is not a parallel world of our childhood digimon, the ending of 02 shows both generations still have their digimon living with them when they become adults
I watched the first clip they day when it released, love the nostalgia and familiar faces, happy to see Taichi and Koshiro's cameo, Its made from Kizuna's director and writer after all. But many questions surrounding this new character Rui Owada, like where did he came from, is he a time traveler? etc. My (wild) theory is that he was a human, "world's first digidestined" as they said, but something happened turn him into a digital humanoid being like Gennai for many years, then again something happened and transform him back to a human with memory loss. I don't know...too wild? And his partner Ukkomon, no details or appearances yet, its form reminds me of Baltoy in Pokemon.
Can't wait for its release, and they picked great VAs for Rui and Ukkomon as well. Rui is voicing by Megumi Ogata sensei, who was VA for various famous anime charaters (My favs!) like EVA's Shinji Ikari, and Yu-Gi-Oh's Yugi Mutou. And Ukkomon by Rie Kugimiya sensei, who just voiced Digitamamon in Ghost Game not long ago.
First of: YESSS! This Digimon 02 being announced is the best thing I've seen all day!
Second: I'm gonna mention my personal hopes for this movie!
1: While I *love* DnA Digivolving I also think it's about time that they all got proper non-jogress digivolutions. I don't mind if they fit much or if they make new Digimon for them, I just want a nice continuation of the lines.
If this happens I have a feeling Wormmon's ultimate would probably be BanchoStingmon or something similar, and Veemon's line would most likely include an UlforceVeemon, but what about Hawkmon? Or Armadillomon? What would they become?
2: *If* the digi-armors are included, it would be interesting to see all the other possible digi-armor combinations, I'd love to see Hawkmon turn into Allomon, or Armadillomon into Pteramon, for example.
I do think it's a long shot though, since the whole reason why the armors were needed was because the dark spires prevented digivolution by normal means.
3: Probably the most likely, I want to see this get a little bit dark! Ghost Game and Survive didn't shy away from darker tones and themes, and even as a little kid the dark ocean plot always interested me, I remember combing through all the dvds and episodes to see if there was ever anything else on the dark ocean, sadly, there wasn't, and I had always wondered if there was something wrong with my discs, like if I had scratched it and it had skipped an entire episode. So yeah, resolving the dark ocean, Dragomon, and everything else would be absolutely amazing for me, and many others.
I'm sure that I'll have nothing to worry about, since the movie seems to be in capable hands, and I know that these ideas are a bit far fetched, and I won't be mad if they don't include them.
I really cannot wait for this movie! Wooooooooo!!!!
So looking forward to this! 02 is my fav Digimon series, this will bring back a lot of nostalgia, emotions, and hopefully have a strong storyline that does the season justice.

I really hope we get to see Silphymon digivolve into Valkyriemon and Shakkoumon digivolve into whatever mega they give him. What I didn't like about the original Digimon Adventure 02 is only Paildramon got to reach mega. Hopefully we will see Shakkoumon and Silphymon reach their mega forms at least once.
The official mega for shakkoumon is vikemon so i really hope they once in for all give him a unique one
@@aarkyn3436 Plesiomon should've been used as Gomamons mega in Tri instead of Vikemon. It would be weird if Joes Zudomon and Cody's Shakkoumon were fighting another Digimon and they both digivolved into Vikemon. We don't even know if we'll see Silphymon and Shakkoumon in the new movie and even if we did see them they probably won't reach mega. If they do reach mega we do know we'll see Valkyriemon but we won't know if they'll use Vikemon as Shakkoumons mega. The only way to know for sure is to watch the new Digimon Adventure 02 movie when it comes out.

Oooo. Digimon 02 coming back. It been over 20 years since I've seen that show. My God I'm old.
I've always wondered what would happen if they merged the digiarmor eggs. At the same time, I can't see them using the armor digivolve because they were specifically designed because of the black towers preventing normal digievolution. Only way for the armor versions to show back up is someone is able to duplicate the black towers or at least the effects of them. I also don't want Imperialdamon to be the only mega the 02 group has so let the other two DNA merged digimon have some sort of mega forms.
Easy to come up with ways to bring them back, and fusing them could and to me just should make for stronger than adult levels, oooh or we they could have their adult or ultimate/perfect levels use them too tha be awesome, imagine FlamedraPaildramon,
It probably won't be the the reason they use in the film, but don't forget there was a time displacement in the digital world where time was faster than the real world until after the myotismon arc. After that time between both worlds synced. It could make sense that there could have been many other teams that had adventures in The digital world around the same earth time as Tai and team. Just days, weeks or months apart in earth time but years in the digital world.
What if Willis’s Terriermon and Lopmon DNA digivolved together?
I'm so happy about this, as i grew up with series 1, 02, and tamers then dropped off after that, so I'm glad to see a modern adaptation of that story, as it got really convoluted near the end of the series! :D
totally agree with your speculations of the movie. Like, this is such a good opportunity to really own and explore the dark ocean lore! And Willis should definitely come back as well.

Ken used to be my favorite character and I remember very clearly a username on a forum "Ken Ichimoomoo" that had an avatar of Ken in a cow costume. Things I cannot forget. Also impressed how long ago I was looking at forums, in that case. I even imported the Digiegg armor toys. Which were amazing, btw.

Technically Omegamon is not Jogress is Gattai...
Its super complicated... For some reason some Digimon are considered to Combine, while others fuse.
The difference is that Combining maintains the 2 cores separate, while Jogress Fuses 2 different cores to create a new one.

ahh i'm so excited, I loved all the original digimon adventure shows and their sequel, and I always thought 02 didn't get much screen time, this is nice.

Finally the rightful respect to the digidestined I grew up with.
Now its one step closer to the Tamers... the series that probably needs the most for a continuation, but I would probably take a reboot as well just to update the animation work and art style with a twist in the continuity and story.

Yeah she’s amazing! I went to see jujutsu kaisen 0 in the theatre and had no idea she was the MAIN CHARACTER before the movie began. Then I instantly recognized her voice and was so excited

We saw a couple of the Knights in Tri. Dark gennai is still around vanishing while talking about Daemon from Digimon survive and Diaboromon were mentioned. maybe one of the RoyalKnights created the Dark Ocean or Yggdrasil did

Wow I'm excited to see this. Last Evolution had me in Tears. Toei Animation might as well do Movies for Tamers & Frontier as well.
My guess the new villain is from the dark ocean? There were whole bunch of high level digimon back than but was push by them to the dark ocean .
What really needs to happen is that the 02 Digimon need to get their OWN separate Ultimate/Mega forms. No DNA Digivolution.
I’d like to see an armor digivolution for Wormmon, as well as an Ultimate, or maybe even Mega form for him!
It always pissed me off that Ken never got the golden Digi egg back which technically was his and wormmon didn’t have more digivolutions.
remember ryo from tamers appeared in ken's flash back, if I remember right ryo did make a reference to that time and he didn't to have aged since then, so maybe the "old" Digidestined is really the first tamer.

O2 and Tamera were my favorite seasons of digimon. I agree in that I would love to see willus and terriormon even the guy with the betamon/seadramon return. I'm so excited for this and can't wait.
I'm hoping to see complete lines for the partners (at least for Veemon & Wormon if not enough time. Be it completely new Digimon, UlforceVeedramon/BanchoStingmon or even Imperialdramon FM/GrandisKuwagamon, there's stuff to do there). And perhaps (or either) something that involves both jogress & armor evolution. Like maybe Imperialdramon digivolving further by using the Digi Egg of Miracles or something

YES I WANT TO SEE WILLIS SO BADLY I need to rewatch 02 since I have barely any recollection of it since the last time I watched it I was like 5 or 6 but I’m pretty sure Willis was never in the anime and only being in the movie but I would really adore to see him again he was one of my favourite characters as a kid
I believe 02 featured the most types of evolution in one series (regular evo, armored evo, dna evo) so if this movie emphasizes that... itd be great.
They can explore each others' variant evos where theyd borrow each others digieggs or something.
I hope they dont just come up with an entirely new digimon evo-form again and just feature those cool digimon forms that already exist

I would really like to see Ryo come back and get more development and emphasis in a future series, as he has been in other Digimon mediums.
UPDATE: in March 2023 it was announced that Digimon Adventure 02: The Beginning will release in Japan on October 27 2023! No news on international release yet.
