- Lallantop Films bring a documentary 'Why Ladakh is protesting' by Rajat Sain & Roohani on the ongoing protests in Ladakh. This documentary talks about the burning issue of 'Climate Change' discussing how the global glacier melting has affected more than half of the population of the nation. The Himalayan Region is exponentially receding at the fastest rate and the whole region would soon be turning into mountain desert. The demand for the safeguard of the tribal region of Ladakh has always been in the rounds during elections. After the abrogation of the Article 370 in 2019, people of Ladakh welcomed the move with full vigour as Ladakh became a Union Territory but without legislature. Gradually, the voices of dissent began to rise in the deserted valley to safeguard the rights of the Tribal Region of Ladakh. Therefore, protests began, demanding Schedule 6 under Article 244 of the constitution. In this documentary constitutional expert Vikas Divyakirti explains: What is the Sixth Schedule, and can Ladakh be included under it? We also talked to activist Sonam Wangchuk who was on five-day fast over regional demands for greater autonomy. We also talked to the chairman of the Hill Council from BJP for his perspective. This film also discusses the issue of Village Migration because of the water scarcity in the area and the temporary solution to this problem which is 'Ice Stupa'. Watch full video to know more.

@@nlDt87 I respectfully disagree with you, It all comes to policies of government, government can make policies which can give well paying job to Ladakhis,Save glaciers and environment of Ladakh, build all the necessary infrastructure for the people (obviously places which are sensitive for construction purpose should be left untouched) and at the same time through smart policies government can also increase Indian military's presence there.
So it all comes to will of government to take action, and currently Every person having basic common sense knows that government is lazy in taking bold and quick steps.

Beautifully made. Kudos to the entire team. I am from Ladakh, from the district, which finds its mention only in the passing even in such a wonderfully made documentary, Kargil. This brings all of my favourite persons in a single place, some like Mr. Wangchuk & Divyakirti sir in front of the Camera and the passion of Saurabh's Lallantop Team in front as well as behind the camera. Ek damm Lallantop documentary tha.
But for the information of all the concerned, I would like to mention that the Panchayati Raj is already in place in Ladakh. The Hill Council takes place of the third tier of the Panchayati Raj.
