Sonam wangchuk sir is a very educated man . He's has done so much for the army and people with his inventions and ideas . It's not people of laddakh are not related to Indian army ,I would say that they would have done much more than people of others state standing behind soldiers in every fight . They've helped them by fighting themselves and providing assistance and food. Secondly if you sell the Himalayas , it's not just only them it's you too who's gonna suffer and they're not against development. Show Sonam wangchuk sir some support on his channel . It was exactly what an unrested citizen wanted to hear.
Yes I loved that last bit. It's a very mature, bipartisan statement devoid of politics, religion or jingoism. This government needs to do a lot more to win trust of it's second or third tiered citizens. Its actions doesn't exude a lot of confidence. Most of the benefits are reaped by the top 10% of the populace - others get no recognition or consideration.

From my porspective it's not about culture and environment it's mostly about power after living in Ladakh for 20 years I can say ladakhis do discriminate against the people who are not locals.If they got the 6th secdule then only the discrimination against outsiders will only increase

I am glad that you talked on the gorkhaland topic too. The mainstream media never broadcasted such topics.Whether be it congress or BJP areas like ladakh and darjeeling are never heard. In 1986 agitation more than 1200 people were killed. The CPI(m) government back then with Jyoti Basu as the CM sent paramilitary forces CRPF to supress the movement and you can't imagine the horrors that people of darjeeling had to go through. The resthouses were burnt, the movement leaders were shot dead and alot of other things happened.

Mohak, I m from a 6th schedule area of dima hasao district of Assam, we support fully the demand of the Ladakh peoples', the so- called concerned authorities see any issues through their lenses not from the lenses of the local peoples, there are justified grievances of the locals which the authorities are not trying to understand, now here at our North Cachar Hills Autonomous District Council, Haflong, they are trying to change and dilute the powers of the 6th schedule, with regards from an inhabitant of Dima Hasao, Haglong Town, M. Gorlosa.

I'm a tribal. The people of Ladakh need to save their land from outsiders. This may sound parochial and paranoid but it is necessary to save their traditions and society from being overrun by outsiders.
Look at Tripura. The local tribal population were being totally overwhelmed politically and economically. We tribals are simple and laid-back people and we risk losing our land and culture to dynamic and rapid cultural influence of the majority if it is not preserved through law. Ladakh people are very simple and unique people and they need to preserve their society as it is. Indians should appreciate these differences and let them enjoy their age old rights. I applaud the leadership of Ladakh people for their farsightedness. The Government of India should listen to their voice.

They are the ones coming and settling into the state and changing the overall demographic and culture. If the central government were to do what it's doing in Ladakh that wouldn't have been the case. Short term security comes before long term security. You won't be able to focus on environment of your own state in future if people from other countries come and take it now

What makes you think all Protests are Genuine. Sometimes they are organised with timings and different motives. Recent Farmer Protest was definitely not Genuine you check their demands.Opposition is protesting for the arrest of CMs who avoided multiple summons(Jharkhand's CM even went missing for some 36 Hours I guess. Kejriwal avoided whopping 9 summons). I understand CM is important designation but what makes you think why Court is also denying them bail? Laddakh protest is genuine but the talks are underway so the protest too has some political traction considering the timing. Wrestlers protest too had some political traction but it was Genuine too and the Accused Man didn't really face the consequences he deserved
@shyamkale7230 the farmers protest is legit, government did not follow up on their promices so the farmers had to protest again. South is protesting to get the funds and autonomy they deserve. As for the timing no one is stupid and know that things get done only during election.

real information? what real information? kashmir was given a 3rd option to stay independent - WHERE? where did he invent this? in the official independence act 1947 it is written for them to either join india or pakistan. The third option is entirely INVENTED by certain political groups.

That was not a bandh, Butcher Bimal Gurung wanted to take over complete power in Darjeeling. He led a violent protest and killed a sub inspector of West Bengal police. You can't justify Darjeeling bandh of 2017, it was a radical violence.

Thank you Mohak for such well researched video on Ladakh and supporting Ladakh. When you talk about the national security of the country, I think we Ladakhis are more concerned about it. We never opposed or objected any infrastructure development when it concerns national security. We always welcomed and will always welcome every steps related to strengthening our borders from enemies.
It's a double edged sword. You want to protect environment, then building heavy infra like all weather highways and tunnels is not possible and you risk possibility of China cutting it off. Similar thing I feel is about the Lithium reserves recently found in J&K. It is very polluting process of extracting it but if you don't do it, you depend on importing it from China like it is happening currently.

*China considers Ladakh, Nepal etc as Tibet's 5 fingers.* National security is important. Ladakh's nature & culture is important. Development is also important. Balanced approach is needed.

Mohak one correction that government had promised to put ladkh in 6th schedule as per their manifesto. So lahkian's are just asking for their promise they voted for...and video is just great with a lot of knowledge and examples. Great going thanks for such video
You forgot the fact that menifesto promise was in 2019, while the India-China's Ladakh border standoff erupted in 2020. So that's why the govt. is in dilema that if they gave 6th schedule to Ladakh then Indian army activities & their infrastructure will be interrupted & China will be in stonger position to dominate from their side.
@@5150Amrit but in leh 2020 (near to october) council elections for ladakh, BJP again promised to put ladkh in 6th schedule and India china border dispute took place in May 2020, So it's show all they want is power. Even if they build their trust or not.
@@AkashYadav-ri1fy I feel the only way to ammend 6th schedule is with some changes in it that will include the army operations & enforcement & some climate saving measures like alllowing only electric vehicles coz the current 6th schedule won't allow them these things unless they make some changes in it especially for Ladakh region.

I was just talking to my family about this issue when they finished watching Three Idiots ( again). They had no idea about this issue or the hunger strike because the news channels never cover it properly. You are doing great work Mohak. I was specially moved by the monologue at the end.

I am glad that you talked on the gorkhaland topic too. The mainstream media never broadcasted such topics.Whether be it congress or BJP areas like ladakh and darjeeling are never heard. In 1986 agitation more than 1200 people were killed. The CPI(m) government back then with Jyoti Basu as the CM sent paramilitary forces CRPF to supress the movement and you can't imagine the horrors that people of darjeeling had to go through. The resthouses were burnt, the movement leaders were shot dead and alot of other things happened.

Gorlosa.

Thank you Mohak for such well researched video on Ladakh and supporting Ladakh. When you talk about the national security of the country, I think we Ladakhis are more concerned about it. We never opposed or objected any infrastructure development when it concerns national security. We always welcomed and will always welcome every steps related to strengthening our borders from enemies.
It's a double edged sword. You want to protect environment, then building heavy infra like all weather highways and tunnels is not possible and you risk possibility of China cutting it off.
Similar thing I feel is about the Lithium reserves recently found in J&K. It is very polluting process of extracting it but if you don't do it, you depend on importing it from China like it is happening currently.

*China considers Ladakh, Nepal etc as Tibet's 5 fingers.* National security is important. Ladakh's nature & culture is important. Development is also important. Balanced approach is needed.
*Pakistan too attacked Ladakh's Kargil in 1999 due to ethnic reasons and to cut off Siachen.*
Both China and Pakistan are eyeing Ladakh.

Mohak one correction that government had promised to put ladkh in 6th schedule as per their manifesto. So lahkian's are just asking for their promise they voted for...and video is just great with a lot of knowledge and examples. Great going thanks for such video
You forgot the fact that menifesto promise was in 2019, while the India-China's Ladakh border standoff erupted in 2020. So that's why the govt. is in dilema that if they gave 6th schedule to Ladakh then Indian army activities & their infrastructure will be interrupted & China will be in stonger position to dominate from their side.
@@5150Amrit but in leh 2020 (near to october) council elections for ladakh, BJP again promised to put ladkh in 6th schedule and India china border dispute took place in May 2020, So it's show all they want is power. Even if they build their trust or not.
@@AkashYadav-ri1fy I feel the only way to ammend 6th schedule is with some changes in it that will include the army operations & enforcement & some climate saving measures like alllowing only electric vehicles coz the current 6th schedule won't allow them these things unless they make some changes in it especially for Ladakh region.

As an Indian I totally stand with Ladakh. But I think the reasons that mohak gave is totally valid. We already have lost aksai chin because in 1960s we can't reach there because of poor infrastructure. The same should not happen again. But the government should look after the people of Ladakh, they are also the citizen of India and they also have the right to save their land, people, culture and their religion. Jai Hind❤
